She has lived most of her life at Friar's Gate and has been educated by the Friar's and the Sisters. She spent a few years of her youth at Rivergarden, as they have the most complete histories of the realm. She copied these histories and took them back to Friar's Gate.

Not much is known about her background, other than her birth place and time in Rivergarden.

There is a white cat that prefers her company, although it is not her pet, but rather a member of the mouse hunting brigade. Izar calls her Elurra, which is snow in the old tongue.
