Alex nudged her. “Yeah, bestie, unless you’ve got a problem with that.”
Alex nudged her. “Yeah, bestie, unless you’ve got a problem with that.”
"No, actually, I don't," Autumn said with a slight grin.
“Good coz I wouldn’t have changed it,” Alex admitted with a laugh.
Autumn chuckled and nudged him with her hip. "All right, let's do what we came here to do, yeah?"
Alex nudged her back with his shoulder. “Yep yep! What’re we looking for?”
"Well, 'shoes' would be the obvious answer," Autumn said with a smirk. "But specifically black loafers that you like and fit."
“Hmmm…” He looked up, right past the loafers. “Where are they?”
"Right in front of your face, smart one," Autumn chuckled.
Alex looked around and down. “Oh! There.” He laughed at himself.
Autumn rolled her eyes with a grin. "Yup. Now all you have to do is pick a pair."
Alex looked for a while, gazing at brown, white and black pairs of the fancy shoe. Finally he picked a black pair. “How ‘bout these?”
"Sure, if you like them," Autumn said with a shrug. "They're fancy enough."
Alex gave her a look. “Do you not like them?”
"Well… I mean, they're fine, but the tassel…" Autumn bit the inside of her cheek as she glanced back at the shoes.
Alex looked down at them. “A lot of the pairs had tassels on them. Maybe that’s just a thing of the shoe company?”
Autumn shrugged. "I don't know. Honestly, you can get whatever you want."
Alex gave her a puppy-dog eyed look. “I want your opinion on what looks nice!”
"Ugh…" Autumn groaned before picking up a pair of sleek, black, tassel-less loafers. "What about these, then?"
Alex put back the first pair. “Yeah, those look good.” He grinned at her and took the box.
"Good. I hate shoe shopping…" Autumn sighed as they walked to the counter to pay.
Alex pulled out his card, greeted the cashier and set the shoes down. He handed the cashier his card and looked at Autumn.
“I understand that. It’s why I hardly ever go.” He pointed down to his ragged, worn shoes.
Autumn glanced down and chuckled at the state of his shoes. "I can see that you hardly ever go."
Alex laughed and modeled his shoes so they could be seen at a ‘better’ more revealing light.
“Ah, yes, you can just see how in stunning shape they are.”
(Dude, my sister got an 800-page book yesterday…)
"They're stunning. I can't believe they're not the hottest trend right now," Autumn joked.
(Niiiiiiiiiice what is it?)
Alex flicked his hair back. “Oh, they will be!” He laughed.
