"That makes sense." Matthew finished getting ready for the day, looking to Rowan.
"Shall we wake them up now?"
"That makes sense." Matthew finished getting ready for the day, looking to Rowan.
"Shall we wake them up now?"
"Probably, yeah…" Rowan gently pet the chicks' heads. "Wake up, babies… breakfast time."
Timmy woke up first, yawning. He looked up as the other two woke up as well. He held his arms up to Rowan, still clingy after the night before.
Rowan smiled softly and picked up Timmy to hold him close. "I know, love… are you hungry?"
Timmy cuddled close to Rowan's hand, nodding a bit. He yawned, resting his head on Rowan's finger.
"Matthew? Could you fetch the grubs?" Rowan asked, softly petting Timmy still.
"Three grubs, comming up!" Matthew chuckled softly, killing three grubs for the chicks. Timmy leaned into the petting, one hand going up to hold onto Rowan's finger.
Rowan handed the chicks their grubs, continuing to pet Timmy as best he could. "Here you go, baby… you gotta eat."
Timmy hesitantly took the grub, eating. He stayed curled up in Rowan's hand. Tammy started tearing into her grub, Tommy eating with a yawn.
"We're gonna have to go today to get my things… but we hopefully won't be gone too long. I promise we'll be back."
Timmy immediently gave a distressed whine, pushing the grub away from himself to cling onto Rowan's hand. He clung tightly to him, shaking his head.
Rowan sighed and held Timmy close. "I know, baby… I gotta get my things, though."
Timmy shook his head again, whimpering and trying not to cry. He still refused to let up with his grip, a couple tears falling.
"Shh, shh, it's okay…" Rowan gently brushed Timmy's tears away. "It's okay, baby. You don't gotta cry."
Timmy looked up at Rowan with wide eyes, still whimpering a bit. He tightened his grip a bit.
"You're alright, I promise…" Rowan rested his head against Timmy's and sighed shakily before glancing over to Matthew.
Matthew was biting his lip. He didn't like seeing Timmy like this, not at all, but he still didn't know if it would be safe for him to come. Timmy leaned his head against Rowan's forehead, trying not to cry again.
"Can you finish eating for me, baby?" Rowan asked gently, holding the rest of the grub out to Timmy. "I wanna make sure you're okay…"
Timmy hesitated. He took one arm from Rowan's finger, then pulled the grub to himself. He held it in his mouth, going back to clinging to Rowan.
Rowan sighed softly as he continued petting Timmy. "How are you feeling?"
Timmy sniffled a bit as he ate, just shaking his head. He was worried, terrified Rowan would force him to let go.
Rowan looked over to Matthew again, unsure what to do. Timmy obviously wouldn't do well if they left him here with his siblings.
Matthew let out a soft sigh.
"Maybe we really should take him with us," he said finally.
"Maybe…" Rowan sighed softly as well. "I don't think he'd be able to handle being here without us…"
"Yeah…" Matthew sighed softly. "I say bring him with us."
