Alex found himself watching Cammy more then Coran while Coran spewed out information to her. He frowned at himself but didn't stop himself for some reason.
One of Cammy's most noticeable habits was braiding and unbraiding little bits of her hair, resulting in a bunch of scattered braids throughout her hair. A small smile played on her lips as she watched Coran gesture wildly, possibly a bit too wildly for the current topic of his monologue.
Alex stuck that fact about Cammy in the back of his brain in case of… emergency? He didn't know why he decided to remember it but he was going to.
"Shapeshifting?" Cammy spoke suddenly, during a pause Coran took to breathe, as she recalled a sentence in the middle of the long-winded but informational rant. That…made a bit of sense.
Alex perked up at the mention of shape shifting, "What about shape shifting?"
"Oh, yes! That is another common trait!" Coran said excitedly, easily switching topics. "Like chameleons, if you must!"
"That explains a lot." Cammy said, rubbing the back of her neck.
Alex raised a brow an scratched at the back of his neck, "Cool…"
"What's the extent of those abilities, d'you think?" Cammy asked, tilting her head. The sharpness to her canines when she was mad, the reflective qualities of her eyes in the dark, all things that stood out as examples.
"Well, considering we don't know how much Altean you've got running through you," Coran said, bouncing on his feet. "We can't be sure. Not without tests, that is."
"Do… do the Galra have anything like that?" Alex asked, looking down at his feet.
"Shapeshifting? AH, no, I do not believe so." Coran said, mustache twitching as he thought. "They are incredibly strong, and fast, though. They tend to focus on agility and speed, and they are quite adept fighters, very good at picking up new tactics."
Alex nodded, processing the information, "Okay, interesting. Anything else we should know?"
"Not that I can think of at this moment! I will let you know if I do think of something!" Coran said, nodding. "If you have any specific questions, do come ask."
Alex offered a small smile, "Thank-you, Coran. I appreciate it."
"Anytime and anything for our young paladins!" Coran chirped, spinning on his heel. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I really must go check on the state of things. It has been quite some time!"
"Adios, Coran!" Cammy called after the Altean, shaking her head with a smile.
Alex gave Coran a two fingered salute, "See you." He replied, watching him go.
"I wonder if all Alteans are like that." Cammy mused, an odd pang flashing in her chest. She'd never get to find out, would she? And Allura will never get to see any of them again.
"Maybe they were… or maybe it's just Coran…" Alex replied, shrugging a shoulder. He felt bad for the three of them… it was his people's fault they were gone.
"Could you imagine?" Cammy turned to him, making a face as she smiled. "An entire civilization of Corans. Would anything get done? Or would everything get done?"
Alex surprised even himself when he cracked a small smile, "I feel like it would depend on the day whether they were productive or not."
"And the number of distractions." Cammy said, nodding. Her smile grew in response to his, oddly happy she'd managed to get a positive reaction. "Although, something tells me anything would be a distraction for him."
"A piece of dust flying by would be a distraction for Coran." Alex looked from the ground to Cammy.
Cammy snorted. "He'd have to get rid of it, and wouldn't rest until he did." She said with a lopsided grin. "It could take hours and he wouldn't notice."
"He'd get so lost in the task he'd probably forget what day it was or to eat and sleep."
"That's a mood if I ever heard one." Cammy said with a laugh, shaking her head. "It would be simultaneously worrying and hilarious."
