Alex gave another slight bow. “Thank you for seeing me, Brooklyn. You have a great rest of your day, too.”
Alex gave another slight bow. “Thank you for seeing me, Brooklyn. You have a great rest of your day, too.”
Brooklyn sat back down in her seat and looked at some paperwork. Alex was dismissed.
Alex took it as such and trotted out, humming happily. He did a little dance in the hall before walking out to the reception area, wishing Sarah a good day, then outside to hail a taxi.
(Skip?)
(Sure. The Not-Date TM?)
(To the Totally-Not-A-Date TM!)
(Lol.)
Autumn was checking herself out in the mirror for the millionth time, making sure that she liked okay. Why did she even care? It's not like it was that big of a deal! Just pizza and games between a couple of friends.
With a sigh, she patted her white tshirt to straighten it out over her black skinny jeans. Her hair was thrown up into a simple high-ponytail.
Alex had stripped his tux with relief, carefully folding it up back into the tailor’s bag and into his baggage. He threw on a lopey yet graceful gray tee with a graying white flannel with ripped whitewashed jeans. He tied on his shoes and walked out the door, fluffing out his hair.
Autumn bit her lip as she checked the time. 6:53… He should be at her apartment in seven minutes…
He was there about three minutes later. Four minutes early. He straightened his shoulders and knocked on the door happily.
Autumn jumped at the knock. He was early!
Taking a deep breath, she made her way over to the door and opened it with a smile. "Hey, Alex! Come right on in!"
Alex smiled back. “Hi Autumn!” He stepped into the apartment, grinning. “You look great!”
"Oh, thanks! So do you," Autumn said as she closed the door. "Make yourself at home. I didn't order pizza, yet, since I don't know what you want on it."
Alex blew a raspberry and flopped his hands out. “I look like a train wreck. Just like I wanted. Pizza? I usually just get extra cheese with onion on it.”
"All right, so extra cheese, half onion, half meat lovers," Autumn said to herself so she would remember it. "Do you want anything to drink while I order?"
“Mmm… Anything. Soda would be great if it’s not a problem.” He grinned at her.
"Orange, Coke, or root beer?" Autumn called over her shoulder as she passed him and made her way to the kitchen.
Alex frowned a little in thought. “Root beer would be nice.”
"Sure," Autumn said, grabbing a couple of cans from the fridge. She turned back to Alex and handed him the root beer with a smile.
Alex grinned back and cracked open the soda. “Thanks! So what games do tou have?”
"Mm… Settlers of Catan, the Game of Life, Monopoly, there's a deck of cards somewhere," Autumn muttered as she walked over to a cabinet full of games and such.
Alex rose and followed her to the closet. “Do you have Cards Against Humanity?” He peered around for the huge black box.
"I might. Honestly, there's so much crap in here that I've lost track of a few of the things," Autumn chuckled.
Alex chuckled too. “If you have it, we got to play it.”
"Come help me search for it," Autumn laughed as she waved him over with her head still stuck in the cabinet.
Alex laughed and set his soda down, rising off the comfortable couch and over to the closet. “Where do you think it’d be?” He asked imperviously, gazing over her head.
