“You can stay but I still wanna tell a story.”
“You can stay but I still wanna tell a story.”
"Sure, I don't mind, I'm bored out of my mind anyhow."
"Sure. Story." said Brie.
By now, Hinata was in a tugging competition with her author.
The wind suddenly shrieked outside of the tavern and the lights started to flicker. The customers looked around. The barkeeper stomped on the bar and everyone flinched. “Listens up ladies and gentleman and…other things. I’ve got a story to tell and I’m telling it.”
Hinata looked up. This was gonna be something, that's for sure.
“Once, I walked around an ancient library filled with dusty books. A story full of stories was too alluring an irony. As I walked by I brushed the book’s spines with my hands. I didn’t realize what I was doing until I heard a crash coming from a few shelves over.” The barkeeper paced across the bar nearly knocking over people’s drinks.
"That fucking sucks dude." The author muttered, definitely on some sort of high.
Hinata's eyebrow shot up.
"Get to the homoerotic subtext, dude! Story's been long enough!" Brie shouted. "Shut the fuck up." Eris murmured.
The barkeep glanced at them. “I dashed to see what made the racket. When I reached the corridor it was filled with creatures such as yourselves. Strange and different. I still thought I was human so they scared me.” She continued.
Hinata nodded. She understood the feeling.
“A mermaid gasped and flopped on the floor. A man in a long cloak with pointed teeth stood on the top of the shelf glaring. A warlock desperately cast spells at the other creatures. Beady eyes watched from in between books. The source of the noice was a knight in shining armor viciously attacking and knocking over the books.” The barkeep pauses for dramatisim.
“I was about to run away when a thought crossed my mind. I raced back to the books I had been browsing when the commotion started. The Little Mermaid, Dracula, Wizard Realm, Night of the Garden Gnomes, Knights of the Round Table, and many, many more.”
“Yeah, So apperently the powers I didn’t know I had made the characters come to life. And that’s how I found out I wasn’t human. The end.” The barkeeper plopped down off the bar and the lights and wind returned to normal. “Then a whole bunch of stuff happened, and now I’m here.”
Lucas blinked.
“I’m gonna pretend like I understand…” he set down his glass and put down some coins. “Well, I better get going now…my colleagues are calling me” he said as he got his messenger bag.
“Yeah, have fun with that.” The barkeeper waved him goodbye without looking up.
"I'm just cursed becuase someone thought it would be a good idea for me, a literal spirit of time, to time travel in a cursed object." Mendax growled, sending glares to the author.
Lucas walked right out of the bar and opened a portal, similar to what Josiah did earlier and stepped through. The portal closed immediately after his body was on the other side.
The barkeeper looked up at Mendax. "That really sucks man. Did it take you somewhere fun at least?"
"No, I got stuck on a space ship a thousand or so years." He muttered. "Then, I got sent to a different dimension for a few years."
"Hm, fun."
An old woman walks in and kindly asks “please serve me a small dragon juice”
"Dra…dragon juice? Are you sure you're in the right place?" The barkeep looked around the bar to see if anyone knew what dragon juice was. Everyone looked equally confused by the old lady.
"Perhaps you should be a bit more specific of what kind of 'Dragon Juice', cause that can be taken so many different ways."
A scaled male was leaning against a wall further away. A serpentine tail curled around himself as he kept to his position, arms crossing his chest. His entire body was covered in dark teal scales, appearing dragon, but his form was like a human. A pair of horns curled outwards from his head, long, unnaturally white hair flowing from his head.
He opened his eyes, a glowing yellow. The pupils were round, showing his calm state. A smirk appeared on his face, "Cause personally, I took 'Dragon Juice' as something…heh…ya know what, I'll leave it to your imagination."
