“Including Kris, I have six older siblings,” Sol replied, moving his wings to get more comfortable. “But they all passed before I was old enough to remember them. Kris was around two hundred when I was born and she raised me.”

"Wow… that's a lot of siblings. I'm not entirely sure exactly how old Jay or Jezzy are… I just know they're older than me." Joey yawned and nuzzled into Sol's neck.

“Ah we’re both the babies of the family,” Sol chuckled softly. “Are you tired, Joey?” he asked. “It’s getting later and I have a spare bedroom if you’d like.”

"A little bit, I guess… mmmm…" Joey yawned again, letting his wings relax. "What were your parents like? Mine were very strict… not very warm or loving."

Sol smiled sadly, looking off a bit. “I never knew mine, both died when I was born. Kris told me about them, though, so I know they were good and kind and strong. Stars, that was so long ago…”

"Ah… I'm sorry to hear that." Joey nuzzled against Sol again, huddling up with him. "I'm not sure how my parents are doing now. They were alive when I left, but that was ages ago. I hope they're alright…"

“You could visit them if you wanted, I could take you,” Sol murmured, purring softly as he nuzzled Joey’s hair. The angel smelled good, like fresh air and old books.

Joey shrugged a bit. "I dunno… maybe. I'm not sure anyone other than angels can enter our realm. Angels aren't usually particularly friendly or welcoming."

“Ah, that makes sense,” Sol said. “I usually monitor how many non-humans are in our territory, and I can see angels wanting to keep that boundary.”

"Yeah. Angels can be so rude." Joey hesitated before gently, awkwardly bumping his lips against Sol's cheek. "I was glad to leave their company. Even in these parts of town, this earth is kinder than my home ever was."

Sol’s heart skipped a beat at the hesitant press of Joey’s lips on his cheek. Joey was so sweet and kind, he hated the thought of him being stuck where he was unhappy. “I’m sorry to hear that, estello, but I’m glad you like it here.”

"What is it you keep calling me?" Joey asked softly. "Um… estello? What does that mean?" He looked up at Sol, his face flushed from having kissed him.

“Ah, well,” Sol, too, blushed. “It’s a Fey endearment, it means ‘my star.’”

Joey flushed a bit harder at that, fidgeting with his hands. "Ah… w-well, thank you for the sentiment…" He replied softly, his heart pounding.

Sol nodded, leaning forward to press their foreheads together. He could hear Joey’s heartbeat, and his own was picking up. “It seemed fitting,” he said softly.

Joey smiled and laughed softly, letting his wings rest off of the couch so they weren't in the way. "What should I call you, then?" He asked, looking up at Sol again.

“Whatever you want,” Sol said, smiling back. He was happy that Joey liked the nickname, it made his heart feel warm that the angel wanted to give one in return.

"But your name's already short, and I don't know any other languages…" He whined, pouting a bit. "What would you like to be called?"

Sol huffed a laugh. “Gods, you’re so cute,” he chuckled. “Well, anything you like in the common tongue is fine with me, or, ah, tesoro.”

Joey stuck his tongue out playfully, flushing again and growing confused at the introduction of a new word. "Tes… tesoro? What does that mean?" He asked.

“It means ‘my treasure,’” Sol translated with a laugh. “But you don’t have to use that, it just came to mind.”

"Ah-…" Joey seemed a bit taken aback at that, his cheeks very red by now. "Well, I… I'll try and remember to use that one then, t… t-tesoro." The word didn't sound quite natural coming out of his mouth considering his unfamiliarity with the language, but he was trying his best.

Sol’s wings ruffled happily, but he held back his smile a bit. “You don’t have to call me that if it feels strange,” he said. “It’s a Fey endearment, and if you’d rather not, it’s completely okay.”

"No, no, it's fine… I just gotta get used to it." Joey buried his red face in Sol's shoulder. "I-I don't know the language, so I feel like I'm saying it wrong…"

“You’re saying it right, estello,” Sol murmured happily, turning his face to nuzzle Joey’s fluffy hair.
