Sop hummed in thought. “What’s your favorite book? Or author,” he asked. “I know it can be hard to choose.”
Sop hummed in thought. “What’s your favorite book? Or author,” he asked. “I know it can be hard to choose.”
"Ooh, yeah, that's hard…" Joey considered for a bit, humming thoughtfully. "I don't really know… I've read a lot of good ones. Do you have any particular favorites?"
“I like The Count of Monte Cristo,” Sol replied after a moment. “And The Lord of the Rings. The story is good and I think it’s interesting to see how humans imagine other creatures.”
"Ooh, yeah…" Joey hummed again, resting his head on Sol's shoulder. "Those are good. Les Miserables is nice as well. Not for the same reasons obviously."
“That is a good one,” Sol agreed. Shifting carefully, he spread his wings across the ottoman behind him, stretching a bit with a content sigh.
Joey stretched out as well, getting comfortable against Sol. "Mmm… what's your favorite… kind of bird?" He asked, laughing softly at himself.
“Probably shima-enaga,” Sol answered with a laugh. “I saw them when I visited Japan a few years ago. They’re absolutely adorable.”
"Ooh, nice! I think I like… snow buntings. They're cute and round and little!" He smiled brightly. "I think they're neat."
“I think you’re cute,” Sol said, returning Joey’s smile. “And I can’t say I’ve ever seen a snow bunting, I’ll have to look up a picture later.”
Joey flushed lightly at that and wrapped his wings around himself a bit, smiling gently up at Sol. "Thanks… and I think you'll like them! They're cute. Do you have any other questions?"
Sol hummed in thought, lightly brushing Joey’s wing. “If you could live anywhere, where would you live?”
"Hm… I've heard Switzerland is nice. Peaceful, has chocolate… It might be kinda cold, though, and I don't do well in the cold." Joey hummed thoughtfully.
“Switzerland is very nice. I’ve only been a couple times in recent decades, but i’m sure you’d like it,” Sol said. “It is cold, though, so you’d have to bundle up a bit.”
"Mm, yeah… I've never actually been there. I don't travel much." He laughed weakly. "I can fly, but my stamina isn't all that great…"
“I have decent stamina, but flying that far would take me a few days at least,” Sol said, tilting his head to see Joey’s face. “I usually just take a plane or my bike.”
Joey nodded a bit. Honestly, his stamina problem was from his malnourishment, but he wasn't about to admit that. "I think I'd like to visit somewhere warm. Like Florida, I dunno."
“Florida is good in the fall and spring, summer is sweltering,” Sol said. “Have you ever been to the beach?”
Joey shook his head a bit. "No, I haven't. I don't think I know how to swim." He laughed softly. "Maybe I wouldn't like it much."
Sol chuckled, “You don’t have to swim, just walking on the beach or wading in the shallows is enjoyable.”
"Yeah, that could be fun… maybe we should go sometime!" Joey grinned brightly. "Is the beach far from here?"
“It’s about an hour away by road,” Sop replied, smiling. “I’d love to go sometime, I haven’t been to the beach in ages.”
"Hm… how long does it take to fly there?" Joey asked curiously. "If we took a couple breaks, I could make it alright."
“It’s about a half hour flight, I think,” Sol answered. “There are some good places along the way to stop, so that would work out easily.”
Joey nodded a bit, smiling softly. "Sounds good to me! I'd have to follow you, though, since I dunno how to get there."
Sol smiled back, heart fluttering. “Works for me, that would be a lot of fun!”
