Dom, that's one of the most ignorant things I've ever seen you say. The only thing I agree with is the fact that you have a right to have your own beliefs, but that I do not have to respect them.
Just because homophobia has the word phobia in it, doesn't mean it's a fear of gay people. Words can evolve. It happens in all languages.
I'm going to say this once.
People hate gay people, and if you disagree, you are extremely ignorant and blind.
Do yourself a favor and read up on LGBT violence in the world. People get assaulted. Raped. Killed. Don't try to tell me hatred toward gay people doesn't exist because I've experienced it. Take it from a bisexual person who's been called nasty words, attacked, and threatened.

He's aware, and we're both against that violence. I think what he meant was the word 'homophobic' is really stupid because no one's afraid of LGBT people. They're hateful towards them, but not afraid.

Now if it is taken to mean haters of lgbt people that is also incorrect. Most people who disagree with such things bear no hatred towards you.

And many people (while not denying the hate exists) do not hate lgtb people and merely disagree with them. And then slurs like "homophobe" are slung at the that are not accurate.

"man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination" (mistranslation aside)

But let's think for a moment. Gay men are attracted to men, not to women so If a gay man were to sleep/lay beside a woman there would be no sexual lust/attraction/action/etc. But if he were to 'lay' with another man there certainly would be.

My point being a gay man would NOT lay with a man as he would a woman. So this statement would be false. The same would be for bisexual men. The sexual act itself is different. The Love between them is not the same as it would be with a woman.

I'd also like to point out that they say nothing, nothing about gay/bisexual women. So technically. I'm not sinning. :P

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22)

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)

These are the quotes in question just in case anyone was wondering the wording. Please wait a moment for me to destroy the fuck out of them

I grinned while laughing. (Another facial anomaly.)

Eris creates a damn miracle…. Am I a god?

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

The fact that somebody is gay has nothing to do with you.

This is the most overlooked statement in the history of modern humanity.

And politically I support them. (Like I think it's stupid for them not to have legal marriage.) So long as I am not forced to do anything I don't want to do for a group I don't support. #Libertarian

Of course. We discussed this. You are the Goddess of Word Vomit and I am The Great Trope Breaker.

This could also mean straight men shouldn't lay with men of they're not gay
It could mean a lot of things

Back from research.

"an insinuation or allegation about someone that is likely to insult them or damage their reputation."

Hmm. Sounds like a slur to me.

Your wording insinuates this is the definition of homophobe. It’s not, it’s the definition of slur. Don’t do that

And that’s not why people call homophobic people homophobes

I've heard it said on numerous occasions by a number of anti-gay organizations and supporters that they are 'afraid gays will ruin the sanctity of marriage." and/or are "afraid that their child will turn out gay if exposed to gays." so I actually do think most are afraid of the gays and their totally normal lives.

Also, gay marriage has been legal for some time now…I have heard zero news about how the idea of marriage has been destroyed or ruined. People are celebrating and spreading joy and happiness. Gay couples can adopt children as a married couple now. There hasn't been a single thing back about this outcome. Other than the violence that gayphobic people have caused.

Loving that technicality.

Am I wrong though?

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

Okay. Dudes. I have explained the whole gay and shellfish etc. argument too many times in the past to feel up to typing it now. Here is a video that explains better than I might.

Guys. If you want an explanation please watch this. (It's also from a religious comedy group so…)

Well obviously I think you are morally wrong. But that will never stop me from loving a lawyeresqe (jeez that word) joke.

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

I'm fully aware that my opinion could be wrong, but unless God Himself comes and tells me, I'm sticking with it.

Lmao ignorant much

In any other topic, I wouldn't feel the same way, but considering the fact that only God knows what He meant and the wrong opinion here could send me to hell, I'm sticking to my current belief, the one that's been passed down for centuries. I know I could have the wrong opinion, which is why I'm not very strict with it and don't try to force it down the throats of others.

Hey, Dom! I'm curious about how homophobe has ever, in the history of the word, been used to oppress someone!

I'm not Dom, but I have seen it being thrown around (like the term "racist") at people in an attempt to damage their reputation or turn others against them.

"'afraid gays will ruin the sanctity of marriage."" Well that is incorrect. The damage was done well before the gays had legal marriage.
"I have heard zero news about how the idea of marriage has been destroyed or ruined." Well you might not be in the right place to hear that. I hear such things on a somewhat regular basis. Only Wednesday I had a conversation involving that from a fellow college student I had never talked to before.
