He nodded, looking over when the god didn’t move. “It’s gonna be okay, Astral. And if he’s bothered, then you just leave.”
He nodded, looking over when the god didn’t move. “It’s gonna be okay, Astral. And if he’s bothered, then you just leave.”
"Understood." Astral finally moved to stand, turning to look down the hall.
Emile watched, at this point sitting criss cross on the couch. “It’s gonna be okay.” He repeated.
Astral nodded, and with that he set off down the hall to go to Simon's room.
Simon was indeed awake, still laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling and trying to figure out how he’d fallen asleep last night. He’d been so determined to stay up too.
((Broooo I just had a very vivid image of when the kid’s like 5 or 6 and just sneaking into Astral and Simon’s room I mean maybe lol like 👁👄👁 and they just stand there until one of them wakes up))
(hopefully after 5/6 years they'll be better ;-;)
(Astral, waking up: Mm, good morning-)
(The Child: 👁👄👁 Father I crave affection-)
(Astral: JESUS CHRIST-)
Astral was silent as he walked to Simon's room, knocking on the door.
Simon sat up a bit when he heard the knock, looking at the door a bit questioningly. Astral usually didn’t knock. “Hello??” He called out uncertainly. It could just be the house shifting? Did palaces belonging to gods even shift?
((XD that’s fucking hilarious))
((and yes I hope so too))
"Hey, Simon," Astral said softly through the door.
"I… wanted to talk to you. About making things better."
Simon stayed silent for a moment, a little bit in shock before sitting up more. He moved closer to Mia so she could let him know if she wanted Astral to leave. “O-okay you can come in.”
Mia was silent, moving to sit up as well. She didn't trust Astral, not one bit, but what could she do?
Astral slowly opened the door, stepping in. He moved to the side, away from the door so the others could leave while still giving them plenty of room.
Simon had taken Mia’s hand quietly, giving it a reassuring squeeze. He recognized how much space Astral was giving them, and he appreciated it. “So..you wanted to talk?”
Astral nodded some.
"I… The first thing I wanted to say is I'm sorry. For what I did, to you and Mia." Mia looked away, hand going to her jaw at the memory.
Simon blinked slowly, more than a bit surprised that Astral was actually apologizing. “O-okay. Thanks..” he said softly, still a bit on edge. Was there a catch or something?
"And… especially to what I did to you before, Simon." Astral still couldn't bring himself to look at the man on the bed.
"All of it. I…"
Simon had never gotten an apology before. “I…” he took a second just to process. “Thank you.” He repeated. “I appreciate it.” He didn’t know if he could forgive him yet.
Astral nodded just slightly. Shit, shit, his mind was blanking, he didn't know what to say.
“It’s gonna take me some time still..you know that right?” Simon asked softly. Because while he was open to forgiving Astral, it wouldn’t be immediate.
"I do," Astral said, nodding some. "And I would never ask you to forgive me before you're ready. This is about making sure you're okay, not for me to feel better about myself."
((YES ASTRAL YESSSSSS))
Simon was honestly very very surprised that Astral was on that level of thinking already. The emotion was probably very obvious on his face but he couldn’t help it. “Okay then…I’m glad to hear that.”
(HE'S FINALLY LEARNING YESSSS)
Astral nodded some, daring to glance up at Simon.
"And… I want to learn. How to help, to be better. I… don't know exactly want I need to do to do that, Simon, I'll be the first to admit it…"
((OMG I’M SO PROUD LOOK AT HIM GOOOO))
Simon felt..so relieved. If Astral really was telling the truth. Then maybe this time could be better. He nodded. “I’m…I’m so glad.” He smiled, just a bit, but it was there.
(I KNOW RIGHT?!)
Mia didn't trust Astral. He'd tried to pretend to be nice to Simon before, after all. She gave his hand a warning squeeze. He was trusting too much.
Simon’s smile faltered a bit and he leaned into Mia’s side. She was right of course..he knew that. He just..he wanted it to be real so badly. He needed it to be real.
