He shook his head a little bit, laughing softly to himself. "Alright then." he shrugging his shoulders.
(Oh, yeah, I had a little laugh at that. He'd do great as a pirate. :)
Mycah shrugged as well, like 'what could you do?' They were nearly to the store, and Mycah was looking forward to getting in and out as fast as possible.
(yeah lol i mean, true)
Winter smiled a little, shaking his head to himself. He held the door open for Mycah as they came to the store.
Mycah walked into the store and pulled the list out again. Dish soap, cards, cinnamon. Very different things– they'd be going all around the store for those. They glanced around, looking for the baking aisle first.
Winter peeked at the list over their shoulder, then gestured. "This way for the cinnamon." He pointed out the aisle and started walking.
Mycah nodded and followed Winter into the aisle. They looked up and down, trying to find the spices, then spotted them and walked over to them. Now, where could they find the cheapest cinnamon… Mycah tapped their chin, looking over the prices of the various brands. This was so weird.
Winter stood back a little bit. "I'll be right back." He went over and grabbed a basket, then came back. "Got a basket." He explained.
Mycah nodded. They had completely forgotten about something to put all their stuff in and were glad Winter had remembered. After a few more seconds of contemplation, they grabbed a container of cinnamon and carefully put it into the basket.
Winter nodded a little bit. "Alright, what next?" He asked, knowing that Mycah had the list. "Maybe we should put the list in the basket, so we can both see?"
Mycah held out the list, then put it into the basket. They pointed at the words 'dish soap', then looked up at Winter with a questioning look. By the gods, this non-stop humming thing was getting really annoying. Mycah would do anything to get a magic amulet.
Winter nodded a little bit, and led Mycah to the correct section, holding the basket over his arm.
Mycah had no idea what kind of dish soap they should get. There were way too many different kinds, so they ended up grabbing the cheapest one again. They held it up to Winter, tilting their head slightly to ask if he agreed.
Winter shrugged a little bit. "Yeah, sure." He replied with a little smile, still holding the basket under one arm.
Mycah nodded and set the soap bottle into the container, then tapped the final item on their list. They had no idea where they would find playing cards, either… maybe in the front of the store?
Winter looked around, frowning a little bit. "Maybe near the toy section? That's usually where games are kept." he suggested, still looking around the store.
Mycah nodded and started towards the toy section, hoping there weren't a lot of people over there. They wanted to take a break from humming, at least for a few seconds.
Winter walked with them, still holding the basket and sighing softly. He didn't know what to say, if anything, so he just remained quiet.
Thank Elief. The toy section was mostly empty, and the one person there seemed to be leaving. Mycah glanced around, then turned to face one of the shelves and stopped humming. "Gods, that's tiring," They sighed, looking up at Winter.
Winter laughed a little. "Ah. Sorry. I can't really help you there." He replied with a slight shrug. "But let's find cards?"
"Yeah. Then we can go back and maybe I could figure out how to put the disguising magic into something." Mycah said softly, taking a deep breath. They glanced around, glad that there weren't any people around to make them have to start humming again. "You seen any?"
He nodded a little, then shook his head. "Not yet." He started looking around the shelves, humming quietly under his breath as he looked.
"Hmm," Mycah sighed and turned to look at the shelves on the other side of the aisle. Honestly, why did these cards have to be so hard to find? All they wanted to do was grab the stuff on the list and go back to the house.
Winter eventually located a pack, putting them in the basket. "Anything else we gotta grab?" he asked, just as antsy to leave as Mycah.
Mycah sighed in relief and shook their head. "Nope. Let's get out of here." They took a deep breath and started humming, then walked towards the front of the store.
He nodded. "We need to check out, though." he replied softly as he followed Mycah over to the registers.
