Alex laughed as a taxi pulled up. “It works. Sorry about the scare.”

"It's fine," Autumn assured him and stepped into the car.

Alex plopped in after her, looking at her to supply the address of the clothes store. He buckled in and shut the door in the meantime.

Autumn gave the driver the address and turned to Alex. "So…"

Alex grinned at her. “So.”

"Anything else to talk about?" Autumn asked, nothing coming to mind.

Alex grinned. “We can talk more about the bonfire we will be holding.”

"Okay. I think sometime next month, I think, is when I'm home next," Autumn said.

Alex nodded. “That’s plenty of time, right? For both of us?”

"It is for me. I'm sure it must be for you, as well," Autumn chuckled.

Alex smiled. “Yep, plenty. It’s going to be great!”

"It'll be awesome! Ooh… We can do s'mores!" Autumn exclaimed.

“I was thinking we could do steaks, too! J can make some amazing steaks.” Alex felt his mouth water at the thought.

"Ooh… Yes! Steaks sound great!" Autumn agreed enthusiastically.

“And s’mores… oooh and we could roast vegetables!” Alex clapped his hands together.

"Yay… Vegetables…" Autumn said unenthusiastically.

Alex looked at her. “Have you not had roasted veggies?”

"I don't like vegetables…" Autumn muttered.

Alex laughed gently. “Understandable, but you’ll love roasted veggies, I promise.”

"If you're sure," Autumn said with a shrug.

“I’m positive.” Alex beamed at her.

"Okay. I'll try it," Autumn said with a smile.

Alex gave a little wiggle. “The grilled asparagus is the best. Ever. I love asparagus, especially if it’s boiled and salted…. mmmmm… now I’m making myself hungry!”

Autumn laughed. "Well, that sounds nice."

Alex laughed with her. “It is. I can't wait for you to try it.”
