"More useful than I'm being right now at least." Tempest joked a bit as he stood back to his feet to pick some more cherries
Yumi blushed from the sudden praise. She wasn’t used to complements at all. “Um.. thanks… I…”
Yumi gulped. “I’m not a fighter though… my mech does enough… but I’m helpless in a fight…”
Yumi glanced at the creek, she shivered a bit. “And I’m scared of a lot of things…”
Blake tapped the side of her visor, enabling the translation software she'd installed. "The… hunted? Is my translation software messed up?"
"We're all scared of things." Temp drew his sword again and leapt up, slicing a whole branch off that was full of cherries. He defiantly had used some magic to gain extra height in his jump. He shifted back into his blond thin teen boy form as he couldn't retain his canine like form with as little strength he had in his body at this point. "Oh dear I didn't mean to use another burst." He tried to pull off a easy going smile but sat down close to the two of them, holding the fruit filled branch out to them, his hand shaking quite a bit
'No you and seven others were pulled here as game in a large scale hunt' the green haired boy signed to Blake
"That explains the seven." Blake thought for a moment. "So, where are the others? And who's the one who pulled us here?"
'Very evil man. Has very twisted views. He's powerful in his type of magic that I'm sure you've seen by now.' Gio signed, blinking the sleep out of his eyes

Dare saw his shaking limbs as he held out the branch and internally rolled her eyes. “Alright. You, Tempest, are going to take a nap. Immediately,” she commanded. She gently rested a hand on his shoulder. “I don’t have time to be worried about you trying to be a martyr and passing out from exhaustion.”
'he is…are you aware that the thing with you was also created by him?' Gio signed with a nervous look to his icy blue eyes.
Slash grinned and flicked his switch blade open "Well isn't that-" He suddenly was blasted by some sort of blast, causing him to grunt out in pain and get launched deeper into the woods "No Slash You won't be getting one already, nor any if I can help it." It was a woman who stepped out from the deep brush. She appeared to a dragon human hybrid. She wore a halter top and black sweatpants under a grey robe. Her skin was part scales and part skin. Her eyes shone a dark grey. She put what could assumed to be a wand back into her robe's inside pocket
Tempest nodded to Dare and cleared a little section of snow the normal way and curled up, shifting into his other canine form so he wouldn't freeze. With that he promptly slipped into a deep sleep.
Yumi shivered a bit, she used her chest plate to build a wall around her.
“Um, I’m going to rest as well!” She yelled through the metal.
Yumi curled herself in the snow, using a lighter to melt some, and caught a card on fire. She grabbed some sticks and built it into a pile, then put the card on it. Yumi was used to fumes, it never bothered her.
Tempest still shivered in his sleep as the worries that he didn't speak out loud slipped into his dreams. Thoughts of not being enough to protect his little group was just one among the many. Zerack spoke into his mind You can't protect them from me…they are mine

Kade hadn't been worried about the blade, but he supposed that it was helpful that the woman-creature-thing had helped. He watched, standing casually in the background, hands in his pockets as if he didn't have a care in the world.
Yumi shook, she couldn’t fall asleep, she released her energy, making the wall turn back into a chest plate, which went right to her body. She looked over at the others, then went over to the cherries on the ground and started to eat them. The sour, somewhat tangy flavor crashed onto her tastebuds.
Dare sighed in relief as Tempest actually went to sleep. Having someone actually listen to her was… surprising to say the least. She tried to sleep too, but her brain kept racing back and forth over the limited information at her disposal. Dare wanted to know more about this Zerack fellow, but didn’t want to wake up poor Tempest. How could she find out more about their mysterious captor? She saw Yumi sit down and start eating some of the cherries, and Dare slowly sat down next to her. “I saw you have some books with you. Do you like to read?” she asked softly.
'He looks a little different too. Zerack's creature making process isn't perfect so it is possible for one to bond with a person if shown compassion.' Giovanni signed, standing to his feet 'Well I suppose I've had enough sleep.'
The woman looked to Kade, then to his hand. "so…you gonna just stand there? Slash isn't gonna be down for long and despite only having a switchblade you do not want to fight him."
And when I pick them off one at a time…it will be your fault…you're not the guardian of Haven here…they are at my mercy. There is no happy ending you compassionate foolish boy, for this is the real world. In the real world death always wins…and…I…am…Death Zerack drilled into the young boy's mind as he slept
"So… who exactly are you?" Blake fidgeted with the sleeve of her jacket.
'Giovanni Keller: Haven defense manager' he responded then started to gather his charms that had slipped off the chain around his neck.
"Interesting.. I'm Blake." Blake gestured to Shadow. "This is Shadow."
He reached a hand down for Shadow to sniff at, which he did. Shadow didn't bite Gio so that was good but was still pretty wary of the boy as Haven and Ferals didn't have the best relationship

“Oh yes, I love research. I’ve been learning a lot since I was around three, my parents pushed me into an early education. I’ve always loved books, thanks to books I get a grasp on technology faster, and it’s nice to learn different languages.” Yumi picked up a few books, each in a different language, one seemed to be in English, but it was somewhat chicken scratch. “I have a lot of them. Before my home blew up I had an entire library. I saved a few though.”
Yumi glanced down at a journal like book, looking at the title, ‘my inventions’. She starred at it for a good minute, then put it underneath the other books. “All of them are filled with facts as well. Most people find them boring.”
