Alex nodded. "I don't know if I'll still be here then…but if I am, it would be really fun to go and see that." he smiled over at Danny.
Alex nodded. "I don't know if I'll still be here then…but if I am, it would be really fun to go and see that." he smiled over at Danny.
“Sure, sure.” Danny nodded, still working on that piece of wood. “God, I finally got a break from gigs tonight. Been doin’ em for like.. a week now, yeah. Can tell I’m ‘boutta lose my voice.” Danny curled his lip, shaking his head and relaxing his face.
Alex nodded. "Oh, that's good." He replied with a smile. "And if you're gonna lose your voice…" He thought for a moment. "I'd say tea and honey, but…can you even have those?" He raised an eyebrow.
Danny shrugged. “I think I can. Could probably look it up, but.. eh.” He finally plucked off that small sliver, placing it near where it had peeled off from. Danny now moves to picking at the worn polish on his nails. “We’ll see, I guess.”
Alex sighed softly. "Or…well, honey is really best for your voice. If you're desperate, you can gargle lemon water or vinegar, and supposedly that helps?" he shrugged slightly.
Danny recoiled at the thought, wrinkling his nose. “No offense or nothin’, Alex, but I think I’d literally rather die. I think I’ll just try out the tea and see how that goes.” He stretched his arms above his heard, bringing them back down to rest his hands on his hair for a moment.
Alex laughed. "Well, you're only supposed to gargle them in an emergency or if you're sick." he replied, taking a sip of his tea and looking rather amused.
“Which I am neither.” Danny pointed out, taking another sip from his glass. He smiled halfway, hooking his finger into the shirt collar and tugging it slightly.
"True." Alex smiled a little bit, looking over at Danny. He took a deep breath of the steam still rising from his tea, and coughed a little.
Danny jumped a bit at Alex’s sudden coughs, but he laughed it off with a smile. “You good, man?”
Alex nodded. "Yeah. I inhaled steam." he replied with a soft laugh. "And I inhaled it really weirdly." he chuckled, shaking his head a little.
“Yeah, man, I can tell.” Danny nodded, turning his head as he heard somebody walk up.
“Sorry for the wait, we have a little trouble back in the kitchen.” Mrs Rodriguez set down both of their plates, giving them a gentle smile before going back to the kitchen.
Danny moved his glass out of the way, letting out a small sigh of relief. “Not gonna lie, kinda forgot we ordered food.”
Alex smiled at the woman. "It's fine." he replied. He looked at his food and let out a laugh. "I didn't. I'm starving." he replied, taking a bite of his burger.
Danny nodded, taking a bite out of his own burger. The thing was so rare it practically still mooing, but he wolfed (for a lack of a better word) it down without a second thought. He checked his phone, wiping his face with his napkin.
(I'll probably have to go sometime within the next 20 minutes-ish, btw)
Alex kept eating, closing his eyes for a moment. He chewed, swallowed, then said, "This is actually a really good cheeseburger."
(alright, thanks for the heads up!)
“Yeah, the kitchen’s pretty fucken’ good. I used to work here in high school, I don’t think anythin’s changed since then.” He took a short sip from his water, ruffling his hair and leaning his cheek on his palm.
(np!)
Alex nodded, and went back to eating his burger. He watched Danny for a moment, then looked away again.
Danny’s eyes wandered around the dining room. He gnawed on his knuckle absentmindedly, posture slightly slumped, but definitely relaxed.
Alex finished up his burger, having eaten it rather quickly. He smiled a little bit. "Thanks for suggesting this place." he said.
(goddamnit I wanna burger now…)
(man me too,, that’s lowkey why i put off actually bringing in the food, lmao)
“Yeah, dude, no problem!” Danny nodded, a smile on his face. He had finished his food a few minutes back, and so was just trying to occupy himself. “Should we go ahead and get the bill now, or do we wait?” Danny assumed that he himself would be the one paying, given that he had suggested the restaurant in the first place.
(lmao)
Alex shrugged a little bit. "Uhm. I don't have a preference." He replied. "Do you wanna wait, or no?" he got out his wallet. He had been planning on paying for at least his own food.
“I think pay now, and then when we’re ready to go we can just.. go.” Danny looked at Alex pulling out his wallet. “Dude, no, put your fuckin’ wallet away…” He pulled out his own wallet. “I got this, man.”
Alex nodded. "Alright." he frowned a little bit. "Uhm. I was planning on paying for at least myself. This was my idea." he replied, looking at Danny. "It's not fair to make you pay for everything."
“I get where you’re comin’ from, but I recommended the place.” Danny shrugged, tapping the corner of his wallet on the table. “You see what I mean?”
"Yeah, but it was my idea in the first place." Alex said again, wrinkling his nose at Danny.
