"You can thank Stefano for that. He cooks really well. He was a chef in France, Spain, Alaska, and almost anywhere for a while before he came over here. He's nice, sweet, and he's very innocent. Like really innocent. I think one time we were joking about sex and he thought we were talking about the gender." Connors smile grew wide. "I'll tell him you like the food." Connor leaned back onto the palm of his hands. "How have you been holding up. Only…5 move days left."
"aw the poor angel," jas laughed softly and nodded his head in thanks. "I've been okay, slightly suffocated but nothing I can't handle for a few more days." He replied.
"What about you? I suspect you thought this arrangement was going to be more permanent." He mused, falling silent got a few moments. "I'm sorry," he whispered softly. "For what I said yesterday. It wasn't fair on you and it was selfish of me to ever thing you'd want something like that with me." He looked away and arranged his books and blanket, needing to distract himself. "Good news is I'll be home in five days so you won't need to deal with me for much longer, at least until I kidnap somone again or something." He offered a small smile bit it wasn't long lasting
Connor's happy smile turned into a sad one when he moved closer to the glass. "No, don't be sorry. You didn't say anything wrong. I was just embarrassed because you said that you would kiss…me…senseless and when you said it would be just us…two. I found it sweet. It kept me up all night, trying to forget it, it didn't work." I guess secretly, I want that… Conor's face turned red like it always did when he talked about things like this. "It's not that the thought of that is repulsive…it's just…very embarrassing to think about. Honestly, I was thinking that you wouldn't have that kind of relationship with me." Connor watched him organize, with a long pause in between. "You said you were going home right. Where is that? Maybe I'll come to visit you. Besides, when you cause trouble it's only gonna end up like this over and over again."
Jas gave a small laugh and stood in the middle of the now organized room, his given books and blanket neatly stacked on the corner. "That is if I let you catch me again dear." He teased, crossing his arms over his chest. He arched an eyebrow and tilted his head with a grin. "You'd really want to visit me?" He watched Connor for a few moments, blush rising to his cheeks. "I live on the east end. In the apartments on the corner of 45th. 3rd floor, room 12." He said. "I wouldn't mind if you came to visit. I'll leave you a key in case you choose to drop by when I'm not there." He said, suddenly excited that the thought of Conner coming to his home. Not out of anything to weird but just have the opportunity to show his dear hero that there was more to him, more to being a villain and scoundrel. Maybe even take him on a date. He turned away slightly to hide his sudden embarrassment even as a smile spread on his face. "Of course if you want." He added on quickly with a cough, trying to regain his confidence
Connor laughed covering his mouth with a fist. "That was more than cute. Yes, I would love to. Why do you excited though? What are you planning." Connor said with a smirk. He also loved the thought of getting to know Jas and hopefully making him see that Connor is more than just a hero, who is cold. "I'm just kidding I know you aren't planning anything weird, but an evening with you does sound nice. Maybe a morning with a fresh cup of coffee, while we sit and take about whatever. That has to be better than any sexual feeling." Connor described grinning to himself. "Anyway, I live in a penthouse. I get a lot of money from this hero thing. So, that's where I live. I don't have any actual pictures or decorations, but I got a few."
Jas chuckled lightly and shook his head as he walked over to the glass. "You're not allowed to know what I'm planning, dear. Just know that I've had more than enough time to to plan ever detail." He murmured with a grin. Jas nearly melted at the thought of Connor spending the night and morning with him. "That does sound really nice." He agreed, leaning again the glass wall and watching Connor. Ah so he lived there. Jas frequented the richer part of town for his little escapades since most con men and criminals targeted individuals with more money than. What they knew what to do with. He had thought about switching it up every now and then, play robinhood along with his fellow vagrants but he evened out the playing field in the end. Steal fr the rich? Jas wasn't going to drop them, (hell, suni was usually the one behind the robberies, persuasive as he is, he could get anyone to follow his lead.) But hurt the innocent despite their social standung? That's where Jas drew the line between petty crime and downright monstrous.
Connor laughed a bit himself. "So it's a surprise, huh. Alright. How about this. As soon as you get out we can head over to your place. It'll be early in the morning because you have to stay for the full hours. So maybe in the morning, we could pick up some coffee. Head back to your place. If you want I could cook some breakfast and then we can talk or watch something. How does that sound?" Connor said softly. Still, he was loud enough so jas could hear him. Connor often thought about a calm day with no villains and robberies and whatnot. Just a peaceful day, so he wouldn't have to get up for once. "One thing I would love to do is sleep in. I haven't got to do that in like 8 years because I have to go and stop villains. I feel like it's become more of a job than just saving the city. I just wish they didn't call me for every little thing." Connor mimicked one of his co-workers' voices. "There's a robbery downtown, there's a building on fire, There is a rampaging beast on the streets, someone stole an old lady's purse. Like, don't the police handle that. I mean besides the beast part." Connor looked over to Jas. "Sorry, I rambled again."
Jas smiled softly "I'd absolutely love that. But you cook? Now that certainly is a surprise, darling." Jas purred with a small giggle. He listened as Connor rambled, glad to spend any amount of time with Connor. "Don't worry about it, you're voice is rather soothing." He murmured softly, lightly tapping the glass. "But you have a point, I always wondered why it was always you showing up and not the police. Not that is as ever disdapointed when you came, but it was always a curiosity if mine why you came." He took a peek up at connor. "Regardless, I was always glad to see you. Even if you were mad or pissed off. You have a very cute mad face, just saying."
Connor blushed. "Yeah, I live alone so I kind of has to provide for myself. Besides, I like cooking and baking. I think that's what helps me with all of the stress that I get from your friends. I also have a family with lots of brothers and sisters so when my mom and dad aren't home I'm the one who has to cook dinner." Connor pouted. "I do not have a cute mad face. You probably have a kink for that sort of thing that's why you find it cute. I'll probably talk with them about giving me a day off. At this point I don't care if the world is ending, don't call me!" He noticed Jas tapping at the glass. "Want me to come in there or something?" Connor placed his head onto his knees.
"oh you definately do, my dear." Jas said, laughing softly at Connor's blush and pout. "But no, I just find it very cute. Nothing more." He reassured, perking up at the mention of Connor's family. He had never really heard about Connor's family other than a sibling's here and there. He shrugged slightly "if you'd like. It was nice before." He said softly, unnable to meet Connor's gaze. "But yeah, I'd love to come over sometime."
Connor stood up, looking back and forth before open the cell and closing it behind him. His wings spread out again, but he soon closed them. “A while back I saw you pawing at wings. You must find them interesting. I hate them, only because my parents used to call me this almighty god. They wanted another one. That’s why I have so many siblings.” Connor sighed plopping himself on the ground with his legs crossed. “Anyway, what about how has your reincarnation life been going. Besides causing trouble for me?”
Jas scooted back a bit to give Connor and his massive wings room. He sucked in a breath, still not very used to being so close to Connor, at least not without bantering and teasing each other. He nodded slightly "yes, I haven't heard of many shifters that retain their animalistic features in human form." He explained softly. "You hate them?" He whispered, slowly reaching out and gently running his hand the length of the wings. "How? Something so beautiful and integral to you." He continued in that soft whisper. Then he understood. More like Connor? As if he wasn't enough. As if they're could better. While Jas didn't doubt his sibling weren't asking in their own way, he could understand how Connor could come to hate his wings. Jas sat across from Connor a few feet away. He laugh apologetically and brushed back his hair from his eyes "eh, other than bothering you, pretty normal. I have a job at the publishing company down the street from my apartment, oddly enough, I think that's why Suni came here. Cuz I haven't showed up for work." He chuckled lightly and shrugged "this is one of my calmer lives, so why not shake things up a bit.?"
Connor's face flushed when Jas called his wings beautiful. "Y-Yeah, I get that a lot." Connor laid his head down on Jas's lap. "I didn't know you worked at a publishing company. Is it a big one or a small one?" Connor smiled brightly closing his eyes. "I just realized we've been talking for hours, it's almost night." Connor took Jas's arm and started play with it. Spreading his fingers apart or crossing them. He found it very amusing. Connor sometimes felt like a kid and other times was a very strict dad. It was honestly a problem at this point. Connor opened his eyes only for them to be met by Jas's. "You're eyes are very pretty."
Jas propped himself up, one hand behind him while the other hand dragged through Connor's hair, detangling and brushing his heart to one side. "Hm, no. Not that big. We mostly deal with small authors or indie authors." He explained softly, enthralled by Connor just being so close to him. He cod feel every breath, every twitch or movement. He let Connor play with his arm and hand, finding it very cute that Connor found joy in just doing something so simple. "Really? I haven't noticed." He mused softly, lightly lacing their hands together and pressing a kiss to the back of Connor's hand. He gazed down at Connor, a soft smile on his lips. "Thank you, my dear."
"Your welcome." Connor hummed when Jas started playing with his hair. "That feels nice…" he trailed off. When he felt Jas's lips on his hand, Connor looked away, his ears turning red. Connor held his hand tightly and firmly. He felt like if he let go, the world would end right then and there. "You can't kiss my hand like that. It's teasing. If you were going to kiss me it would have to be here." Connor pointed to his lips. "Then and only then, will it not be a tease." He closed his eyes again, almost wanting to fall asleep. He was dozing off and when his hand loosened around Jas's. There were some people who walked by looking into the cell again, but not wanting to do anything because they were too afraid of Jas.
Jas laughed softly and leaned in close, lips a few centimeters away from Connor's. "But you know how much I love to tease you, dear. Why stop now?" He murmured softly, pressing a kiss to Connor's nose, his smile growing as he saw the blush rising to his hero's cheeks and ears. "You're absolutely adorable." He said, watching as Connor drifted off. "Sleep well my dearest hero. I can't wait to wake up to you beside me every night." He reached over and pulled the blanket from his little stack and draped it over Connor's shoulders.
(My power went out…sighhhhh)
“Thank…you.” Connor turned his body to face Jas’s stomach. He hugged his waist resting his eyes and drifting into a deep sleep. It was surprisingly it was very warm and more comfortable than he though it would be. He would often hum or tense up before relaxing. The next morning he slowly leaned up rubbing his eyes. His hair was an absolute mess. His feather were no better and he found himself sitting on top of Jas like a baby. He didn’t actually register his position instead his just laid his head back down pulled the blanket further up on his shoulders. “Not yet…”
After Jas was able to register actually sleeping with Connor and the fact that he was actually there with him, he fell peacefully asleep with his hero, for what seemed like to be the first in a long while. Everytime Connor tensed has would instinctively hug him closer, curling around Connor protectively. Jas took a deep breath, eyes fluttering open when Connoe started shifting around. He watched as Connor sat up through tired eyes, a tired smile crossing his features as he took in Connor's appearance, assuming he looked equally as dishevelled. He wrapped his arms around Connor, receiving him in a secure hug as his hero lied back down against him. "We can stay here as long as you'd like." Jas murmured, stretching out with a sigh. He tucked Connor beneath his chin and kissed his brow. "Sleep well?" He breathed into his hair, savoring every moment he could get
(oh no! I hope you're okay, heard in some places got heavy rain and damage from the storms.)
(Yeah! I’m fine I’m at my friend's house cause I’m not staying at my house with no power lol)
Connor hummed nodding his head to the first question. He squeezed himself against Jas. “You’re like a giant teddy bear. I could hug you all day.” He groaned next to Jas’s ear. “What doo ok you say Mr. Teddy-Bear.” Connor looked at Jas’s face closely. “You are…” he rubbed his eyes. He jumped back. “J-J-Jas! What are you?!” Connor looked around and realized he fell asleep in the prison. “D-Did I fall asleep here?” He stuttered. His voice was higher than usual. It wasn’t his low voice that he usually had, only because it was morning. "Sorry, I didn't mean to." The feeling of Jas's hands made his face turn red with a shudder. "Jas…can you please take your hand off of my waist."
Jas slowly sat up and immediatly pulled his hand away from Connor's side at hearing his trembling voice. "Uhm yes, you did… But that's all! Just sleeping, nothing more." He reassured, Jas ran a hand through his tangled hair and took a deep breath, shaking his head. What had he been thinking? They weren't even friends, much less close enough to sleep together! He should have said no when Connor offered to go inside, should have called some the moment his hero had fallen asleep, should have at least asked if it was something Connor had wanted. But no, Jas had been selfish and decided, as long as they didn't do anything, it would have been fine to sleep with Connor. To savor that one moment even if oteant he'd never be able to do so again. He swallowed hard and shook his head again, trying his best to clear his mind from the fantasy he thought he had been living in for one night as well as his lingering sleepiness. "I-i know you didn't mean to." Because of course Connor hadn't wanted to actually spend the night particularly with Jas. He was sleepy, they both were. And Jas had offered a comfortable place to rest. Nothing more. "It's okay. They'll probably be looking for you soon." He said, waving to the hallway. "I'm the one should be apologising, I probably got you in trouble because of this."
"What? No, no, no. It's not your fault for anything. I don't want you thinking like that. I was just surprised because you were so close." Connor didn't remove himself from Jas. It was way too warm. "Besides, falling asleep with you was very warm, so if I get in trouble it was definitely worth it." He wrapped the blanket around his shoulders and laid down on Jas's shoulder. "I meant it when I could say here forever. You're warm, big, and squishy. It feels like I'm melting." He smiled. "I think it's okay if I get in trouble. It's not like I have anything better to do. They would call me if they need me for anything. But…do you want me to leave?" At this moment Connor's heart was racing but he didn't know why. It like if he said yes then he would heartbroken, but why would he be heartbroken if he didn't think of Jas like that. It was all so confusing. His heartbeat was loud that anyone who was close to him could feel it in their own chest. He was scared. For once in his life, he felt scared. He was never scared or something so silly. It was new for him.
A ghost of a smile flitted across Jas' features. "So I'm a teddy bear now, hm? From notorious villain, I have been downgraded to a stuffed bear." He shook his head in Michigan disbelief and carefully wrapped his arms around Connor again, making sure not to go lower than the mid back. "I'm glad you find me comfortable enough to in trouble over." He teased, affectionatly nudging Connor's head before tilting his head back to fully look at the other. "No, not particularly. I don't ever want you to leave. But I understand if you have to go. I know you have important work to do as a hero. I'll be okay here." He hugged Connor close and rested his head against the crook of his neck, not to tease or to get a reaction out of Connor but just to know his warmth, to feel his pulse and to know this was all real, and not some cruel dream he had put himself in. "We can stay here for as long as you'd like. I don't mind one bit."
Connor hummed, but soo enough his phone rang. He reached into his back pocket and took the call. "Hello? What is it……paper work really…..why can't Josh do it, it's literally his one and only job….he's out?! He's never out……..I swear I hate you and everyone in the fucking building……wait, why do I have to do it I'm a top hero, I have more important things to do…." That last bit was a lie. He just wanted to spend time with Jas. "Fine, whatever…." He hung up the phone, resisting the urge to throw it against the glass. He was angry and very much annoyed. He groaned placing his head back where it was before. "I don't want to go…" he whined. "It's so annoying. I'm sorry…." Connor stood up the blanket falling from off his shoulders. "This might take long so I probably won't be able to see you tonight. So, goodnight for now." He smiled and kissed Jas's cheek before walking to the door. He put the code in walked out of the cell.
Jas breathed a laugh "it's alright, dear. You have your job." He offered a small Ile and let Connor get up. "Goodnight, dear. I'll see you soon." He replied, leaning into the kiss slightly and gently squeezing Connors hand for a moment before letting him go. He watched as Connor put in the code and hummed softly before taking the blanket and pressing his face into it, breathing in Connor's lingering scent. He could leave now, he'd probably get to the entrance before they'd take him back but he could make a break for, especially with his abilities back. But Jas didn't want to go. The fact that there was a chance that Connor would come back made him want to stay and wait for his hero. So Jas plopped down and pulled over the books he had been brought, perking up Everytime he hard footsteps or someone talking down the hall
