She glanced at the stack she set down earlier, then back at Jair. "They're heavy for me. But I don't think they'd be all that heavy to someone as strong as you,"

Deleted user

Is he… not gonna help me? I mean, fair. But kinda rude… She smiled awkwardly and started to grab the books one by one, forming another stack in her arms again.

Deleted user

Kana gestured to the rest of the books. She had quite the large stack in her hands early, but she didn't feel like asking him to carry some of the ones she had already picked up. He shouldn't even have to help you in the first place. This is your fault, Kana. He doesn't want to help you. She began walking to her room, her mind still swirling with insults towards herself

Kana's room was a mess, even though she loved to clean up. Cleaning up was a great stress relief, and yet, her room had broken glass, crumpled up papers, and even weapons just laying around. It was trashed, to say the least.
Kana let out a sigh when she saw her bed. Don't. Jair is here. Don't go there and mope for the rest of the week. Do you know how horrible that would look?! She set the books down on her table, gesturing for Jair to do the same. "Thanks for doing this…"

@ElderGod-Icefire

He set the books down, looking around the room with a slight frown. What's going on? Why is everything so… messy? Her room was always spotless; it was mine that was messy…

She noticed his frown and quickly tried to focus his attention on something else. Anything else. "Hey! Uh… I finally replaced that governor! Do you remember that?" Her words were very quick and her voice was a bit too high pitched. "That town is doing great now…" She gave him a fake smile.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded. "I remember." A slight smile flickered over his face, and he looked at her. What's going on with you? Why are you so…like this? He bit his lip slightly, eyes flickering to the window.

Deleted user

The window was slightly cracked, blood in the cracks. She stepped in front of his gaze and smiled. "The new governor is actually really nice, you know!" She reminds me of you. You two would be perfect together.

(what about a potential love interest for Jair to spice things up)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jair focused on her. "Oh?" He asked, blinking. Kana, what's wrong? Why…I don't understand.

(ooh yesss and I can amp up Aydan's interest in Kana, too, if you want)

Deleted user

"Yeah… Maybe you should meet her someday." Kana put on the fake smile again, trying not to panic. Did he see the window? I should've cleaned that… "You can join me when I go over there in a couple of days, if you want."

(oooo definitely)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jair shrugged. "I…if you want me to come, sure." He said quietly. I would rather that you just…be honest with me…tell me what's wrong so I can help.

Another adventure with him… It's been so long. "Pack your bags then," she smiled and nodded towards his room, trying to make him leave. She tried not to seem rude, but having someone in her room wasn't okay with her.

Deleted user

"Oh… Guess it'll be easy then, eh?" She joked, knowing full well that it wasn't funny. I'm the worst. I need to just stop talking altogether. She followed him out the room, closing and locking the door behind her.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He shrugged. "Yeah, I guess." He replied softly, looking down the hallway. I'm so tired…I jump at every little noise, my whole body hurts, and I…

Deleted user

She leaned over to see what Jair was looking at. "What a lovely hallway," she commented, her voice monotonous. Lovely… Such an annoying word. What even is lovely?

Deleted user

Kana looked down at his feet. "Got some nice feet there." After a moment, she sighed. I can't. Why is making conversation with him… no, with anyone so difficult? "Sorry, I just-" she let out another harsh, short laugh. "I guess I forgot how to talk to people."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He closed his eyes. "Well where do you want me to look, then?" He demanded. He shrugged. "I don't see how you could forget; you were around people for nine months, and I highly doubt any of them were actively beating the shit out of you daily. So."

Deleted user

Ouch. Kana sighed. Do you really think I actually talked to people? Do you really think I ever had the energy to try and even look at somebody? I didn't talk to anyone except occasionally Aydan for 2 months straight! She bit her tongue, suddenly pissed off. You may have gone through hell, but that doesn't mean I had a shitty time either!
"You're right. Forgive me." She spoke, trying not to let the anger behind her words show. Kana had lost her taste for arguing long ago. It was sickening to her now, and she wasn't about to argue with Jair of all people.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He shook his head slightly. "No, I'm sorry. I-I'm not…who I used to be. I'm sorry. I should probably just… leave you alone and go." He said, eyes still closed. God. I don't know what to do. What to say.

Deleted user

"Shut up." She groaned, a pang of guilt running over her. I can't believe I was mad at him. I just told him to shut up. Jeez, I should've just stopped myself. "Jair, you don't have to apologize to me for this kind of stuff." Kana wanted to place her hand on his shoulder, but thought better of it.
