Cas huddled up to Halm, seeming content for now. His frequent nightmares seemed to subside whenever he slept in Halm's room.
Cas huddled up to Halm, seeming content for now. His frequent nightmares seemed to subside whenever he slept in Halm's room.
Halm gently rubbed Cas's back, smiling softly. He was glad Cas seemed to be doing so well.
"Cas," he said gently.
"Mmmmm…" Cas stirred, but remained asleep for now. He grabbed onto the fabric of Halm's shirt.
Halm put his hand on top of Cas's head.
"Cas," he said again. "It's time to wake up."
"Nooooo…" Cas whined, huddling closer to Halm and clinging to him. He was definitely walking up, but he wasn't happy about it.
"Come on, Cas," Halm said gently. He wrapped one arm around Cas, smiling softly.
"I don't wannaaaa…" Cas buried his face in Halm's chest and huffed. "M'tired…"
"Cas, being on a regular schedule is important," Halm said gently. He sat up, pulling Cas with him.
"Schedules are stupid…" Cas climbed into Halm's lap and clung to him.
Halm chuckled softly, wrapping his arms around Cas again.
"It's good for you," he said, smiling.
Cas huffed a bit. "Sleep is good for you too…" He mumbled.
"Only when you sleep a good amount. Not too much." Halm swun his legs off the bed, holding Cas on his lap still.
"What if I just hibernate instead?" Cas asked with a yawn.
"Oh come now," Halm said with a chuckle. "You're no bear." He smiled, standing up and holding Cas close.
"It'd be cool if I could be, though…" Cas lay his head against Halm's chest.
"You think so?" Halm said softly. Technically, it could happen. Still, Cas was half asleep right now.
"Yeah… or a cat… cats get to sleep all day." Cas yawned a bit. "I think I'd like to be a cat. Hypothetically, obviously…"
"Hypothetically, of course." Halm chuckled a little. "It's not like you're living with an ancient god who could do it for you."
"Hmm?" Cas looked up at Halm, confused. "What do you mean?"
"Oh, nothing," Halm said. He started carrying Cas out of the room.
"It's not like I could turn you into something else if you actually wanted it."
"You could turn me into a cat?" Cas asked, his eyes wide with curiosity.
"Of course I could," Halm said calmly. "I've shrunk you before, haven't I?"
"Well, yeah, but that's kinda different than changing my species…"
Halm gave a one sided shrug.
"Well, it's something I can do. If you want to."
"I mean, probably not permanently, but it could be fun for a bit. Would I still be able to talk?"
