He gave himself a once-over. "I think I'm okay." He said with a small smile. "And yes, both choices have an inherent risk, but we need to make a decision." He said, sheathing his sword. He winced slightly, and looked at his shoulder, which was bleeding. "Oh. I'll take care of that later, I guess."
She frowned. "We'll take care of it now." She carelessly walked around the village, looking around for signs of an inn. "Do you happen to know of any inns nearby?"
Jair sighed. "No. But let me take the lead before you get hurt." He replied, taking the lead. He led her through the main street, to a small inn. He turned to her. "Two adjoining rooms?" He asked her. "Or what would you prefer?"
"Two adjoining rooms is fine," she replied with a soft smile
He nodded, and turned back to the landlady. "Two adjoining rooms, and some extra coin for your silence and dinner." He said.
The landlady's eyes widened. "Of-of course, sir." She started walking, leading them inside. "Anything else?"
Jair looked at Kana. "Anything else?"
Kana looked at the landlady. "Bandages," she was speaking in a hushed voice. "If you have any."
The landlady nodded. "Of course." She said, leading them to a pair of small, but clean rooms. "My daughter will be up with your dinner in a bit, and I'll be right back with the bandages."
Jair nodded. "Thank you, ma'am." He said with a small smile.
The landlady nodded again, and bustled away.
Jair went into the rooms, checking each one before coming back out. "Safe." He told Kana.
"Good," she sighed with relief. "Now, go sit down." She lightly pushed him towards one of the beds and closed the door behind her.
He sat down on the bed. "Why?" He asked, already shedding his armor. He was wearing just a simple shirt and pants underneath. The right shoulder of the shirt was bloodstained.
Kana raised an eyebrow at him. "You can't be serious." She walked over to the bed and sat on his right side. She began to examine the wound, trying not to touch him. "You're bleeding. And until I get you patched up, I can't rest."
Jair sighed. "I'll heal." He replied. "It just needs a bandage and I'm okay." He told her, unbuttoning the shirt and pulling off the right side for better access to the wound.
(How deep is this wound, exactly?)
(not super deep, but deeper than the average scratch if that makes sense XD)
(Yeah it does lol)
Kana gently touched the skin around the wound. "Does that hurt?" She looked at him with worried eyes.
(good lol)
He shrugged. "Not too much. Their blades weren't poisoned or anything, if that's what you're worried about." He peered down at his shoulder. "And it's a clean cut."
The landlady knocked on the door. "I have the bandages for you!" She called.
Jair opened the door, forgetting that his shirt was hanging half open and typically, most people didn't appreciate that. Nor the wound sending rivulets of blood down his chest. "Thank you." He said, taking the bandages and closing the door.
Kana got up and took the bandages out of his hands. "Sit," she gestured for him to go back to his original state.
He sighed, and sat down again. "I can do this myself, Kana. There's no need for you to."
Kana looked down and bit her lip. For a queen, you think that she wouldn't be so easily discouraged, but she was. "Right," she looked back up and gave him a smile. "Of course you can. I just felt like I should be helping is all."
Jair smiled slightly. "No, you don't need to. It's fine. Just doing my job." He took the bandages, and started cleaning off the wound.
Kana was watching him. Not on purpose, she just lost track of what she was doing and started to space off.
He frowned slightly, and mopped up the blood that had run down his chest. There wasn't any fat on his lean body, from years of combat training and dueling. Once he was done cleaning it, he started binding the wound, not really noticing that Kana was watching.
Kana realized she was watching and immediately looked away in embarrassment. "Er, so you'll take this room, right?"
Jair glanced up. "Hmm? Oh. I'll take whatever room you don't want." He replied as he finished binding it. He pulled his shirt back on, buttoning it up.
"Right. I'll take the other room, then," Kana walked over to the other room and forgot to close the door behind her. (If there isn't a door that separates their rooms, forget that last part) She sat on the edge of the bed and sighed.
(I was planning on there being a door between the two rooms, yes)
Jair sighed softly, and started cleaning off his armor and sword, putting the armor to the side carefully as he finished cleaning each piece.
