"Oh really?" Valerie raised an eyebrow, "Never would have guessed mister melodramatic."
"Oh really?" Valerie raised an eyebrow, "Never would have guessed mister melodramatic."
“I don’t know what that means, but it’s uncalled for.” Luke protested. “Plus I worked for a writer one time, that’s definitely their thing.”
"Luke and the Lions," Shace suggested, then scowled. "What am I talking about, I hate cats. Luke and the Liars. Accurate, but not compelling. Luke and the Leaders. Luke and the Liquidators. Luke and the Lycanthrope. I think I like that one best."
Luke laughed, smiling warmly at Shace. “You’re forgetting half the crew, Wolf!” He teased, squeezing her hand gently.
"Why does Luke have to be the one name we use in the group title?" Rheyna asked. "I really don't think he's the leader here."
"Yeah, and neither are you." Shace's scowl deepened, trying to come up with a name starting with R that actually sounded bad. ((I just realized I can't))
Luke thought for a moment before his eyes lit up with mischief. “Valerie and the Vixens!” He shouted, grinning.
Shace gave Luke a strange look. "You're a vixen?"
“Shace, my good looks allow me to pass the gender barrier behind the word.” Luke attempted to flip his hair, trying to hold back laughter and failing miserably.
"I don't think any of us are vixens." Rheyna stated simply.
"I-If you say so, elfie." Shace looked like she was in pain.
Luke reflexively squeezed Shace’s hand. Evident worry seeping across his face as his ears drooped. “You okay, Shace?”
Shace rolled her eyes, patting Luke. "I was."
Luke looked at Shace in confusion, allowing himself to be pet. “Are you in pain?”
Valerie looked at the werewolf, "I can help you if you are?"
"I'm fine!" Shace stared at them, bemused. "Did your sense of humor die?"
"No, just confused that's all," Valerie responded.
“You’re too good an actor.” Luke complained, relaxing immediately. “You’re banned from teasing.”
Shace shrugged. "Only if you stop too." She turned to Rheyna. "So how are you going to start your new life?"
Rheyna hadn't thought that far yet. "I don't know. I guess I could just follow you guys around, as much as I would hate that."
“You’ll get used to us eventually.” Luke grinned, his ears flicking upwards.
"Yeah, you keep thinking that." Rheyna responded, smiling ever so slightly.
“How’d you recognize my whistle anyways?” Luke looked up at Rheyna with confusion written all over his face.
Rheyna sighed. I guess it's time to reveal why I'm a halfblood. "Well the first time I just followed it because it seemed interesting. The next time you whistled, I recognized it from before. Sirens can remember notes, or in this case whistles, pretty easily."
“You’re a siren? That’s awesome!” Luke’s eyes lit up. As if on cue, he let out his strange, low whistle.
