"Once inside, she cleared aside some furniture and helped him up on the couch. She scuttled to her room and pulled out as many extra blankets from her storage space as possible, all made from her own silk. She draped them carefully over the butterfly and went to her small kitchen. She grabbed a small flower and sat beside the butterfly. 'I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to fix the wing. This will put you to sleep for bit so I can fix your wing without causing you pain, okay?' The butterfly managed a small nod and a faint smile before resting his hand on her arm. the spider blushed slightly, knowing it was a simple gesture and probably meaningless but it felt like something intimate and beautiful."
He was completely entranced, listening to his voice and getting lose in his beautiful eyes. He'd spend all day like this if he could.
The butterfly took the flower obediently and ate it whole, flinching a bit at the taste but soon drifting off to sleep. She smiled softly at his peaceful face before beginning work on the wing, working carefully to mend the broken bits of wing. She worked well into the night fixing the wing as well as early morning making a sling out of silk for the wing to rest in until it was healed up.*"
"Can you just read me to sleep here rather than actually making me move? I'd much rather do that than anything else."
"no my king, we have to get that wound of yours treated," he stroked his cheek, softly smiling at him "I can check the book out if you want to continue it once we're out of the hospital." he offered, holding his place in the book with his thumb.
"Which one? There's like seventeen thousand!" He chuckled. "But please do, I really like the story so far."
"All of them," he laughed softly, making a note of the page and closing it fully. "think you can stand now?" he shifted so the Jay was more propped up against him
"We're about to find out." He slowly got to his feet, managing to not fall over this time but he was very unstable. He leaned heavily against the bookshelf. "Better than last time but I'm absolutely going to fall over if I try to walk."
Raz glanced around, keeping an arm around Jay's waist. "we can't just stay here all day…" h e sighed softly and gently tugged Jay off the bookshelf "I'll catch you if you fall." he promised
He took a tentative step forward, wincing when he remembered that it was his bad ankle but he just gritted his teeth and dealt with it.
Raz helped him walk, letting Jay lean against him. He checked out the book and had the librarian call a cab.not wanting to draw much attention by having her call an ambulance.
He just tried to stay upright and not look like he was in extreme pain even though he was.
"Nearest hospital please." Raz told the driver as he helped Jay into the cab as gently as possible. "I'm sorry love," he whispered, knowing Jay was in immense pain. "it'll be over soon."
"That makes it sound like you're about to kill me." He chuckled. "Please don't do that, I love you I promise."
"No my king, I would never. I love you too much to do anything close to that to you." He pressed a kiss to Jay's cheek "just relax my love."
He rested his head on his shoulder, relaxing slowly. "I love you, my prince. And you're going to give me a cavity because of how sweet you are."
"That is both unbelievably cheesy and cute at the same time." Raz laughed, reaching up and stroking Jay's brow.
"Listen, I'm slightly loopy so don't judge me. And like I said earlier, I'll always find time to flirt with you, my love."
"you've already won me over my king, there's no need to keep going." he blushed softly and nudged Jay's head with his own
"There's always a need to keep going! I have you but now I need to keep you. I have a mission, love, acknowledge my mission."
Raz chuckled softly and nodded "fine, but you will alway's keep me, my love." he smiled reassuringly at Jay before glancing out the window and straightening "ready?"
"As I'll ever be." He braced himself for the immense pain again as he saw the hospital roll into his vision.
Raz got out first after paying the cab driver and wrapped an arm around Jay. He slowly walked him into the ER where he was given strange looks by the nurses "sir? sir what's wrong?"
"Better question, what isn't?" He winced, his head starting to spin again.
The nurses glanced at jay in confusion before calling over a stretcher. raz went to follow but was stopped by a third nurse. "you need to stay here."
"But-"
"you can see him once the doctors are done, for now we'll have you answer some questions."
