(Thank-you <3 I can go ahead if you want! I looked back, and it is technically my turn still xDD Do we wanna do ta time skip to when we next meet, and work forward from there?)
(Yes please lmao. Sure!)
(Okkii, here we go! :D)
Baå stood miserably in the rain, waiting for the dang bus to show up. It'd been several days since his encounter with the angel, and the anger and sadness from the interaction had yet to leave him alone. His band had turned a faded silver-blue, as if it was mourning the loss of it's partner.
He took to wearing gloves now. It was better to not have to see it reminding him of what had happened.
The bus was still running late, according to the app on his phone a full three stops behind schedule. He sighed and slumped down onto the bench, tucking as far under the tiny amount of roof as he could.
"I hate rain," he said out loud to no one.
(Thanks! Also I gtg in about twenty minutes, just a heads-up)
Cael was heading for the bus stop. He just hoped he wasn't too late for it, otherwise he'd have to walk in this miserable, disgusting weather. Which he really, really didn't want to do. Although when he arrived at the stop and saw who else was already waiting…he started to seriously consider just turning and walking to work. He sat down as far away from the demon as he could, although that wasn't very far, considering how small the bus stop was.
(Hey, sorry, but I'm going afk until Saturday. I just have too much school and too much work rn, and the two are making it really had to get either done TwT So I'll be back then!)
(Oh oof, that sucks. It's fine! Good luck with that!)
(Thanks for understanding!! I'm finally free again xDD)
Baå closed his eyes and quietly groaned in misery as, lo and behold, his supposed soulmate sat down in the same area.
"Bus's three stops behind," he said abruptly. "So get cozy."
(Yeah no problem! Yay! XD)
He looked up, and nodded a little bit. "Alright." he replied. "…thanks." he wrapped his arms around himself, taking a deep breath and shaking his head just a little bit.
Baå fell silent again, hunching over and letting his hair fall over his face as best it could given it was stuck in soaking wet strands. He almost wanted to talk o the angel, see if maybe, they could have a second chance, but try as he might, he couldn't overcome the bitterness lodged in his heart over their first encounter.
Cael took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment. He didn't really know what to do or say. He didn't really want to talk to Baå, but…he felt like maybe he should? He didn't know. He sighed, running a hand through his golden hair.
"You still working at your place?" Baå finally said, forcing himself to break the silence. He didn't look over at the angel, but tried to keep his tone clear of any negative emotion.
"Yeah." Cael actually had two jobs; the day job, the one that paid better, and the other one, the one he had signed up for without knowing what he was getting into. Without knowing that he wasn't just going to be singing; he was also signing over his body.
Baå thought over his own situation, homeless, jobless, and running out of food and energy. He, unknowing of the way the angel's situation would soon be turning south, found himself jealous of the luck that favored Cael.
"Nice," he finally settled for saying, drawing his coat further around him, as if it would help.
Cael shrugged a little bit. "Not always." he replied quietly, thinking of the men that had already been allowed to take advantage of him, and knowing that there would be more that he wouldn't be able to say no to.
Baå half-turned to look at the angel.
"What do you mean?" he asked, his tone softening slightly.
He shook his head slightly. "Uhm. Nothing." he let out a breath, linking his fingers together and closing his eyes for just a moment.
"You're lying," Baå said flatly. "That's the nice thing about being a demon, I can see through that stuff. But suit yourself. If you don't wanna tell me, I ain't making you."
He internally crossed his fingers, hoping the angel would spill the beans. Now he was just curious.
He shook his head a little bit. "Yeah, I…might be lying, but…I'd rather not talk about it." he looked down at his hands, taking a deep breath. The demon was his soulmate. He didn't want to talk about how other men were allowed to lay claim to his body so long as they paid the right price.
"I…okay?" Baå said, suddenly worried, despite himself. "You sure?"
He started to say more, but the bus rounded the bend, headlights glaring. Baå stared at the angel instead, waiting for his reply.
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah." he replied softly, even though he…sort of wished that someone could help him out of this mess. He swallowed, letting out a slow, slightly shaky breath.
Baå stood as the bus pulled up, hesitating before tentatively offering his hand to help Cael up.
Cael hesitated for a moment before accepting Baå's hand. He let go once he was standing, sighing softly. "Thanks."
(I gtg now. Good night!)
