I still can't see how that would work, what would the government do? Would all computers owned by minors suddenly stop showing media like that after, say, 4 hours of it being used? I don't see the logic here

Maybe they would make it a law to have an ID to have an electronic device? Something like that? idk

Fun Fact: There is a line of programming code that could be enforced to be included when coding electronic devices that set a maximum amout of output time. It just needs a switch to be flipped to turn on the function.
So yeah, it is possible if it was made to be government-regulated.

I'd rather not have all my contact with social media (I don't actually have any other than PaigeeWorld and the Notebook forums, but still), all my favorite games, all my YouTube access, and nearly everything I use taken away from me by the government because "Teens obsessed with the media are annoying". It just seems pointless to make all these laws and regulations for something so small?

@HighPockets group

When that happens, our world is lost.

Indeed.

"So this is how liberty dies: with thunderous applause." - Padme Amidala
Also another underrated gem of a quote I love:
"The day we stop believing democracy can work is the day we lose it." - Queen Jamila

I don't especially like democracy. But I realize it is the best option.

Same here honestly. I don't like it but it seems to be the best solution for a government so far. If only Communism could reach it's last stage, then that would be great. But sadly so far it is only great in theory.

There are a lot of studies linking constant internet/social media use is linked to several negative things such as depression, anxiety, impatience, etc.

So far no where has reached true communism.

This is probably a terrible comparison but… There are also studies proving that eating excessive amounts of junk food is going to make you sick but we're not going to regulate McDonald's, are we? Instead, we should have our parents teach us not to eat too much junk food, and limit our ability to access it so we learn to live without it.

Actually I'd love it if we regulated McDonald's, I've worked there before and it's nasty as heck

Well I technically I can't argue with that. But I don't want to live under true Communism.

But that would restrict the freedom of people.

@SaltyLasagna

Yeah, I guess
I have like a whole thing I wanna talk about relating to this but I don't wanna rn so I'm just gonna stay quiet until something comes up lmao

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

Okay, but if the government banned stupid things, we’d have to ban extreme ironing, Derek Savage, driving in snow, eating at sketchy restaurants, the entire Twilight series, half the community of Tik Tok, my little brother, and much more

Deleted user

Stupid as in what you think? What the senators we elect think? If we did that, a lot of people would get upset.

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

How bout practically all of Tik Tok

yeah that needs to be banned immediately

I would agree but then again a few of my favorite artists and crafters did challenges with it and they were quite entertaining…

Actually, no they didn't, NerdECrafter always tells you if a video was sponsored, it's just one of those weird challenges that's floating around due to the fact that all the videos have to be really short, so art tutorials on there are often really confusing

fair enough, but tik tok is still evil and filled with annoying children and predators
