Angels and Demons are kept apart for a reason. They are as different as different can be. Light to Shadow. Yin and yang. Rules and emotion.

Heaven, the domain of the Angels, is ruled by strict laws. Jobs before playtime, community before self.

Hell, the domain of the Demons, is the opposite. Rules don't exist. Everyone is governed by their emotions, what they feel like doing.

Both are good and bad, right and wrong. They have been locked in a battle for centuries. Eons. Since time began, maybe even before.

If you are kicked out of one, for whatever reason, you are sent to Earth, the land of humans, to live until the king of your realm deems it right for you to return. Earth is seen as sort of an in-between place, where Angels go to be corrupted and Demons go to be purified.

But the king, a man(?) spoken of only in myth and legend, has come forth. He is the father of the kings of Heaven and Hell, and he is tired of this conflict. He has created bonds between the Angels and the Demons.

Soulmates.

It has thrown the two realms into utter chaos. No more fighting, but confusion and anger instead, as Angels and Demons are drawn to each other, and slowly begin to try to recover from the battles, put aside anger and hatred, and learn to love.

Age (appears and actual): Appears to be somewhere between 18 and 22. Actual age is roughly 100 ish
Species: Angel
Looks: Cael is about 5'5", and very slender. He appears almost feminine sometimes, body shape wise, though he is solidly male. He has light, golden hair, that reaches to about his chin in length, and fair skin with a light scattering of freckles. His eyes are a tawny golden color, and almost seem to glow. He has a beautiful, bewitching smile, when he chooses to show it. His wings are pure white, at the bottom they turn just a little tiny shade darker. They are crippled, though, and he cannot fly very far or very fast. When he chooses to hide them, like any Angel on Earth can, they turn into tattoos that take up his whole back. He has scars scattered across his body, but no tattoos other than what his wings become.

Age (appears and actual): appears to be 25, is actually 120ish
Species: Demon
Looks: Baå is tall and well-muscled, though not in a bulky way. He's got long blue-black hair that's loosely curled, pale skin, and silvery-white eyes. He's got inky black freckles across his shoulders and back, but they're usually not visible under his cloths. They're scars from old injuries in Hell. His wings are blue-back, although batches feathers have been bleached white, and some have white speckles from whatever event caused the bleach. The feathers are ragged and unkempt; his wings are overall in very poor shape, but he can fly.
Other: He has a bit of a temper, and sometimes loses control over his form and will start to look more demonic, more eyes, horns, sharp teeth and claws, all depending on how angry he gets. Normally he can keep it under control though.

Ooh I like him! So Cael has been banished to Earth, so I was thinking this could start there?

No prob, that's perfect for me, actually xDD I might be a little slow to reply tomorrow bc I'm really busy that day, but I'll try to be on in the evening ^^

(Turned out I had a bit of time so here we go)

Cael was standing in the park, just breathing and enjoying himself. He had been on Earth, among humans, for nearly two months now. He had a job, an apartment…he wasn't doing too badly. But he missed Heaven. He knew, too, that thing King had come forth and issued his decree. Had turned Angels and Demons into Soulmates. Frankly, he didn't think he had one. He had been exiled, of course he wouldn't have one.

Baå froze as he saw an angel ahead of him. He backed away slowly, heart pounding. He didn't want to be noticed; he'd been trying to get away from Hell and Heaven and all the insanity they brought with them. Hell might be advertised as a place full of whatever-you-want fun, but he hated the chaos and brutal mindset there. He'd been attacked for 'fun,' and he'd had enough. Earth seemed the only safe place, so there he'd fled.
Only to find an angel, almost first thing. He supposed this decree would have upset everything for both worlds, maybe that was why angels were on earth.

(so I actually have no idea what sort of Soulmates they would be…would it be some sort of physical thing? Chest glow, black mark? Or more like a feeling?)

Cael took a deep breath, and stretched his arms up towards the sky, face tipped back to the sun. A faint smile flickered across the small male's face, and he let out the breath in a sigh, turning his attention back to the path ahead of him. Pulling a cell phone from his pocket, he checked the time. I should head back. He realized, and turned to leave the park. He glanced up, and froze when he spotted the figure on the path. A demon? Here?

(Physical thing sounds good! Maybe like a black band or ring that turns colors or something? That's always been one of my favorites :)

Shoot, he saw me, Baå thought, hastily backing away.

(Sorry it's so short, I don't want to make too much happen until we have a plan xD)

Cael narrowed his eyes a little, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he watched the Demon. He wasn't sure what to do. Technically, as an exile, he didn't have to do anything. But still.

Baå hesitated before he fled outright however. The angel hadn't attacked him outright, and something made him wait, torn between a want to run and a foreign curiosity. He'd never actually met an angel before. Sure, on the battlefield he'd slain plenty, but…talking to one? Not fighting? This could be new.

(alrighty XD. Np! So would they only light up when they touch, or just from being near each other?)

They weren't at war anymore, either, so he didn't know what he could do about this. What he could do about this…demon. He frowned a little, taking a step closer as he thought over what to do or say to deal with this.

(Touch maybe? ^^ Although just getting near would be easier lol xD)

Baå flinched back slightly, but curiosity kept him there, watching the angel apprehensively. He debated whether or not to call out. It might be wisest to establish that he was no threat now, rather than have to risk a fight. But caution made him bite his tongue. He settled for a tiny wave, figuring that the angel would either see it and reciprocate or not see it and he could just leave or something. Win-win.

(Honestly…lol. I have no preference…maybe it's a very faint glow when they're close, that gets stronger when they touch?)

Cael blinked at the wave, and cautiously returned it. He cocked his head for a moment, watching the demon across from him. He wasn't quite sure what to do. He really wasn't sure. The war was over, so what was there to do? He had no desire to speak with a demon, not after all that had been to him and his family by the demons. He wasn't sure he could carry on a conversation without losing his mind.

(Sure, that's perfect! ^^)

Baå finally steeled his nerve and took a testing step forward, trying to look friendly.
How friendly can you look, you're a demon, he thought glumly, but didn't let that thought make him waver. He stopped after just one step, closely watching for the angel's reaction. If this situation showed even a hint of turning ugly, he was ready to bolt.

(Alright!)

Cael's shoulders stiffened just a little, and he looked up at the demon without a hint of fear in his golden eyes. He swallowed, and shifted. He glanced at his hands, eyes narrowing a little. Was his band…glowing? Just a little? No, not possible. His eyes were playing tricks on him, that was all.

Baå took a deep breath, mentally steeled himself, and then spoke.
"Hi?" he asked, cursing himself at how uncertain he sounded. He'd wanted to sound strong, and impressive, maybe a little regal, and…
Okay, well, that definitely wasn't going to happen now. He shrugged it off as best he could and tried to salvage his confidence.
"Hi," he repeated, more firmly.

Cael let out a quick sigh. "Hello." He greeted, examining this demon that had appeared. He wondered how, in the entire Earth, had this demon managed to appear before him. He wasn't quite sure what to do. He really, really wasn't, and that frustrated him.
