"People don't often come to this forest. People have spotted me before, and the stories spread." Halm sighed softly, looking away. "And I became the evil of them, of course." He sounded sad as he spoke, and defeated.
"People don't often come to this forest. People have spotted me before, and the stories spread." Halm sighed softly, looking away. "And I became the evil of them, of course." He sounded sad as he spoke, and defeated.
"So you've been seen before?" Cas asked tentatively. It was hard to believe he was actually just talking to a God face to face.
"Of course. How do you think people know if the gods? We don't start coopped up in our homes very often." Halm looked back to Cas, and he looked friendly. Well, as much as someone who looked like him could, anyway.
Cas nodded a bit. "I-I mean… I dunno… I don't get to talk to people much, so I guess I've never heard the stories. Or… er… seen a God before."
"Oh," Halm said softly. "I know what you mean." He signed a little, sitting back against the tree. He was relaxed; he wasn't very scary like this.
Cas was still clearly wary. He seemed very disheveled and still scared despite Halm having done nothing to harm him. "Erm… how long were you planning on staying?"
Halm looked at Cas, a little saddened.
"I'll be leaving very soon," he said softly. "it is obvious I am unwanted here."
Cas winced a bit, feeling guilty. "I-I don't mean it like that… you seem very nice, I just… don't want you getting into trouble with the authorities or anything…"
Halm hadn't been expecting that.
"Oh," he said softly. "It's alright. I won't get in trouble." Halm was still a bit shocked, toileting his head a little.
"How do you know? I don't have a phone or anything, but if someone else shows up, they might call the police."
"And what would the police try to do?" Halm said can't, slowly. He didn't want to scare Cas, but he knew the police wouldn't be able to do anything to him.
"Well, arrest you, I guess… and they might taze you or use a tranquilizer gun or something…" Cas fidgeted nervously, still holding the cat close.
"I see," Halm said. He was silent for a moment before he stood up. Now, he was towering over Cas, though he didn't mean to.
Cas cowered against the tree, paling again. "I-I'm sorry, I… I didn't mean…" He clung tighter to the cat.
"No, no, you haven't done anything wrong," Halm said quickly.
"But if I really do scare you this much I shouldn't stay around."
Cas apologized again and sighed shakily. "I-I dunno… I just… is it safe for you to be here?"
"Perfectly safe," Halm said quietly. "But you are not the only one who reacts to me like this. It would be best if I left this world." Halm seemed so defeated- no one wanted him. Just like it had been for hundreds of years.
(Should we bring in spooky God boy again?)
"I-I know, but still… I just… I dunno…" Cas sighed softly.
(Him or spooky good girl that you haven't met yet)
"It's alright," Halm said. He took a few steps away, turning to leave.
(:00)
Cas hesitated before waving. "It… uh… it was nice to meet you?"
(eh…. Yeah, let's go spooky gurl -w-)
Halm looked back at Cas, giving him a small smile.
"If you say so," he said softly before turning away again.
"Halm, you're just going to let the boy go?" A thick, rich voice purred from the shadows. "So I suppose it wouldn't affect you if I took him myself." Halm froze, whipping around.
Cas jumped and froze again. "There's another one?!" The cat ran again, hissing and spitting. He went pale and slowly got to his feet.
"Ethal," Halm growled. Goddess of bloodshed, know for draining people for fun. Halm hurried back, putting himself between Cas and the shadows.
"Leave him alone."
Cas gulped and looked between the two deities nervously. He swayed a bit and, after a few seconds, collapsed again.
The goddess, Ethal, was dressed in black and reds, with heavy makeup. Halm looked down at Cas, worried and picking Cas up to protect him.
"Why are you so protective of the boy," Ethal asked, scoring a little. "He isn't yours."
