"as fine as one can get in this situation, I suppose." Jas replied, arching an eyebrow at Connor. "Are you worried about me, dear? I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted." He chuckled lightly and shifted in his seat, trying his best to get comfortable. "Distract me a little, tell me, what's it like in your little organization?" He asked, tilting his head curiously. He could honestly care less about the place. Other than the fact that Connor was a part of it, has could find no real appeal to joining. He supposed in an ideal world, he would want to join eventually but there were too many things he found wrong with the organization for that to ever happen.
Connor thought for a moment. "Well, it's mostly quiet. People getting coffee, watching out for people like you. There's also this training center, but really only two people go there. I've seen them make out on the mat once. I guess they got to physical." Connor chuckled. "There are a lot of crazy people with crazy powers. Like this one guy who won't go anywhere without an umbrella because he has the power of darkness as he likes to call it when in reality he just plays with shadows and can make you do funny things. There are a lot of people over there. You should come and see it, I mean without the handcuffs."
Jas nodded slightly, a small smile quirking at his lips at the mention of the couple in the training room and the shadow man. If he hadn't known better, he'd assume the place was like every other mundane job, of course save for the fact that people had abilities.
"I'm not too fond of crowds but yes, I guess it would be nice to visit my enemy's territory. Of course for my own gain." He teased. He glanced out he window, watching the skyline as the sun began to fall. "It wouldn't be fair to be invited to your organization without you meeting my own. Though not quite as large as yours, I think you'll find just as interesting if you ever want to drop by." He mused with a small shrug. "How long exactly will I be staying with your organization? I'm afraid I do have another life I live other than being a neucance to you, dear."

(It is though…dang that hurt my heart)
Connor rolled his eyes. "Yeah, you would definitely want to go only for business. You're not a nuisance, you're my job. I don't think of you like that. I don't know how long…you killed a lot of people…Maybe a life sentence, I don't know. You'll be in a power dampening room too. You did a lot of bad things, so I don't know. They might ask you to become a hero in all honesty that's your best bet of not rotting in jail for the rest of your life." Just then they came in to pick them up. "Here's our ride. Are you ready?" He lifted Jas onto his feet and started to both of them to the car. Connor stood behind him making sure he wouldn't try anything.
(aw :D)
"Somehow, that's worse." Jas muttered, watching as Connor stood and helped him up. "Have any of you actually looked into why I've killed those people? Did you ever stop to think that those that are now dead, deserved to to die? Or even if they are dead in the first place?" He asked, twisting around so that he look at Connor. "Not all of us are the same dearest." A sharp shiver shot down his back at the mention of the room. Yes he'd have some ability bit not enough to actually help him escape if he ever were so inclined. Jas shook his head at the question but reluctantly climbed into the car, flashing a smirk at the driver before curling up in the corner. "You'd do the same if roles were reversed, darling hero."
The driver shivered. Connor got in the back seat as well sitting next to Jas. "See it's not the fact that you killed bad people, it's the fact that you killed people. If you were normal you would be taken to court. Since you're not the same process just for people with powers. Special treatment." Connor leaned back against the seat and closed his eyes. "We have a long ride…excuse me…" Connor started to nod off to sleep, resting his head on Jas's shoulder. He knew this wasn't easy for Jas considering his powers are gone for a short time. For Jas, it probably felt like ages.
Jas stayed silent as Connor spoke, the same phrase echoing in his mind. 'if you were normal.' If only he could make Connor understand why he killed those people. He could have explained that not all those people were in fact dead, just a handful. The rest were sent away, given a second chance to change their lives. Whatever happened to them afterwards wasn't jas' problem. He took in a shaky breath, willing himself not to cry in agony and long pent up rage at the world. He watched as Connor drifted off to sleep, finding some sense of calm as his features turned serene and peaceful. "if I were normal would you give me a chance?" He whispered softly, gently pressing a kiss to his beloved hero's brow before trying to calm alseep himself.
Connor nuzzled his head into Jas's shoulder with a smile. "I wouldn't change a thing about you…" he whispered back before falling completely asleep. The driver gagged at the affection the two shared towards each other. He rolled up the window so the people in the back couldn't see the front. Later on, throughout the drive, Connor shot up from his sleep. He was sweaty and breathing heavy almost like he had a nightmare. He rubbed his eyes not fully understanding where he was just yet. Until he realized that he was transporting Jas to the organization.
Jas smiled softly "liar." He murmured, settling as comfortably as he could against the corner of the car and with Connor resting on him. He rested his head against Connor's, breathing in his comforting scent, the movement of the car and Connor's steady breathing lulling him to sleep. He jolted awake and talked, trying his best to stretch before realizing he still had the cuffs on. "And here I thought this was a beautiful dream." Jas murmured, glancing over at Connor. "Everything alright, dear?"
Connor whipped his head over and shook his hand. "What? Yeah, yeah, everything is fine…" For the first time in a long time, Connor blushed when he was called dear by Jas. He never really blushed to little things like that, but this one time had his ears turning red. Connor noticed he was trying to stretch so he moved the handcuff in front of Jas instead of behind. He knew it was probably a bad idea to do this considering Jas could knock him out and try to escape, but if he was uncomfortable then he felt like he had to. "Forget you ever saw that…please?"
Jas tilted his head curiously, an amused smile spreading on his lips. "How very curious." He mused softly, itching to reach out and touch Connor's resending cheeks. He was surprised that Connor would let him move so freely, even in cuffs. Gratefully, he stretched out completely, satisfying cracking out his sore back and pulling at strained tendons. He glanced out the tinted windows, his happiness faltering as he remembered where he was going. Connor's plea turned his attention away from the thought and smirked. "Oh not a chance, my hero. Not for the rest of our many lives."
Connor turned back to Jas with a glare. "Why can't you just forget about it. It's embarrassing…" He places his hand over his eyes. His face was still red as a tomato. For once he smiled with all his teeth showing. It was an embarrassing smile. "You know, today you're bringing out all of my emotions. Just so you know I never thought you were a bad person. You think you're a bad person, but you're just so, I don't know." Connor had his full body turn towards Jas.
"because I'd rather die then forget. Even the small, embarrassing moments." Jas replied with a genuine smile of his own. He couldn't remember back the last time he enjoyed himself so freely with Connor. "Well, that makes one of us. But thank you. It truly means a lot to me that you consider me," he waved his cuffed hands in the air, semi jokingly "something else, something unknown to you. Must keep that mystery element in our relationship, no?" He laughed softly, tilting his head to the side.
Connor smirked. "What relationship? We're not romantically involved. At least not…" He stopped himself from saying the next word. Stop it, stop it, stop it, you can't be thinking like that. I mean you're sending him to jail. It's not like he can touch me or kiss me or hold me late at night…No, no, no just no Connor…You're never going to see him again, so just forget it. Why was I even thinking that he's been finessing me for years, so why now? Connor shook his head to get himself out of his thoughts. He was having a full monologue in his head, it almost made his brain want to explode. "You sure have a way with words…Can I know you're real name? You would think we know it already since we work with the government, but you sure know how to hide."
Jas arched an eyebrow, his smile faltering. "At least not what?" He asked, trying to look in Connor's eyes. He so badly wanted to reach out, to find any shred of hope that they could be more than just a hero and a villain. More than play the cat and mouse game they'd have going for years now. Just say it, please. Give me a chance. I'd give anything to have you by my side every morning and night. I'd give the world and all our past lives to be called yours. Say the words and it shall be done. He was so close, his hands a mere inch or two away from Connors, waiting for a sign that'd he'd be accepted by his darling hero. "M-my name?" He drew back, hands back in his lap, blinking rapidly and shaking himself from his thoughts. He laughed softly and shook his head, you're a fool for ever thinking he'd actually want you. He took in a wavering breath and nodded slightly. "I do have a knack for dissapearing at the most convenient moments, don't I?" He shrugged. "My name is Jasper. But I prefer Jas." He replied softly.
Connor gulped when they were so close. At that moment he wanted to tackle him and kiss him, but then again they were in a car, and by the time he moved closer Jas had moved away. That was dumb, like hell he would want to kiss me…even though he says it a lot…it's fine…calm down… Connor blinked at the name Jas. "You have a very pretty name, just like you…." Connor scratched the back of his neck realizing that he said something he should have out loud. "I mean at least not um…I-I…I meant that…" Connor bit his lip nervously. "You know what it's nothing I didn't mean to say that out loud. You know me in my head." He laughed nervously. "Well I mean you don't know me, but I mean we have been getting on each other's nerves for like years. I didn't want to know your name because we need to have your name, but because I wanted to know because I wanted…to say that I…you-I-um…that we may not be in a relationship now, but I don't find it repulsive when you flirt with me or move close to me…physically and emotionally…" Connor trailed off continuing to chew on his lip. "You know what just forget what I said, it doesn't matter!" Connor tried his best to go back to his emotionless expression, but it wasn't working all too well. His ears were still red as a stop sign as well his face. It kind of just looked like he was pouting.
A soft smile appeared on his lips, heat rising to his cheeks. Gods above Connor was going to be the death if him. He waited patiently as Connor rambled, find him adorable as he tried to process his emotions and wirds. Jas couldn't helpt but laugh at the pout. "Oh you sweet creature, what am I going to do with you." He murmured. "If I had known you would confess such desires and emotions now, I would have voluntarily gone to jail a long time ago."stHa eased, though he himself could barely keep his own emotions in check. He wasn't put off by his flirting or his attempts to get close…but there still was that thin line Jas wouldn't cross yet.
"I've told you before, I don't want to forget." He said softly, snapping his head up as the car came to a stop. He took a deep breath, heart pounding in his chest. "Can you at least come and visit?" He asked, fear rising in his chest.
Connor saw the building up ahead and knew they were almost there. "If I'm free then I may come to visit…" Connor saw someone he hated waiting outside and his smile went straight to a frown and his mood fell exponentially. "We're here," he said in a dry voice. Connor placed the handcuff behind Jas's back again. When the car finished parking, Conor rushed out, slamming the door behind him.
"Baby! How nice to see you!" A man touched his shoulder and Connor slapped it violently.
"Don't fucking touch me and stop calling me that you psycho. Still can't believe they let you in as a hero. You have no self-control, Jake." Connor went to the other side of the car helping Jas out and slamming the door behind him.
The man grabbed Connor's chin and pulled it towards him. "Don't be like that my sweet…" He moved close to his ear. "I know you like it." He smirked.
Connor grabbed his wrist twisting it behind his back almost breaking his arm. "You do that again you're dead." He kicked him to the ground and turned back to Jas. "Sorry about him, he used to be a villain. He's obsessed with me and it creeps me out." He shivered. "Anyway, let's walk you in."
Jake groaned on the ground. "I'll win your love one day!"
Jas nodded his thanks before he glanced out the window again, narrowing his eyes as he saw someone standing in front of what he assumed to be the headquarters. He arched a delicate eyebrow as he stepped out of the car and regarded Jake. He tilted his head animalisrically, baring his teeth slightly as Jake made a move towards Connor, his abilily pressing against the cuffs. How dare he. He had already formulated a plant to lung at the man, had sunk into a fight instance ever so slightly in case the opportunity arises. But it never did. With a feline smile, Jas watch as Connor twisted Jake's hand and arm behind his back, silently begging him to break it. He turned away from the man as he Connor led them inside, the smile still playing at his lips. "It's understandable. At least some of us know what boundaries are." Jas shrugged and took a deep breath. How close was he to Jake? After all, he too loved Connor. Did he creep Connor out too? He shook himself from the thought, repulsed by the mere thought if ever violating Connor in anyway deemed uncomfortable by him. "Care to explain that little piece of history?" He purred with a grin, nodding back towards Jake
Connor looked at him confused? "Jake? Do you mean? No, no, no don't get the wrong idea, he just another villain I caught a while back. He keeps harassing me. For some reason, he got into the thick skull that I'm in love with him and we're dating, but we're really not. I really hate it when people whisper in my ear it's one of my sensitive spots. So, that's why I almost broke his arm. Other than that he's just a dick you can't keep his distance." Connor sighed opened the doors letting Jas in, but slamming it in Jake's face. "Don't worry you're nothing like him. If anything I find it sweet. The way you growled at him like you were going to rip his head off was funny too. For the record, if you did do that I wouldn't report it…" He whispered that last part. His tone lightened up. "Don't worry, I'll be the only one escorting you. A gut feeling tells me that if someone tried to touch you, you would get very angry. Just a hunch." Connor started to walk next to him instead of behind him. "Now when we get there, I'm gonna take your handcuffs off for a second so I can put you in the cell. Do you really want to do this?"
Jas nodded with a small smile "good to know." He murmured, a shy smile on his lips as Connor called him cute. He looked around the building as they stepped inside, surprised to find it relatively empty save for a few people walking about. "Well, that depends on who. If it's you, I don't mind. If it's someone like Jake, I can almost guarantee a limb will be lost. But thank you. I appreciate the sentiment." He nodded to Connor, focusing back on the hero next to him. "You must have low standards if you took in soeeone like Jake. That or must be desperate." He teased with a laugh. He nodded slightly when Connor started explaining what would happen to him. He took a deep breath and shrugged "I doubt that now would be the time to say no, considering we're already here."
Connor waved his hand. "No, no honestly he was great when he first started, but then he just got really annoying. It's not like we can just arrest him because we removed all the charges." Connor stood behind him, ready to take off the handcuff. "It's never too late to say no. I haven't put you in the cell yet, right? So, I'll ask you once more time…" Conor pressed the button opening the empty cell. "Are you sure you want to do this?" A part of Connor was hoping he would say no and not have to go to jail, but another part of him knew that it might hurt him in the long run. He might have to work with the people he offended. He offended a lot of people.
"Its almost as if you want me to say 'yes' dear." Jas mused, glancing over his shoulder at Connor. "As much as I'm honored that you're willing to break the rules for me, I don't think your higher-ups would be too happy if you took me in, then suddenly let me go for no reason." He looked into the vacant cell, and took a nervous breath in. While Jas had never really been bothered by tight spaces, somehow the fact that he'd be alone, in a room that surpressed his abilities so that he was virtually helpless, wasn't something that sit well with him. "I'll be alright." He reassured, more to himself than to Connor.
“All right. They’ll decide the charges tomorrow. You won’t be there. I’ll come visit when I can.” He took the the handcuffs, walking Jas into the cell and closing it quickly. “Maybe it won’t be as bad. Maybe you’ll get off with a month or something…” He trailed off. He got a call in his cell phone and picked it up. “What…..no I’m off of work now….I’ll be going home soon anyway….no I don’t need you to walk me home, I’m a grown ass man Jake! How did you even get my number?! It doesn’t matter I’ll leave in a little bit.” Connor looked at Jas through the cell. “I have to go soon. I’ll tell you how the trial goes tomorrow.” Connor leaned against the glass. “Tomorrow will be very boring…”
