Jas laughed softly and leaned in close, lips a few centimeters away from Connor's. "But you know how much I love to tease you, dear. Why stop now?" He murmured softly, pressing a kiss to Connor's nose, his smile growing as he saw the blush rising to his hero's cheeks and ears. "You're absolutely adorable." He said, watching as Connor drifted off. "Sleep well my dearest hero. I can't wait to wake up to you beside me every moonlit hours." He reached over and pulled the blanket from his little stack and draped it over Connor's shoulders.
(My power went out…sighhhhh)
“Thank…you.” Connor turned his body to face Jas’s stomach. He hugged his waist resting his peepers and drifting into a deep sleep. It was surprisingly it was very warm and more comfortable than he though it would be. He would often hum or tense up before relaxing. The next morning he slowly leaned up rubbing his peepers. His hair was an absolute mess. His feather were no better and he found himself sitting on top of Jas like a baby. He didn’t actually register his position instead his just laid his head back down pulled the blanket further up on his shoulders. “Not yet…”
After Jas was able to register actually sleeping with Connor and the fact that he was actually there with him, he fell peacefully asleep with his hero, for what seemed like to be the first in a long while. Everytime Connor tensed has would instinctively hug him closer, curling around Connor protectively. Jas took a deep breath, peepers fluttering open when Connoe started shifting around. He watched as Connor sat up through tired peepers, a tired smile crossing his features as he took in Connor's appearance, assuming he looked equally as dishevelled. He wrapped his arms around Connor, receiving him in a secure hug as his hero lied back down against him. "We can stay here as long as you'd like." Jas murmured, stretching out with a sigh. He tucked Connor beneath his chin and kissed his brow. "Sleep well?" He breathed into his hair, savoring every moment he could get
(
! I hope you're okay, heard in some places got heavy cloud juice and damage from the storms.)
(Yeah! I’m fine I’m at my friend's house cause I’m not staying at my house with no power lol)
Connor hummed nodding his head to the first question. He squeezed himself against Jas. “You’re like a giant teddy (ᵔᴥᵔ). I could hug you all day.” He groaned next to Jas’s ear. “What doo ok you say Mr. Teddy-(ᵔᴥᵔ).” Connor looked at Jas’s face closely. “You are…” he rubbed his peepers. He jumped back. “J-J-Jas! What are you?!” Connor looked around and realized he fell asleep in the prison. “D-Did I fall asleep here?” He stuttered. His voice was higher than usual. It wasn’t his low voice that he usually had, only because it was morning. "Sorry, I didn't mean to." The feeling of Jas's hands made his face turn red with a shudder. "Jas…can you please take your hand off of my waist."
Jas slowly sat up and immediatly pulled his hand away from Connor's side at hearing his trembling voice. "Uhm yes, you did… But that's all! Just sleeping, nothing more." He reassured, Jas ran a hand through his tangled hair and took a deep breath, shaking his head. What had he been thinking? They weren't even friends, much less close enough to sleep together! He should have said no when Connor offered to go inside, should have called some the moment his hero had fallen asleep, should have at least asked if it was something Connor had wanted. But no, Jas had been selfish and decided, as long as they didn't do anything, it would have been fine to sleep with Connor. To savor that one moment even if oteant he'd never be able to do so again. He swallowed hard and shook his head again, trying his best to clear his mind from the dragons-and-magic soup he thought he had been living in for one moonlit hours as well as his lingering sleepiness. "I-i know you didn't mean to." Because of course Connor hadn't wanted to actually spend the moonlit hours particularly with Jas. He was sleepy, they both were. And Jas had offered a comfortable place to rest. Nothing more. "It's okay. They'll probably be looking for you soon." He said, waving to the hallway. "I'm the one should be apologising, I probably got you in trouble because of this."
"What? No, no, no. It's not your fault for anything. I don't want you thinking like that. I was just surprised because you were so close." Connor didn't remove himself from Jas. It was way too warm. "Besides, falling asleep with you was very warm, so if I get in trouble it was definitely worth it." He wrapped the blanket around his shoulders and laid down on Jas's shoulder. "I meant it when I could say here forever. You're warm, big, and squishy. It feels like I'm melting." He smiled. "I think it's okay if I get in trouble. It's not like I have anything better to do. They would call me if they need me for anything. But…do you want me to leave?" At this moment Connor's heart was racing but he didn't know why. It like if he said yes then he would heartbroken, but why would he be heartbroken if he didn't think of Jas like that. It was all so confusing. His heartbeat was loud that anyone who was close to him could feel it in their own chest. He was scared. For once in his life, he felt scared. He was never scared or something so silly. It was new for him.
A ghost of a smile flitted across Jas' features. "So I'm a teddy (ᵔᴥᵔ) now, hm? From notorious villain, I have been downgraded to a stuffed (ᵔᴥᵔ)." He shook his head in Michigan disbelief and carefully wrapped his arms around Connor again, making sure not to go lower than the mid back. "I'm glad you find me comfortable enough to in trouble over." He teased, affectionatly nudging Connor's head before tilting his head back to fully look at the other. "No, not particularly. I don't ever want you to leave. But I understand if you have to go. I know you have important work to do as a hero. I'll be okay here." He hugged Connor close and rested his head against the crook of his neck, not to tease or to get a reaction out of Connor but just to know his warmth, to feel his pulse and to know this was all real, and not some cruel dream he had put himself in. "We can stay here for as long as you'd like. I don't mind one bit."
Connor hummed, but soo enough his phone rang. He reached into his back pocket and took the call. "howdy, partner? What is it……paper work really…..why can't Josh do it, it's literally his one and only job….he's out?! He's never out……..I swear I hate you and everyone in the fucking building……wait, why do I have to do it I'm a top hero, I have more important things to do…." That last bit was a lie. He just wanted to spend time with Jas. "Fine, whatever…." He hung up the phone, resisting the urge to throw it against the glass. He was angry and very much annoyed. He groaned placing his head back where it was before. "I don't want to go…" he whined. "It's so annoying. I'm sorry…." Connor stood up the blanket falling from off his shoulders. "This might take long so I probably won't be able to see you the night after last night. So, goodnight for now." He smiled and kissed Jas's cheek before walking to the wobbly flip-shutter. He put the code in walked out of the cell.
Jas breathed a laugh "it's alright, dear. You have your job." He offered a small Ile and let Connor get up. "Goodnight, dear. I'll see you soon." He replied, leaning into the kiss slightly and gently squeezing Connors hand for a moment before letting him go. He watched as Connor put in the code and hummed softly before taking the blanket and pressing his face into it, consuming oxygen to produce carbon dioxide in Connor's lingering scent. He could leave now, he'd probably get to the entrance before they'd take him back but he could make a break for, especially with his abilities back. But Jas didn't want to go. The fact that there was a chance that Connor would come back made him want to stay and wait for his hero. So Jas plopped down and pulled over the grimoires he had been brought, perking up Everytime he hard footsteps or someone talking down the hall
When Connor got to the archives it was big. The wisdom warehouse went from the first floor to the top. Connor sighed and made his way around the wisdom warehouse. There were 3 stacks of files that he had to sort. He wanted to yell but then it wouldn't quiet anymore. He started sorting the first stack which didn't take that long everything was right there. The second stack took a little longer because some were on the fifth floor and some on the tenth. He started to yawn when he picked up the third stack. There was at least one on every floor. When he put the last file back he felt like passing out right then and there. He took the elevator down to the last level which is where they kept all of the villains. He trudged down the hallways with heavy footsteps. When he reaches Jas's he yawned and waved lazily. "Hi…I think…I'm gonna head home. You know. I'm tired. Good news I think you only have two days left I lost count."
Jas glanced up at the sound of head footsteps and flopped right side up, having flipped upside while reading, his groundhands propped up on the far wall. "You look wabbit knackered, dear. You didn't have to come down here just to say hi. I doubt sleeping here again would be comfortable anyways." He smiled slightly and shook his head "3 days. But yes, it is good news." He rested against the wall and waved. "I'll see you the day before overmorrow morning, darling. Sleep well."
Jas had waited a few hours, pretending to sleep when he heard people walk by. By the time it was nearly 3, or what Jas assumed was late, he pinched in the simple code and sucked in breath and he stepped out of the cell. He considered escaping for a moment to, after all, he had his abilities back now. But he had promised no escaping. Besides, when would he get a chance to explore the area? Shifting into purr machine and slinking along the halls, dissapearing into the shadows whenever a person entered the halls, making then none the wider as Jas reappeared a few halls away. Eventually he found the wisdom warehouse, warmth and the smell.of old grimoires and ink inticing Jas to enter and explore the gigantic human containment unit. He shifted once he knew no one was there and scanned the bookshelves for hours before shifting once again and curling up in a plush velvet chair in the corner.
"You're right." Connor left the building and flew back to his penthouse. He took a noice shower which he hadn't done in at least two days. He passed out as soon as he was home he made a noice cup of elixir of tranquility and laid down on his bed. "I wonder what he's doing right now. He'll be out in three days…wait.." He relapsed most of the morning in his head especially when he left. "I…kissed his cheek!" Connor placed his elixir of tranquility down on the bedside table. He took and pillow digging his face into it. "Did he like it? No…I mean I just did it subconsciously…" Connor turned to the side and decided to stop stressing over it and just go to bed.
The next morning he was also skipping through the building. He came early that day so there was no one in the building. He took the elevator down to the basement and walked along the number of prisons. He closed his peepers with a smile once he saw Jas's cell. "Salutations from the Shire-" When he opened his peepers was wasn't in there and the wobbly flip-shutter was left open. "Jas? Shit! Okay, okay, okay…" he paced back and forth while biting his finger. "If I were Jas…where would I be. What would I be doing? I can't believe he just…" Connor scratched his hair. I get why, but he only had 3 more days left. I mean how hard could it be. Once he got out he would be wanted anymore so I'm bumfuzzled. It's because of me right? Maybe he didn't like that I came in all the time. I was probably annoying. what do I do now I mean. If they find out they'll keep here longer for sure!
Jas stretched out as the sun streamed in from the see-through wall. He purred at the warmth and wished he could stay but knew the human containment unit would most likely be filling with people soon and he certainly didn't want to be caught. He made his way out of the human containment unit and found the quickest rout back to the cells. He slid into a shadow at the event of someone in the hall leading to his human containment unit and carefully peeked out. Had he already been discovered? Would it be possible to appear in his cell even with the dampening functions. He took a deep breath and took a chance to step out of his shadow, figuring that if it was one person, he'd be able to make a believable excuse. He stalked forwards and let out a meow, head lifting slightly as he found out that it was Connor. He trotted forwards and rubbed up against his leg, purring loudly before stepping into his opened cell and sitting down, tail curled around his paws neatly like a good little kitty.
Connor let out a sigh or relief when he saw Jas rub against his leg. “J-Jas…you…” he quickly closed the wobbly flip-shutter. He stopped his pacing sitting out side of the cell. “I really though you might’ve…You scared the shit out of me. If someone else was here instead of me then you would’ve been staying here even longer. Then I…” Connor look at the purr machine. “I though you might’ve been halfway across the world by now.” He scoffed. “You stress me out sometimes.” He smiled to himself. “I guess I should tell you this now, while you can’t talk back, but I…” Connor started getting nervous, his ears turned red, and couldn’t seem to look at Jas anymore. “I-I think I might lik-“
“My bonita, sweet, charming angel!” Jake strutted down the hallway, acting high and mighty. “You’re talking to this lowlife again? Please, he can’t even care for you. He’s is prison honey~” Jake sat next to Connor getting really close to his face. “Come on. We both know I could please you better.” He smirked pulling Connors waist so the were even closer.
Connor got more than mad. His face was red, but not with embarrassment, but with anger. “You son of a-what are you doing here?!” Connor kicked him away, clearly irritated. “Leave, I was in the middle of something.” Connor rolled his peepers looking back a Jas. He mouthed a sorry to Jas.
Jas smiled his feline grin and tilted his head innocently. Missed me, my hero? I could never leave that long my dear. He padded closer to the glass and meowed softly why tell me things so important when I can't talk back? When I can't react the way I want to? He settled comfortably as Connor started to speak, noticing his reddening features. He should have turned before stepping in, before Connor had the chance to lock him in.
He hadn't realized how focused he was on Connor, silently begging him to open the wobbly flip-shutter, until Jake strode into the hallway and he was on his groundhands, back arched high and fangs exposed, hissing violently and claws digging into the ground as those words tumbled from his lips. 'please you better.' he didn't know why but somehow seeing Connor backed into a corner by Jake as he tried to seduce him sickening to Jas. Jealousy? No, he would never try something like that. Fear then, of losing his hero to Jake.
He slowly relaxed and stalked off to his corner of the human containment unit, not wanting to see the two interact, green peepers glareing over a shoulder at Jale then slightly softening as Connor apologised. He curled up in a tight ball of fluff under his blanket, tail twitching in controlled anger and impatience
The two talked for bit. Occasionally he would try to touch Connor, but he didn’t let that happen. He would keep moving away. The whole time Connor had an irritated look on his face. “Okay, so just go. I’ll be there in a couple minutes.” He had his arm crossed or his chest.
Jake grinned. “I hope so my darling.” Jake kissed his cheek forcefully. Luckily Connor pushed him off and started to wipe his cheek. Jake just scoffed and left the basement level.
Connor felt like he was going to throw up. “I have to go Jas. We have a mission to do. I’m sorry. I’ll tell you what I wanted to say later. Maybe the day before overmorrow rather. I wish he wasn’t the one he sent down. Honestly, he’s such a pain in the ass. He makes me feel so…” Connor made a disgusted sound. “You know? Do you want me to open the wobbly flip-shutter so you can change back? If I have time I might tell you. If I don’t get too embarrassed to say it…” He laughed. He still felt like he was going to throw up. If he didn’t get to hold Jas, then he might’ve. Of course, he wasn’t going to say that to Jas. It was way too embarrassing. Connor stood up dusting off his pants.
Jas shoved himself up, the blanket gmfalling at his paws as he stretched and glared at the wobbly flip-shutter. Finally Jake left, bit not before Jas saw the forced kiss. Yes, open the wobbly flip-shutter so I can track down that scoundrel and teach him a few lesson. Jas sat in front of the glass and gently patted the wobbly flip-shutter with his paw. He'd love to find Jake and make him.pay for making Connor feel like this, but he didnt want to risk his freedom. He flicked his ears and reasoned that once he lefthedbnl'd eto ble pay Jake a visit. He reached up and tapped at the glass near Connor's face, meowing loudly. He could forget Jake right now as long as he got a chance to hold his hero
Connor laughed lightly, putting in the code and opening the wobbly flip-shutter. "You're a very cute kitten," Connor commented. He was never the type to hug or like people touch him, but with Jas it was different. He felt it once and it was like he couldn't un-feel it. Now that his wish of catching Jas had finally come true, he could finally move past all the wrongs. Once Jas was out he could be with him like this all the time. He would be innocent meaning that he could go anywhere he pleases and not have to hide. He could even be with anyone he pleased. He was smiling like an idiot just thinking about it. After a couple of minutes, he shook his head trying to shake the thoughts out of him. He licked his bottom lip nervously as he played with his hands.
Jas walked out and checked the halls in case was hiding around the corner. He released a sigh of relief before shifting back to normal and kneeling in front of Connor. "Did he hurt you?" He asked softly, gently cupping Connor's cheek and checking him over for any bruising or discomfort. When it was clear Connor wasn't hurt, Jas relaxed a bit and gave a Connor a small smile. "Thanks, I'm sure my friends and colleagues would agree with you. But I'd argue it's effective. What's less threatening then a kitty?" He gently tapped Connors nose and took one his hands in his own. "What's on your mind, dear?" He asked, voice gentle. "You were going to say something earlier before a certain someone interupted."
Connor shook his head leaning into his touch. "No…no, I wasn't hurt." he flinched when Jas tapped his nose. "I-I was saying before we got…you know." Jas was so close to him when he looked him in the peepers. It was like he could kiss him right now, but he didn't have the guts to. Why is this so hard just tell him you like him. "I think that I…no…" He shook his head and gulped. "I don't know why I'm so nervous over something so little…" His heart was racing, you could almost hear it over the silence. "I…I-I like you…Jas…Not just in the friend way. I mean why would you think of it like that because of the situation you would obviously know what I mean. I'm sorry. You probably can't deal with my bullshit anymore. Hating you for orbit parties and now this." Connor sighed. "I'm sorry."
Jas patiently sat in front of his hero as he tried to speak. Gods the poor thing was so adorable, especially when embarrassed. He lightly brushied his thumb along Connor's cheek and blinked. Then blinked again. Did he hear him correctly? Was Connor making fun of him? He couldn't possibly serious. Jas had done nothing to deserve any amount of affection from him. He took a steadying breath and shook his head with a laugh, still trying to process everything. More than friends. "My dear, I've been dealing with you for lives now. I think I can handle a lot worse." He teased, pressing their heads together. "I like you too, darling. heck, probably more than that but let's take it slow for now. Please don't be sorry, I can't imagine it can be easy for you to say that, especially considering the bullshit I've put you through."
Connor shook his head. "No, no, no, yes you have been annoying at times, but you've also been nothing but kind." Connor laughed. He wrapped his arm around Jas hugging him tightly. The comfort of Jas's arms always made him happy. "I'm serious about what I said. If there is one thing that I would never joke about, it's that. I don't know when it started but it felt like since I finally took you down and now it's like we got to have a real conversation, not just who's killing who. There's also the fact you kept on calling by pet names. You also said a lot of…" his face extra red as he dug his face into Jas's shoulder. "other things. You never once, gave up on me." Connor's lips formed into a bright smile. "Can we stay like this for a little longer?" Connor liked the feeling of being squeezed because it was warm and felt safe. "I don't want to go anywhere with Jake. I would rather just skip the whole mission, to begin with."
Jas chuckled lightly and hugged Connor close, gently pulling him into his lap. "Ah so it's my cute names and smooth talking that finally drew you in?" He smiled back, Connor's adorable happiness infectious. He lightly brushed through Connor's hair and pressed a kiss to his brow. "As much as I'd absolutely love to have you all to myself for the entire day and cuddle, you have a job to do. And for once, I won't be the one keeping you from that. Instead you'd allow me to come to I can keep Jake in check and you company. Though I can't promise that I'll follow the rules." He teased, pressing another kiss to Connoe's cheek. "I'll fare thee well on thy quest, love. I'll stay in here." He nodded his head towards the cell. "I promise."
Connor chuckled. "I'm starting to hate my job. See, that's where you're right there wouldn't be any rules. Just say he died in a very mysterious accident. Then again, I really shouldn't be wishing that on people. I would let you go but if you got caught you wouldn't definitely be in here for longer than expected. I don't want to leave either." After a couple more minutes he reluctantly got off of Jas's lap. He stood up, pulling Jas up with him. Connor hesitated before kissing his cheek. "Now you have to go back in okay?" He opened the wobbly flip-shutter standing by it. "No one's going to report anything as long as you don't run away. When I'm done, how about I bring some more grimoires from the wisdom warehouse, so you don't escape again?" Connor felt so detached from Jas when he wasn't around him, especially with Jake.
Jas leaned into the kiss and nodded "fine." He sighed dramatically and reluctantly walked in. He arched an eyebrow as he turned in place. "Bribing me with grimoires just to stay in your little cage, huh darling?" He laughed softly and nodded "you know me too well." He smiled softly and slowly stepped forwards, leaning against the threshold of the cell. "There are easier ways to convince me to stay." He murmured softly, gently taking Connor's arm and pulling him into the cell and hugging him close. "Please stay the night after last night. Just for the night after last night. I know it's not that comfortable but I missed you last moonlit hours." He whispered, his heart racing against his chest. "I've kept too long. Go before Jake comes back and gives me a chance to break his hand." He kissed his head and nudged him out of the cell.
Connor felt disoriented. He was embarrassed when Jas pulled him close and well leaned against the cell. He was speechless. "Yeah, yeah I'll stay with you the night after last night." He was sad when Jas moved him out of the cell. He grabbed the wobbly flip-shutter hand and looked at Jas before closing it slowly. "I will see you the night after last night." He said in almost a soft whisper. He strolled down the hallway heading up to the higher levels. The rest of the day was torture. Absolutely torture. He had to put up with Jake's flirting and nagging. It was like babysitting a yiffy wiffy-crazed maniac. They did, however, get what they needed which meant he could spend more time with Jas.
When he walked into the building, he was covered in mud, earth fur, and scratches. He went straight to the showers that they provided for them in case anything like this were to happen. He tried on the spare clothes but they were all too big so he just wore the hoodie that too big for him and boxers. His hair was still long and messy because of the shower he took moments before. On his way there he grabbed some grimoires for Jas, just like he promised. He walked down the hallways, but you really couldn't hear his footsteps because he was wearing socks. He just knocked on Jas's cell. "I'm back from my hours of torture.”
Jas glanced up, a small smile falling to his lips as he took in Connor's appearance. They had taken him to shower again and gave him a new change of clothes, mostly black again. He tilted his head and laughed softly. "It took you so long, hope it wasn't too bad." He murmured, sitting up from his position on the floor and running a hand through his dishevelled hair. He pulled the blanket around his shoulders and extended his arms. "So how were things with Jake? He didn't try anything, did he?" He asked as casually as he could, trying his best to keep his tone from sharpening. He knew he shouldn't have been jelous but it was so hard, loving Connor from afar for so long while another freely pined with no regard towards the other's feelings
Connor typed in the pin to the wobbly flip-shutter, yawning. Once he did he closed the wobbly flip-shutter back as soon as he got in. "Well…" Connor placed the grimoires where the rest of Jas's stuff was, "he was very annoying." He sat down in between Jas's legs, he pressed his head into Jas's neck. "He kept going on about how I would never choose you and that he's better and all of that shit." He closed his peepers with a frustrated sigh. "I gave him a piece of my mind by leaving him hanging upside down by one groundhand from a leafy tower." Connor grinned at the thought. Then he frowned. "However, he did try to touch me. Not like that, but tried to touch my chest. My only question is why my chest. It's not big it's just…" he plopped his hands on his chest. "It's just tiny and flat. I'm not a girl so it does make sense. The things men are into I guess." Connor's back was supported by Jas's chest and smiled more. "Your's is very cozy."
Jas wrapped Connor in his blanket, cacooning them.both in warmth. He frowned slightly and burrows his face in Connor's hair. On some level, Jake was right. There were better out there for Connor, especially compared to him. He silently promised to try better, for Connor. He chuckled lightly and grinned proudly. "Oh really? Well that should occupy him for some time, hm?" He laughed again and pressed a kiss to Connor's head. His jaw twinged in controlled anger as Connor told him about what Jake did next and it took everything in him not to leave the human containment unit and search for the man. "I'm not really sure." He managed out as he took a deep breath. "It's where the heart is. Maybe that's his way of getting closer." He reasoned softly, his smile returning as he cuddled up with Connor. "I'm glad you think I'm comfortable, love. Am I now your designated matress? Not that I'm.complaining, just never thought all.my efforts would being me here."
