Danny pursed his lips, trying to think of any way to sway this in his favor. “Yeah, but- actually, I’m not gonna argue this anymore, ‘cause I’m startin’ to sound like my mom. We splittin’ this?”
Danny pursed his lips, trying to think of any way to sway this in his favor. “Yeah, but- actually, I’m not gonna argue this anymore, ‘cause I’m startin’ to sound like my mom. We splittin’ this?”
Alex nodded. "We can split it." he replied with a smile, opening up his wallet.
Danny flagged down Mrs Rodriguez, asking for the bill and for it to be split. When she came back he handed her his own cash, putting his wallet down on the table.
Alex paid for his food as well, giving the store owner a quick smile. "The food was great, thanks."
“I’m glad you liked it.” Mrs Rodriguez smiled, leaving the receipt and walking off.
“She’s a nice old lady. Got some fuckin’ patience, lemme tell ya what.” Danny laughed slightly, nodding his head a tiny bit.
Alex nodded and smiled. "Yeah, she seems nice." he agreed, looking at Danny. He put his wallet away.
Danny slipped his wallet back into his pocket, rolling his neck, his bones popping and cracking as he did so. “‘Cause she is. She’s like a mom to me, man. A mom who isn’t a werewolf and also greatly disapproves of my pack, but.. ehh, what can you do?” Danny grinned.
(gtg now. Good night!)
Alex smiled, and nodded. "Ah. Yeah. My mom…is a little different." he replied with a shrug. "But I love her anyways."
Danny nodded, although he looked curious. “Whaddya mean? Like, when you say she’s different?”
Alex shrugged. "I don't know. She's a good person. I just meant she was different from some other moms I've met."
Danny nodded. “I figured that’s kinda what you meant.” He picked up the receipt, playing with it in his hands.
Alex chuckled softly, and ran a hand through his hair, still trying to get used to the fact that it was shorter now. He sighed.
“That shorter hair looks dope on you.” Danny tilted his head up in a gesture to Alex’s hair, his hands still occupied with the receipt.
Alex smiled. "Oh. Thanks." he replied, biting his lips for a moment. "Like I said, it was my mom's idea." he shrugged his shoulders, hands dropping down to his lap.
“Well, it was a good one.” Danny fidgeted a bit, wanting nothing more than to leave and walk around for a while- whether or not Alex came wasn’t a factor, he just needed some time outside.
Alex nodded. He noticed Danny's fidgeting. "Do you, er…wanna head out?" He asked, gesturing to the door and raising his eyebrows.
Danny nodded, practically leaping out of his chair. “Dude, thought I’d have to come up with some lame excuse to go stand outside. Sorry if the movin’ around bugged ya, I just gotta be movin’ all the time, y’know?”
Alex laughed softly, getting up and putting on his jacket. "Yeah no, I get it, I get it, don't worry." he replied with a smile. He followed Danny out of the restaurant.
Danny stepped outside, immediately taking a second to bask in the winter sun. It wasn’t cold, per say, given that they were in the desert, the temperature was much more mild. He pulled the flannel tied around his waist off, slipping it on. The thing was fairly big on him in comparison to the rest of his clothes, but he looked comfortable enough. “Whaddya wanna do? I think the only options are to either split up or just walk around a bit, right?”
(I gtg in about twenty minutes, btw)
Alex nodded, looking over at Danny. "Yeah. We can do either one." He replied with a smile. "Your choice." He looked at Danny with a smile.
(kk, thanks for the notice!)
“Hmh..” Danny rocked on his feet, shifting his weight around. “Let’s walk, then?”
(np! Also I'm thinking maybe they could run into Alex's ex?? Who's a succubus and was kinda a little abusive in a way? Like he used his powers/abilities to manipulate Alex and stuff)
Alex smiled. "Sure." He tucked his hands in his pockets, looking at Danny still. A few locks of dark hair had fallen into his face.
(That’s a great idea! I can already tell how Danny might react in this situation, go for it!)
“Alright, uh- let’s see.. I normally go that way-“ Danny pointed down a street lined with cars and burning neon signs. “But.. I’m really open for anything, at this point. Actually, fuck it, I haven’t been this way in a while.” He beckoned for Alex to follow him down a different way, taking small steps to see if Alex would catch up.
(alright cool!)
Alex nodded, and followed Danny with a soft smile on his face. After a few minutes of walking, Alex spotted a familiar figure up ahead, and stopped dead in his tracks, then looked at Danny. His throat felt like it was going to close up, panic obvious in his wide-eyed gaze.
Danny froze as well, looking down at Alex with concern. He placed a callused hand on Alex’s shoulder, head tilted. “Dude.. you okay? What’s wrong?”
