Halm finished quickly with dinner, bringing the food and Cas over to the table. He sat down with Cas in his lap.
"Foods done," he said gently.
Halm finished quickly with dinner, bringing the food and Cas over to the table. He sat down with Cas in his lap.
"Foods done," he said gently.
"Mmmm… what is it?" Cas asked, pulling his hood back off.
"Just some salad and chicken," Halm said. He pulled Cas's bowl closer for him.
"Mmkay." Cas pulled the bowl into his lap and started eating quietly.
Halm started eating as well, finishing quickly. He waited patiently for Cas, not wanting to rush him.
Cas ate at the same pace as usual, which meant that he was still eating several minutes after Halm had finished. Eventually, he was done, and he curled up against Halm again.
Halm wrapped one arm around Cas to pick him up. He stood, putting the plates away.
"Do you want to go ahead while I work?" He asked.
"Go ahead and what?" Cas asked softly, yawning again and resting his head on Halm's shoulder.
"Go the bed," Halm said. "It might be a while before I'm done."
"Mm… probably. Falling asleep like this again will probably make my back hurt."
"Okay then." Halm started heading to Cas's room to drop him off.
"Noooooo…" Cas whined, looking over at the door to his own room and clinging tighter to Halm.
"You… Don't want to sleep in your room?" Halm asked.
Cas shook his head, still clinging tightly to Halm.
"Okay then…" Halm turned to his own room.
"What about mine?"
Cas nodded quietly and relaxed a bit, humming softly to himself.
Halm put his hand on Cas's head lightly, walking to his own room with a soft smile.
"Okay then."
Cas huddled up into the covers when Halm lay him down on the bed, seeming content for the moment. He yawned again and smiled a bit as he drifted off to sleep.
Halm made sure Cas was warm enough before leaving the room. His work was long, and he wasn't going to be able to get to bed until late. He yawned, stretching.
Cas was still huddled up in Halm's hoodie as well as the sheets and the comforter, so he was plenty warm. Most people would be melting by that point, but Cas was perfectly content.
Halm shuffled into the bedroom when he was done, slipping his shoes off and climbing into the bed with Cas.
Cas turned to face Halm and curled up against him, clinging to the God for warmth.
Halm wrapped his arms around Cas tiredly.
"Sweet dreams," he mumbled quietly, closing his eyes and falling asleep.
Cas was, as per usual, still asleep when Halm awoke. He was flush up against Halm at this point with his head tucked under the God's chin.
Halm pulled away just slightly to check on Cas, then pulled him close again and put this head back on top of Cas's. He rubbed Cas's back a little, smiling.
