Mia looked up at Simon, tears coming to her eyes. She squeezed them closed again, not moving.

“Mia?” He asked softly, resting a hand on her shoulder.

_{(Derlik: Aw, the tiny demon's getting angy, whatever will I do)}

Mia was still for a few minutes, just crying, before finally opening her eyes. She moved close to Simon, hugging him.
"I-I'm sorry, I… S-Sleep paralysis…"

“No it’s okay. Are you alright?” He asked, pulling her into his side so she could feel protected.

_{(Astral, watching from his palace with some popcorn: snickers idiots)}

Mia nodded slightly, but she came quickly into Simon's side, huddled close. She didn't close her eyes again, wiping at her tears.

_{((Simon just having no idea what’s happening))}

Simon held her close. “It’s okay I’ve got you now.” He reassured, his arms around her protectively.

Mia nodded again, arms around Simon's waist.
"I…" She still didn't close her eyes, her head against Simon's shoulder.

Simon didn’t say anything, giving her the time to process and calm down. He just held her close, beginning to hum a simple tune under his breath.

_{((why do i feel like, in his next life, Simon just won’t like Astral. Like he’d probably be afraid of him))}

"I miss her…" Mia finally closed her eyes, trembling some as she clung to Simon for the comfort he gave her.

“I know…” Simon said softly, beginning to rub small circles into her back, ready to provide any support she needed.

_{(He probably thought he'd just be a priest or something but no, he's actually in the palace now and he really is only worth as much as Astral says he is)

"I-I miss her, and he took her, he h-hurt her, a-and…" Mia let out a soft sob, shaking her head and pressing closer.

And you know Astral’s just gonna wanna move much too quickly because he still knows Simon but Simon doesn’t know him at all and he still feels like he’s just a kid)) ((and he’s definitely going to talk about Evan too much, and that’ll definitely make Astral wanna go back and kill the guy))}

“I-I know…” he replied, pulling her in as close as he could. “I’m so sorry…”

"A-And now she fucking worships him, s-she–" Mia let out a soft sob. "She d-doesn't remember me at a-all…"

Simon felt so terrible for her. She’d never told him the full story of what had happened, but from what he’d pieced together, it hadn’t been good. So for now he just held her, letting her get it all out.

"High f-fucking Priestess," Mia spat out. There was so much venom in her words, so much hatred. For the title, not the woman.

_{((Ofc :( I feel bad for the kid, I feel like depending on how much Astral does or doesn’t like the kid, he’s just gonna shut them out of the family dynamic completely and not give them a chance to even see Simon))}

So it had been her. Simon had always been a bit suspicious, just from the way Mia reacted when he first mentioned her. “That’s awful…” he said quietly.

"She… he raised us, a-and then he…" Mia let out another soft cry. "H-He couldn't handle us b-being in love…"

“Of course he couldn’t…he would be an asshole like that. I’m so sorry he took her away.” He said, barely managing to keep his voice calm.

"She… She doesn't e-even remember what he did to her… She l-loves him still…" Mia sniffled. Simon had almost ended up like that.

“Maybe that’s for the better.” He suggested gently. “At least she won’t have to suffer anymore, right? But of course, I know that doesn’t make it any easier for you.” He knew it was a risky suggestion.

Mia nodded slowly.
"I… I j-just wish I could… could have gone with her…" She rubbed at her eyes, pressing her head closer. Astral had really messed her up.

“Would you still want to? If that was an option?” He asked, beginning to rub her back again to help her stay a little calm.

"I… I don't know… She- she had s-someone else, now…" Mia closed her eyes, trying to relax but failing.
"A-Astral made sure I knew…"

That of course, made Simon incredibly angry, that Astral would rub it in her face like that. “Jeez what a jerk…” he grumbled. “I’m sorry he did that.”
