"Really, why do you think that?" Cas asked, clearly being sarcastic. He took a bite of his food, trying not to fall out of the chair.
"Really, why do you think that?" Cas asked, clearly being sarcastic. He took a bite of his food, trying not to fall out of the chair.
Halm pursed his lips. He finished quickly, a fast eater, and stood up.
"I'll have to deal with it later. Right now, I need to go to work." He went to the sink to rinse his plate.
"Um… okay. What am I supposed to do here while you're gone?" Cas asked tentatively.
"Don't know," Halm said plainly. "You could come with me, or get situated in your room."
"Um… where are you going, exactly? I might get settled in first before joining you."
"Out in the gardens," Halm said. "I have to tend to the souls there. I won't be far from the house."
Cas nodded. "I'll go… uh… set things up, then." He grabbed his plate and carefully slid off his chair. He headed over to the sink and reached up, struggling to put the plate in the sink.
Halm calmly took the plate from Cas, rinsing it for him. He might be being kind to Cas, but he was also treating him like a child.
Cas sighed and crossed his arms, watching fire a second or two before just stalking off to his room to pout.
The room, as stated before, took on the appearance of what Cas wanted most in a room. It was also in scale to him.
"I'm heading out," Halm called out. "You're stuff is still in the living room."
"Bye." Cas looked around with a soft sigh. He had to admit that the room was nice. Once he heard the door close, he headed back out to grab his things.
Halm looked back at the house for a moment, then kneeled down by the koi pond.
"Keep an eye on him," he instructed before getting up and going to work. Once Halm was gone, the koi changed- the white and blue one into a woman, the black and orange one into a man. They both headed into the house, lazing around in the living room.
Cas had already headed back into his room to set things up. He put the litter box and bowls in one corner for Nix before beginning to put away the few belongings he had.
After a little while, the woman stood up. The man have her a look, but she ignored it and went to knock on Cas's door.
Cas jumped at the sudden noise and froze. "H-Hello? Who's there? Is it Halm?"
The woman opened the door just enough for her to the her head in.
"No, but I'm a friend of his," she said chipperly. Her hair was up in a bun and and a soft white, but she still looked young.
Cas screamed and pressed himself against the wall. He went pale again with fear and seemed to be trembling. "W-What do you want from me??"
"Halm said to make sure you were okay," the woman said. She looked concerned when Cas screamed, opening the door a bit more but not coming in.
Cas kept himself pressed tightly against the wall. "Do you live here or something?? Who are you??"
"My name is Kora. I don't live in this house, but I do live in this world." The door was completely open now, but Kora made no attempt to come any closer to Cas.
Cas eyed Kora warily, still tense and pale. "Does Halm not trust me to be alone in the house for five minutes? I'm an adult."
"Well, he probably figured it would take you a while to get used to this place. That's why he asked me and my brother to keep an eye on you." Kora leaned against the doorframe, doing her best not to be threatening.
Cas still seemed unsure about her and stayed where he was. "I-I can take care of myself! I'm nineteen!"
Kora seem a bit surprised by that.
"You look, way younger," she noted. "Have you told Halm? He probably figured you're pretty young and that's why he asked us to be here with you."
Cas flushed a bit and looked away. "I-I… uh… no, it never really came up… I don't think he knows anything about me other than my name."
