Halm's expression was gentle now.
"There's nothing to worry about," he said softly. "If you don't want to do it we won't."
Halm's expression was gentle now.
"There's nothing to worry about," he said softly. "If you don't want to do it we won't."
"Will… will it hurt?" Cas asked nervously. "If it's gonna hurt, I don't wanna…"
"It won't hurt," Halm promised. "You'll be safe."
Cas hesitated before nodding. "I… okay, then, you… you can do it…"
"Okay then," Halm said quietly. His hand slid down to Wren's cheek, and in a moment he was getting smaller, smaller, smaller. Soon, Halm was holding Cas in his giant hand, the human no larger than a doll. Still, it was much warmer for Cas.
Cas looked around nervously, clearly uneasy. After a few seconds of hesitation, he curled up in Halm's hand and sighed softly.
Halm held his hand inside of his suit jacket still, but he stood up. He had to get somewhere ready for Cas to sleep, after all.
"Are you still okay with this?" Halm asked quietly so as to not to be too loud.
Cas nodded and huddled more into Halm's warmth. He seemed to be relaxing somewhat and wasn't shivering as much.
Halm, relieved, thought now would be a good time to get the new room prepared. He left the living room, going to the hall. After a moment, a new door appeared. When Cas went through it, it would look like his ideal room. It was the least Halm could do.
"Would you like some dinner, or would you rather go to sleep?"
"Mm… I dunno… I'm pretty hungry, but I'm used to being hungry, so it doesn't matter much to me…" Cas yawned and clung to one of Halm's fingers as well as he could.
Halm thought a moment at this, then turned and headed to the kitchen. Like hell he was letting Cas go hungry. It would be difficult with only one hand, but he could do it. He started on something simple, humming a little as he cooked.
Cas closed his eyes and clung tighter to Halm's finger. His shivering had mostly stopped by now.
Halm curled his thumb up to rub Cas's back very, very lightly.
"Food is done," he said after a little while.
"Do you want to try to eat like this or go back to normal?"
"Mm… I don't wanna move…" Cas rested his head on Halm's finger and yawned again.
"Okay then," Halm said, smiling a little. He prepared to plates, shrinking one down for Cas. It was easier that way, for both of them. He carefully set the plate down for Cas, sitting down himself to eat. "Just try to eat a little bit, okay?"
"Mmkay… what is it?" Cas asked, reluctantly opening his eyes.
"Just some noodles and chicken," Halm said calmly. It was actually packed full of as many nutrients Halm could get into it without ruining the taste, to help with Cas's whole not eating thing. Halm calmly started eating with his free hand, watching Cas to make sure he was okay.
(Icefire Cas is handling being shrunk much better than we let Torin XD)
Cas sat up on Halm's hand and pulled the plate into his lap. "Thanks, Halm…" He shoved a forkful of food into his mouth and hummed in satisfaction."
"You're welcome," Halm mumbled with a smile. He continued eating, eventually finishing. He leaned back in his chair, letting Cas take his time.

(i know! I'm very upset with you 😤 you traumatized Torin and now you're letting Cas be all cute 'n snuggly)
As much as Cas would have liked to scarf down the food all at once, he decided to savor it and not make himself throw up instead.
(i saw a chance and took it. Maybe we'll eventually get him to the point to where he can do something like this)
"Do you like it?" Halm asked when Cas didn't have his mouth full.
"You'll be getting a lot more home cooked meals from now on."
Cas nodded. "Yeah, it's good… and thank you." He took another bite, crossing his legs to sit more comfortably.
