Baå glanced down a little anxiously, and his gaze landed on his band. He stiffened and blinked, realizing it was glowing slightly. Could it be? He blinked again, and it seemed to be gone, but he wasn't sure. He looked back up at the angel in shock before re-composing his face.
"What…brings you here?" he asked in a perhaps lame attempt at being professional.
"Exile." Cael replied blankly. He blinked. "Er…to Earth, exile. To this park…" He shrugged. "I was just bored." He took a cautious step closer to the Demon. "I'm uhm…I'm Cael, by the way." He gave a quick, fleeting little smile.
"Oh," Baå said, frowning. He had met exiled demons, but he'd thought angels were all to perfect to ever deserve exile. Guess I'm just wrong, then, he thought to himself.
"I'm Baå," he said, offering an equally unsure mile in return. "Nice to meet you…?"
(who should figure it out first?)
Cael shrugged a little. "Yeah. Nice to meet you too, I guess." He replied with a faint laugh, running a hand through his golden hair. He glanced at the band on his finger again, a faint frown drawing his eyebrows together.
(Who would be more likely to hate the idea? xD I feel like they should be first, so they can't argue with it lol)
(Btw, I'm trying to figure out a schedule so I'm replying to my rps at least once every other day, Christmas has me tangled rn sadly. But hopefully I'll get it together soon xD)
Baå folded his arms uncomfortably. He look a hesitant step back.
"So…I guess I'll be going? I, uh…don't want to be in your way."
He was forced to take several quick steps forwards, however, as biker raced past him, forcing him to dive off the path around the bush he'd been next to. He caught himself on a handy branch, and frowned at his band as it almost undeniably glowed.
(Uhm…I honestly don't know lol. Maybe Cael would be?)
(Alright. It's totally fine, don't worry too much lol)
Cael stepped forward. "You alright?" he frowned again when he noticed that his band seemed to be…glowing? Was it glowing? It couldn't possibly be…right? He was an exile, he couldn't possibly have a soulmate. He shook his head. His eyes must be playing tricks; he was tired, after all.
(tbh, they might both be lol Maybe they can realize at the same time, and something could happen to give them no choice but to stick together?)
(Schedule figured out, btw! I took a long break to take care of personal stuff, and I did an p purge, so hopefully I'm back now!)
"Yeah," Baå said with forced lightness. Now he felt he couldn't leave. He knew the angel had noticed something odd too, and he couldn't walk away without figuring out if his mind was just playing tricks on him…
Or if he was actually going through the one thing he really, really wouldn't have wanted to go through. He tried to catch a glance of the angel's blan, but he couldn't quite tell anything from it.
(lmao alright! Sounds good)
(Alright!)
Cael nodded, trying to be kind and…gentle. To a demon. Damn, this wasn't how he had envisioned his day going. He twitched a little, wishing he could leave, but…he looked at his band again, chewing on his lip. He didn't know what to do.
(Okay!! :D)
Baå ventured a cautious step forward, trying to pass it off as disentangling himself from the bush he'd almost fallen into.
Just…do something, he told himself in frustration. You're supposed to be a demon, stop being such a coward about it.
He took a deep breath and met the angel's gaze, his resolve quickly withering as he stared into the golden eyes.
They were beautiful eyes, he found. The way they glowed entranced him, making him forget for a moment what was going on. He hardly realized he was slowly walking forward.
As the demon came closer, Cael stepped back just a little bit. He raised his hands. "Uhm, that's…that's close enough…" He trailed off, noticing. The band on his finger was… glowing. There could be no mistaking it now, a bright nimbus of glowing colors coming from the band around his finger.
(Okay!! :D)
Baå's gaze followed the angel's gaze, trailing to a halt. His eyes widened in shock, and he whipped his hand up to stare in wonder at his own band, glowing as it was with silver and blue light.
"I…I," he stammered. "What…?"
Cael's eyes narrowed. "No. You can't…we can't be." He said slowly, eyes flashing from Baå, and back. "You can't be." He didn't want to believe it. Soulmates, with a demon? Never. Never.
Baå took a stumbling step backwards, covering his band as if hiding it from sight would change the situation. He tried to talk, but the words stuck in his throat. He looked back up at Cael, confusion written across his face.
"So…You're…" he couldn't make himself finish the sentence. "You're my…."
Cael stared at Baå uncertainly, a strange group of emotions flashing across the angel's face. Confusion, anger, hatred, all at once. It was quite obvious that he harbored no love for Demons, of any sort. "No." he snarled. "I won't be. I can't be."
(Just wanna shout out how much fun I'm having in this xD I'm loving where it's going!!)
Baå found himself glaring resentfully at the angel. All his life he'd been unwanted, he supposed it was some sort of cosmic joke that the person who was supposed to want him didn't either.
"You may not get a choice," he said bitterly. "It's fate, now, innit? Nothing we can do about it. You might be stuck with me, Wings."
(same! XD)
Cael clenched his jaw. "No." He retorted, crossing his arms angrily. "And don't fucking call me wings." He didn't want to be reminded that his own wings were crippled and damaged, that he could hardly fly.
(Yay!)
Baå snorted, glaring down at his back-stabbing band. "Fine, Angel-face," he said. "But what are you going to do about it, huh? You can't just…say no."
Cael rolled his eyes. "My name is Cael, not wings, not Angel-face." he replied, arms still crossed. "And watch me "just say no", demon." his eyes flickered with anger.
"Fine," Baå bit out, adopting Cael's standoffish stance and folding his own arms. "But my name's Baå, not demon. That's just plain rude. So yeah. I'm watching. What are you gonna do about it then?"
Cael grimaced a little bit. "Absolutely nothing." he replied, shaking his head at the other male. He pressed his lips into a thin line.
(Sorry for the sbcence, my work needed me over the entire weekend + Fri and Mondays TwT)
Baå laughed shortly. "Okay," he said. "Same here I guess. We can just spend the next eternity staring angrily into each other's eyes then."
(it's fine! oof that sucks, man)
Cael snorted. "Nope. I've got a job that I've gotta get ready for." he glanced at the exit to the park. "So you can stand here glaring, but I have to leave in ten minutes."
(Ty! <3 Yeah, it was awful xD)
Baå let some of the hostility fade from his face. "What job?" he asked, a little warily. "Off doing your angelic duties? Lot's of good deeds?"
(np! I bet)
Cael shook his head. "No. My mortal job." He checked his phone. "I told you earlier. I got sent here as punishment, not to do anything angelic." He snorted softly.
"Oh." Baå blinked. "So…you have like…a human job?" The option hadn't occurred to him before, and he felt a little stupid.
