(oh)
(oh)
(fixed sorry my brain mush..)
“It is.” she confirmed, looking over at the potentially Force-sensitive young man. “Very real and very dangerous. I’m sure by now it's common knowledge that the Emperor was a Sith which means he was very strong in the Dark Side of the Force.” Calista pointed out. “Even just the hallway to his private office in this building is still affected by it.”
Hawkin just kept smuding the grease on his face.
"Well if there's a lock on that door, I can definitely get through it. However…"
He trailed off and looked up at Calista.
"I cannot promise that if I touch anything in that hallway, or anything that the emperor may have touched, that I won't get a memory flash. I mean look at me. I'm covered in grease and I smell like hyper fuel. I'm shocked I haven't sent myself into a memory fit yet, just by smelling like this. Unless you fully believe that it's not the fumes. And if that's the case, what do you think it could be?"
(it's ok. We all have those days.)
he looked at hawkin "sure ill call you that last one" when he got a look from calista "I'm kidding I'm kidding.. hawk is fine with me…" he looked at her "so..how are we going to finish what we came here to start?…" he then looked at hawkin and whispered "and can he be trusted?…"
Calista rolled her eyes at Jado teasing Hawkin and shook her head. “I would still like to find what answers we can get from there. I can go and use the holo setting on my commlink so you can see what I do… but I admit I don't want to go alone. And I’m not very good at data slicing.” she blushed. Of all the unorthodox things she had to learn to survive during the reign of the Empire, that had not been one of them. “I believe he can. He wasn't wrong earlier… I am curious about the droid he found but there is something about him as well.” she whispered back, though she doubted it was actually a secret.
“I don't want to force you to come if you don't want to.” Calista told him, even though she suspected that his mechanical skill set could be very helpful. Though she smiled slightly when Hawkin mentioned his suspicion of the fumes being the source of his visions. “I don't think that is the case. The fumes may be familiar to you and you associate them with feeling calm and let your guard down.” she tried to clarify. “I suspect that you may be sensitive to the Force since the memory flashes you describe sound very much like an ability I have heard of in Jedi but never mastered for myself.”
Hawkin smiled and stood up. The droid was fixed.
"Well if you believe that I'm something special, then I guess I'm coming along. You gotta tell me about this ability. Does this also mean I possess a chance of doing what you, and throwing people? Also, you guys aren't great whisperers. I got that lock. Easy."
“Actually, I do believe that.” she nodded with a kind smile. “That ability, if it is what I think it is, is not an ability that can be learned. It's something you are born with. But yes, it also means that you could learn to use the Force in other ways, like I can. And I wasn't trying to hide anything. I was just whispering poorly because Jado was whispering.” Calista chuckled. Though she wondered how well Jado could whisper with his helmet.
"so…ill just stay here…by myself…this time right…their wont be a stupid guard..right?…" he glanced at her then looked at hawkin then back at calista "you can trust me it wont happen again…." he pulled out a holo screen and tuned it with his com "alright I'm ready…"
“Right. No guard this time. You don't need one.” Calista assured, trying to reinforce her last statement to both of them. Jado was no doubt capable of defending himself and, if she was right about the situation, keeping him away from Palpatine’s office should keep him out of danger. She let out a calming breath and turned to Hawkin, activating her com as well. “Are you ready?”
Hawkin picked up the droid and his bo rifle and put them on his back.
"So you're saying that I'm really really special. Got it. I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Let's go slice that lock."
“Don't let it go to your head.” Calista warned gently before leading the way back down those cold halls. It was just as unpleasant for her as it was the first time. “Try to keep your guard up. It may help protect you from any effects from just being here and any visions you don't want.”
"just come back safe…" he looked at hawkin "and you as well you might be useful if those stupid mechanics cant fix my arc-170 hyperdrive.."
(i wish i knew how to send images cause I found a cool app that draws what we want and I did a 501st clonetrooper in mando armor and found something awesome)
Hawkin tilted his head, and started to follow Calista.
"I'll try not to let it get to my head, and I'll keep my guard up. But not knowing what will happen is an uncertainty that drives me crazy."
He looked over his shoulder.
"And as for an Arc-170 hyperdrive, it won't be the first Clone War Era ship or hyperdrive that I've ever worked on."
He watched on the holo and waited for them to get to the office and the files and he looked around "alright..the office should be right ahead I remember walking down there… there is a lock on the door and I don't think anyone has entered that office for a couple of years now…"
(uhhhh…i might have a problem i think my school is trying to block notebook.ai for some reason)
"I understand that feeling." Calista nodded. "As much as I like to know what to expect or have answers, I've learned to trust the Force that it will come at the right time. But the waiting can be… challenging." she smirked slightly, holding up the holographic image so the boys could talk to each other.
(nvm the thing said discord must have clicked some link)
"oh?…you've fixed an arc-170?…interest….lemme guess space pirates…the idiots can't even fly them very well…they think it's a one-seater fighter like those atrocious tie fighters…they disgrace those beautiful ships" he sighed calming himself "so…do you trust droids to help you fix something?….or do you do it yourself…"
Hawkin shrugged.
"Well. I've been waiting for answers my whole life. I'm okay with that."
He watched as Calista raised the holo so he could see Jado. He laughed at his question.
"Heck yeah, I've worked on Arc fighters. Most of them that I fix are from bounty hunters or scrappers looking for something that can move around. As for fixing things, I rather like doing it myself. I find that I can work faster than the droids. But I do utilize their help when I need two things done at the same time. But when it comes to the finer things, like delicate engines, or bionics, or cybernetic improvements that creatures and people want me to work on. I don't mind it. I love my work."
Calista smiled a little at the easy flow of conversation between her companions. It was a nice distraction from how she was feeling and it helped her relax a little. She still kept her mental shields up but she wasn't as tense as she was earlier.
"i will show you the arc fight before I got to go for another bounty or if this office don't have any dang answers but shes nice…real nice…now hows the progress you at the chancellor's office?.." he got back on track with their progress
Hawkin looked past the holo.
"We're making good progress. Haven't reached the lock yet, but we're getting close. And I would definitely love to see the Arc fighter. And if the guys supposedly fixing the hyperdrive mess up, I know I can fix it. I'm certain of it."
“We are getting close.” Calista confirmed, not taking her eyes off the path ahead. “But don't forget, if we don't find many answers here… we were planning to see if we could find more on Kamino.” she reminded Jado even though she still wasn't sure what state that planet would be in. She was almost certain that the Empire had done something to hide Palpatine’s secrets but she couldn't remember what.
Hawkin looked at Calista.
"Kamino? Where have I heard that name before? What type of planet is it?"
