Matthew glanced at the chicks. They were still asleep, thankfully, looking peaceful.
"They're doing great." He smiled sweetly.

"That's good…" Rowan sighed softly in relief and gently pet the chicks. "What should we do with them while we're getting my things?"

Matthew thought a long moment.
"We could take them with us," he started. "Or we could hire someone to watch them."

"I'm not sure I feel safe bringing them with us… New York is dangerous and I don't think we could keep an eye on them."

Matthew nodded a bit.
"So, hire a sitter?"

"Probably for the best, yeah… do you know of any good ones?" Rowan asked softly.

"Hm…" Matthew thought a moment.
"I think so!"

"Alrighty. And you're sure they're reliable?" Rowan asked.

"I'm sure." Matthew smiled, holding Rowan close in his hold.
"They'll be taken care of."

"Alright…" Rowan nuzzled against Matthew's cheek affectionately. "I dunno what I'd do if something happened to them."

"I do. I'd probably try that murder thing you talked about." Matthew chuckled a bit, showing he was joking. Mostly.

Rowan giggled a bit. "Yeah, me too… I haven't even known them all that long, but they're my babies now."

Matthew nodded.
"Yes, they are." he smiled a bit, looking at them. "I'd never let anyone hurt them."

"Me either… I hope they'll be okay with a sitter." Rowan sighed nervously.

"I'm sure they will be. We'll make sure to wake them up when it's time, yeah?" Matthew smiled softly.

Rowan nodded a bit and gently pet the chicks again. "You don't think they'll be too stressed, will they?"

Matthew thought a moment.
"We'll have to see," he finally said. Tammy woke up at the petting, leaning into Rowan's hand before even opening her eyes.

(Alrighty)
"Hi, baby… how are you feeling?" Rowan asked Tammy softly, still petting her head.

Tammy leaned into Rowan's hand, placing a little kiss to his hand. She let out a low tune, grinning up at him. She seemed to be doing good.

Rowan smiled gently as he pet the chick. "That's good… Matthew and I are gonna be heading to my home soon to get my things, so we're gonna leave you here with somebody while we're doing that, okay?"

Tammy tilted her head a bit, seeming to be confused.
"I don't think she's seen anyone other than us," Matthew mused softly.

"Oh, right… well, um… another person, like us but not us, is gonna take care of you for a bit, okay?"

Tammy looked between Matthew and Rowan, head tilting again. She gave a soft chirp. She thought she understood.

"I'll take that as you understand… I don't want you to be scared when you're not with us, okay?"

Tammy looked between Rowan and Matthew again, eyes widening a bit. That's what they meant! She moved to the edge of the nest, slipping down into Rowan's lap.
