Kana suppressed a laugh from the governor's reaction to Jair.
"We're here to replace you of your job as governor. As such, we also need to escort you out from the building today, as this home belongs only to respectful governors."
Kana suppressed a laugh from the governor's reaction to Jair.
"We're here to replace you of your job as governor. As such, we also need to escort you out from the building today, as this home belongs only to respectful governors."
The governor pressed his lips into a thin line. "And where are you planning to put me? On the streets penniless for disagreeing?"
"This isn't because you disagreed with her." Jair said in a low voice. "This is because you are allowing children to starve in the streets, and taking away the food that rightfully belongs to the farmers. Don't try to twist this around."
The governor sneered slightly. "Call off your attack dog." He said.
"I'm not a dog. I am her personal guard, and I'm here to remind you to watch your tone." Jair said in an even tone.
"You will not disrespect my guard." Kana glared daggers at the governor. She would normally be patient and remain as polite as possible, but she was starting to despise this governor. The way he spoke, the way he moved… Everything about him put Kana on edge. "You will be granted a severance pay for your duties, regardless of how bad of a job you did." She scoffed at him, "But if you keep up your current behavior, I will personally see to it that you are treated the exact same way you treat your citizens."
The governor scoffed. "Any other demands, your highness?" He asked, still sneering slightly.
Jair pressed his lips into a thin line, and kept his sword out.
Kana wanted to slap him. "Yes. Don't speak to me like that ever again. Now," she moved slightly to the right and gestured towards the town. "Please escort yourself out immediately." She avoided eye contact with him, hoping he wouldn't do anything stupid.
The governor snorted. "Fine." He snarled, and started walking. As he passed, he spat at Kana's feet.
Jair's sword was out in a flash, hovering a hairs breadth away from the ex-governor's neck. He looked at Kana. "What should I do with him, your highness?"
She slowly looked up at the governor, with a deadly look on her face; an eyebrow arched and lips pursed. It somehow looked calm, but one could still tell that she was raging internally. Using a quiet voice that seemed to set others on edge, she replied, "We'll take him with us, back to the castle. I have a surprise for him."
One of the guards put him in handcuffs and decided to stay right behind him, in case if he tried to attempt anything.
The governor sneered at her, but said nothing.
Jair sheathed his sword. "Well. Shall we head back now, then? Or do you have something else you wanted to do first?"
"Let's head back." Kana was already making her way towards the gate, somehow still oblivious that she shouldn't be wandering off wherever.
The other guards followed her. The leader, who was keeping an eye on the governor, stayed in the back of the group.
Jair sighed, and got in front of her. "Kana, slow down!" He said softly. "For your own safety." He glanced back at her, then turned back to the gate, opening it and leading the way out.
She mumbled an apology, although she only partially meant it.
The guards thought it was odd for a guard to call the Queen by her name, but they didn't pay too much attention to it. After all, Jair and her spent a lot of time together. It would make sense if they grew close.
Jair's hair was still hanging loose around his shoulders, and he sort of wished he had time to stop and tie it back. But he didn't, which was fine.
(Another time skip? Unless if we want something to pop out of the blue and attack them. Or scare them.)
(another time skip sounds good! Back to the palace, I'd guess?)
(Yeah that sounds good!)
Time skiparoo
They had finally reached the palace. Kana was exhausted, and it showed. When others passed by, she would put up a front, but it would immediately falter when the stranger was out of sight. She spoke to the guards, "Throw him in a prison cell for now. His little guest should be here after a while."
The guards all left to escort the jerk ex-governor to his cell.
Kana looked over at Jair and gave him a weak smile. "A fine day of work,"
Jair nodded. "Yes. You should sleep." he said, looking at her worriedly. "Or at least rest. You're exhausted." he sighed softly. He was tired too, but due to his abilities, he knew he could keep going for a while longer. Of course, if Kana rested, he could too.
She yawned, covering her mouth with her hand whilst doing so. "Wow, how can you tell?" She asked with a tone of sarcasm in her voice. "But you're right. I'm sure you could use a break as well, so let's stop and rest for a bit."
Jair nodded. "Mostly I just want to take off this armor." it was hot, and uncomfortable, and he really wanted to be able to take it off. He also wanted a shower or bath, but that would have to wait until later.
"Take it off, then. We're at the palace after all." She walked into the uh, castle.
(I wish that I too could casually walk into my very own castle)
"I can't just take it off. I can't leave it lying around. I'll take it off when I reach my room." He replied.
(Lol samee XD also how do you do the strike through thing?)
"That's. Um, that's what I meant," she yawned. Her vision was getting blurry and her bones felt like lead. "Uh, yeah. What was I saying?" Kana tended to ramble when she was tired.

He chuckled softly. "Your highness, I can't go to my room until you go to yours, remember?" He said, looking at her.
(Ohh okay thank you!)
"Oooooh!" She smiled as though she remembered her favorite person. She walked over to her room and playfully told him, "Now go to your room,"
(No problem!)
"Are you going to bed?" He asked. His own room was next door to hers, although smaller and far less grand. It had been specifically designed with a bodyguard in mind.
Her eyes closed, she nodded her head. "Mhm…"
