"They're my best friends?" Cammy said, tilting her head in confusion. "Of course I'd have things for them. "
"They're my best friends?" Cammy said, tilting her head in confusion. "Of course I'd have things for them. "
Alex looked towards the ground, "Right, yeah… apart from Shiro I've never really had a best friend before so I wouldn't know…"
"Honestly, I might just be weird. Don't sweat it." Cammy closed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder as she bumped him.
Alex cracked a smile, and bumped her back, "Nah, you're definitely weird."
"How rude." Cammy feigned offense, placing a hand over her heart.
Alex chuckled, “Whatever. C’mon, don’t we have more cleaning to do?”
"Aw man, you're right." Cammy wrinkled her nose, smile still in place as she looked around. "Let's check out that room, see what we can clean inside."
Alex nodded, making his way towards the room Cammy pointed out. He pushed open the door, searching around for a light switch before he finally found it.
Cammy was already in the room before Alex had found the lightswitch, looking around. They had gone through some sort of side door into a large, open room with a high ceiling and elegant decor. "It's a ballroom."
Alex raised a brow, walking further into the room and spinning in a circle was he was in the center, “Damn… this place is epic.”
"I feel like I'm in a Disney movie." Cammy said softly, her voice carrying throughout the large and fairly empty ballroom despite the low level of her volume. "Dancing bears, painted wings, things I almost remember.." She sang quietly, a small smile playing on her lips.
Alex looked over towards Cammy, “And a song, someone sings, once upon a December.” He finished the lyric, looking away so she wouldn’t see his blush.
Cammy blinked, half of a babbled sentence in Spanish spilling from her lips before she could stop herself. She shook her head, repeating herself in English this time. "Dude. You're a Disney fan?"
Alex frowned, though the blush seemed to darken, “One, Anastasia is not Disney and two… m-maybe…”
"My category for Disney includes anything similar, because it's the only name I can remember." Cammy said, waving dismissively as she practically bounced on her feet. "And maybe? You just sang back to me! Not even Hunk does that!"
“You mention to anyone that I did and I’ll cut your tongue out.” Alex turned back to her and crossed his arms, though he didn’t make eye contact with her.
"While part of me desperately wants to go and tell everyone right now, it'd be really hard to make out with someone without a tongue." Cammy mused, sighing dramatically. She huffed a laugh, placing her hands on her hips as she spun around, returning to looking around the ballroom.
Alex sighed a little, walking around the outside of the ballroom. This time it was his turn to him softly, almost having a light bounce in his step as he did so.
Cammy's mouth quirked up into a smile at the sound of Alex humming, and she winked over at him before closing her eyes. The steps from the dance instruction videos she'd watched as a kid came to mind easily, and despite being a bit rusty, she didn't have too much issue with them.
Alex looked over to Cammy and watched her for a moment, keeping up the tune before he eventually started singing it, words easily flowing from his lips. The song was kind of slow and… relaxing.
Ballroom dancing without a partner felt slightly odd, but she'd never really had one before, except for her mom on the occasion. Alex's voice hit Cammy's ears as he sang, and she hummed along to the sound.
Alex slowly made his way towards Cammy, starting to slightly regret the decision he was about to make. The song never stopped and soon he gently took Cammy’s hands in his own and danced with her,
Cammy's eyes shot open as she looked up at Alex in surprise, but she didn't say anything, absolutely not wanting to interrupt his singing. And part of her…enjoyed it, the dancing.
Alex spun Cammy around the ballroom gracefully. It did take a lot of concentration to dance and sing at the same time but he didn't mind. He hadn't danced for a few years but he was still pretty good.
Cammy relinquished the lead, laughing softly as they danced around the ballroom. He was pretty good at dancing, something she definitely hadn't expected at all.
