Autumn bit the inside of her cheek. This was incredibly uncomfortable and stupid, but she refused to speak first.

If there were a fourth person in the car, they would’ve definitely broken the silence by now. It was like cold meat, uncomfortable and kinda sad.
(Interesting comparison. Lol.)
Autumn brought one of her knees up to her chest and hugged it to herself. Nothing could make her break the silence, not unless Alex apologized.
(tbh i couldn’t think of anything else .3.)
Alex wasn’t going to apologize for something he was joking about. She knew (or at least he thought) when he was serious or when he was joking around.
(Lol.)
Unfortunately, Autumn really did think he was serious. She was kind of hurt by the way he'd acted, but she wouldn't let him know that.
Alex looked out his window and leaned back into the seat with a gentle sigh. Nothing was going to make him break the silence.
(Stubborn. lol.)
Why were they both do stubborn about this? Why couldn't Alex just break the stupid silence? This was getting ridiculous.
(Her thoughts, not mine.)
(xD)
Alex leaned his head against the window. Maybe he could just fall asleep and bypass this awful silence.
(Mascara is a pain in the tail sometimes…)
They were almost to the shop, Autumn was sure of it. They had to be, didn't they? They'd been driving for such a long time…
(I don’t even try)
This was a reminder they were still stuck in traffic. They haven’t even left the intersection.
(I just like how it brings out my eyes. Otherwise I honestly don't even care. It's really the only makeup I wear, besides the occasional lip gloss.)
Autumn groaned quietly and brought her other leg up to her chest. She put her face in her legs and sighed.
(That’s good reasoning. My friend wears it as an art style and I think that’s really cool. Skip?)
(Sure.)
They finally arrived at the tailor’s. The driver wished them a good day as they got out then shot off so he didn’t get trapped in traffic again.
Autumn sighed and looked up at the building. Without a word, she walked up to it and stepped inside.
Alex followed her into the building like a shadow. He shut the door behind them as they entered.
Autumn walked up to the counter and greeted the attendant with a smile.
"Hi, appointment for Langton?" she said.
The woman nodded and checked her computer. "All right, please take a seat in the lobby. Someone will be right with you."
"Okay, thank you!" Autumn said before turning around. She sighed as her smile fell, and she walked over and sat in a seat.
Alex paused, then wandered over to another seat and sat down, closer to the dressing rooms rather than Autumn. He pointedly crossed a leg over the other and down at his box and bag.
Autumn sighed and looked away. This was awful. Why couldn't he just talk?
He didn’t want to talk. He wasn’t going to talk, either.
Fine, if he was going to be that way…
Autumn sighed and checked her watch. "You know what? I actually have to go. I'll… talk to you later or something."
Alex grunted and turned to look the other way. “See you around.”
"Later," Autumn mumbled as she stood. She flicked her hair over her shoulder and strolled out the door right as someone came to help Alex.
Alex rose with a slight smile of greeting on his face and shook their hand. They lead him to the back and got him situated, yet it wasn’t until later that night Alex could go home with his new suit in a bag. He hailed a taxi and got in the back, then gave the address of the hotel.
Autumn had gotten back to her apartment and sat back on her couch. She sighed and picked her script up to study it some more.
