Alex hummed his agreement, nodding a little, "Yeah. It would be. Let's just hope that that doesn't happen."
Alex hummed his agreement, nodding a little, "Yeah. It would be. Let's just hope that that doesn't happen."
"We have to get all the dust ourselves." Cammy decided suddenly, placing her hands on her hips as she looked around suspiciously. "Before it gets any ideas."
Alex chuckled lightly and nodded, "I guess we'll have to find the cleaning products then."
"Aw man. I find out I'm an alien, and I have to clean. Where would they even be?" Cammy tilted her head, looking around. "I don't want to get lost again, so you're stuck with me until I figure shit out."
Alex sighed softly, "I was kidding, we're not actually going to clean… right?" He raised a brow.
"Unless you've got a better idea for something to do. This place has gotta be dusty as hell." Cammy said, raising an eyebrow back.
Alex pinched the bridge of his nose, "Fine, fine… I'll help you clean or whatever."
Cammy brightened, waving for him to follow as she started off down an obviously randomly selected hallway. "Great!"
The red paladin sighed, shaking his head an muttering something a he followed. He was going to regret this.
"Stop being so grumpy." Cammy instructed playfully, skipping along. Though she had absolutely no clue where the hell she was going, just having Alex there made it easy to shove away any fear.
"I can't. It's my nature." Alex deadpanned with a roll of his eyes. If they got lost then he was going to blame Cammy.
"Obviously. You've been grumpy since I first met you." In all honesty, that was probably Cammy's fault, considering she was pretty easy to take the wrong way.
"I've been grumpy since I was born. It's in my DNA to be constantly pissed off." Alex mumbled, falling into step next to Cammy.
"That's too bad." Cammy said, glancing over at him. "'Cause your smiles are nice." She turned down another hallway, checking as many doors as she could for a janitor's closet or something.
That comment had Alex stopping in his tracks, blinking in shock. Well, he had not expected that. He was sure he was blushing just a little but he ignored it and frowned, though it was slightly forced.
"I wonder if they've got a library." Cammy mused, seemingly moving on from the comment, though a small smile played on her lips. "It'd be cool to learn Altean or something, and read whatever the Shakespeare equivalent is for them."
Alex shook his head a little, "Y-Yeah… yeah it would be cool…" He muttered.
"Oh, god, I wonder if they have Rowling." Cammy muttered in obvious horror, poking her head into another room.
"I doubt they would, Cammy." Alex replied, following her quickly.
"Not like, an actual Rowling. I mean like, a Rowling-esque writer. One who was really good and now won't shut the fuck up?" Cammy rambled, grinning as she found a closet full of cleaning supplies through some stroke of luck.
Alex cracked a small smile, running a hand through his hair, "Okay okay, I get whet you mean." He walked over and grabbed something that looked like a duster and polish.
"If the multiverse theory is true, that means there's a universe where Rowling left things as great as they were." Cammy continued, yet another slight subject change as she picked through the supplies, settling on what she assumed and hoped was the Altean equivalent of Windex.
"Wise words blue paladin… wise words…" Alex hit Cammy in the stomach playfully with the duster before heading off to find a surface to clean.
"Rude!" Cammy called, her voice bubbling with laughter as she followed him, pausing occasionally to wipe down a lamp fixture using the rag she'd grabbed and the 'Windex'. She hummed as she did, for a few minutes, until suddenly falling silent as she remembered Alex saying it was distracting.
Now Alex thought about it, Cammy's humming wasn't so distracting. When in battle, yes but just doing mundane things it wasn't too bad, "You… You can hum if you want…" He said quietly.
