He nodded, and went into his room. "Alright." He closed his door, and started taking off his armor.
(Ooh yess!)

Kana went into her room, locking the door behind her, and collapsed onto the bed.
time skip to about an hour later
Kana woke up with a blade to her neck, and her hands tied.. (What a fine way to wake up!) She asked the assassin what they wanted. She was told to not say a word and she decided it was best to obey. When the assassin walked away from her to open the secret passage, Kana screamed. Loudly. "JAIR!"
Jair woke up at hearing the scream, and leapt out of bed. He grabbed his sword from where he'd left it, unsheathed, and ran to Kana's room. He tried to open it, but the handle was locked. He rammed his shoulder into the door, and it flew open. Racing inside, he had his sword to the assassin's throat in seconds. "On your knees." He said, hoping he wouldn't have to fight. He was in only a loose pair of drawstring pants, and was shirtless. It was a warmer night. He now regretted that decision, as it left his entire upper body vulnerable.
(psst, really quick, may I hurt Kana? This may sound sadistic but I love to watch my characters suffer-)
(yess go ahead! Lol I'm the same way, so…feel free to hurt Jair, too XD)
(hell yeah, thank you :D)
The assassin smirked, even though the mask hid it. "Attacking me in pajamas, eh? How bold of you." She proceeded to do a maneuver to where she moved the sword away from her throat, only to get close and take the sword out of Jair's hands. "But also quite stupid," she giggled in a sadistic, sickening way. In a quick movement, she stabbed Jair in the stomach (I'll let you decide how bad the stab wound is uwu (and if you want more than one stab wound, then just add them lol)) and roughly pushed him to the ground. The assassin practically lept towards Kana and sliced her throat. The cut wasn't deep, but there was quite a bit of blood dripping down.
Kana gasped and tried to get up and help Jair, but to no avail. The assassin pushed her back down and beat her until she stopped moving. Kana thought it would be smart to play dead. She was correct. The assassin decided her job was done, and she vanished.
(lol np)
Jair groaned softly, curling his arms around the stab wound in his stomach. He sat up, blood dripping down between his arms. "Some… bodyguard I am." He forced out through gritted teeth. Forcing himself to his feet, he undid the bonds around Kana's hands and feet, keeping one arm tucked around his stomach. "You're not too…badly hurt?" He asked, forcing himself to keep his breathing even.
Kana groaned and tried to prop herself up. "I'll be fine," she looked at Jair's stab wound. "Oh no-"
She looked at Jair with teary, worried eyes. "Shi- we need to get you to the healer. Are you okay?!"
He gave a weak smile. "I'm…" He seemed to consider his words for a moment. "I'll live." He decided on, leaning against the wall. His breathing was slightly harsh. The wound had gone pretty deep, and he was worried. Though he wasn't about to tell Kana that. Better that she think he would be okay, instead of the fact that he knew he could die, especially if he got an infection of any sort. He kept his arms pressed to the wound to try and dampen the bleeding.
Kana knew that he was hurt, badly. Over time, she would always study his reactions to getting hurt. She knew that they both needed to hurry. She scolded him, "Now's not the time to lie to me, Jair. Come on," she grabbed his arm and staggered her way to the healer's room. Internally she was freaking out. Jair had been hurt severely, and she was starting to feel lightheaded from the loss of blood. Fortunately, the healer's room was close.
Jair let loose a ragged gasp as she pulled at his arm, and stumbled slightly as he followed her. He was still forcing himself to take deep, slow breaths to try to keep himself from going into shock. Once they arrived at the healer's, he pushed her inside first. "Treat her first." He ordered the healer.
The healer gave him a worried look, then nodded. "Come with me." She said to Kana, leading Kana over to the side. "Sit." She ordered, already starting to inspect Kana's wounds.
Jair leaned against the wall, sliding to the floor with a ragged gasp.
Kana grimaced. "Jair, you are in absolutely no condition to decide what's best. Your wound is worse than mine."
Glancing at the healer, she groaned, "I can treat myself. Please treat him first." There was a threatening tone in there, so the doctor quickly obeyed her. She was the queen after all. The doctor rushed to treat Jair, afraid to move him from where he was in case if it worsened his wound. Kana watched the doctor from where she sat, making sure he was doing his best.
Jair sagged against the wall, breathing ragged. Shock was beginning to set in, and his limbs were shaking. He closed his eyes, shifting his arms to let the doctor get to his injury. Blood was smeared across his torso, and was still flowing from the wound, running down his skin and staining his pants crimson. His arms fell limp to his sides.
"Mr Delos, I need you to focus on your breathing, and stay awake. If you pass out, I don't know if you'll wake up again." The doctor ordered.
Jair forced his eyes open, and did as the doctor ordered.
Kana started to cry. She hid it well, but she couldn't resist. Seeing Jair like this made a part of her just break internally. Small sobs could be heard, but only if someone was paying attention. She tried to occupy herself by figuring out how to treat her sliced throat.
The doctor kept working quickly. "Lucky for you, you have accelerated healing. That will serve you well." she said as she mopped up the blood, then got the equipment to sew the wound closed.
Jair gave a breathy chuckle. "Mmph. Still failed at…my job." he said slowly.
"Jair, for the love of-" Kana sighed shakily, trying to keep it together.
She focused her attention on the doctor. "Will he be alright?"
The doctor sighed. "Most likely, yes. With his accelerated healing, he should be okay, although he'll be in a lot of pain for the next few days."
Jair was quiet.
"Well, thank you," she smiled at the doctor, knowing full well she couldn't see her. Her tears started to slow down knowing he would be ok. Kana peeked over at Jair and but couldn't. Black spots started to appear wherever she looked. Suddenly realizing she was still bleeding, she frantically grabbed a rag and tried to stop the blood flow.
She didn't want either of them to worry, so she tried making more conversation. "Is there a way to make sure he's in less pain? Like, painkillers or something?"
The doctor nodded. "Yes, but I don't want to administer them yet. They have a tendency to make people sleepy." She replied.
Jair was quiet.
Kana closed her eyes. "Mm. Tha- that's smart." She was having a hard time keeping herself sitting up. Truth be told, she had no idea how to fix the gash on her neck. But Jair just got stabbed for goodness sake. I just need tough it out for a bit longer. "You doing good, Jair? You seem quiet…" she trailed off.
Jair blinked, glancing over at her. "I'm… fine." He replied. "You?" He took a deep breath, chest heaving.
The doctor kept working quietly, starting to stitch up the wound.
Kana was laying down on the chair (bed? floor? I really don't know-), still pressing the towel to her neck. It took a while to answer, but she eventually managed to groan, "I'm doing ok-"
The doctor finished stitching up the stab wound. "I'll have one of the healer's with magic look at it in the morning. I don't think there was any organ damage, but we can't be too careful." She wrapped a bandage around Jair's torso, then stood. She walked over to Kana. "May i treat you now, your highness?"
Jair closed his eyes tiredly.
She nodded slowly. Kana was trying to stay awake by focusing on Jair's breathing. It was weird, but it was the only thing she could do.
The doctor started working on Kana's throat injury. "Your highness, I would suggest both you and your guard lay low for the next few days. I would also suggest you get a second guard for a while, as Jair is in no condition to do his duty right now."
Jair shifted slightly, eyes closed.
