Tempest dropped his head "That's my fault..sorry about that." he muttered
“I’m just afraid of water… I can’t swim at all… also it makes my mech malfunction.” Yumi sighed, she glanced down at the lake, shivering. Yumi has always been afraid of water. Ever since… THAT incident….
'We'll stop this okay? you will get back those children. You even got someone to show them.' he motioned to Shadow with a little smile
Blake grinned. "You're right. Do you know where any other people are?"
He pulled a charm from his chain and pressed it to his forehead gently. He nodded and opened his eyes, now a lime green
Blakes eyes widened in shock. "Wh- How did you- How'd you do that?!"
'charm crafting is a popular form of magic where I'm from' he slipped his coat back over his shoulders and replaced the charm back on the chain, his eyes returning back to their pale blue
"Neat. We don't really have magic. But there are some weird plants that give people powers. I ate one, and I have fire powers now."
Gio took another off the chain. It was attached to a thinner shorter chain. He spun it around a bit and the ember glow of flames erupted on the charm before he extinguished it on the snowy ground
"That's incredible!" Blake held out her hand, palm facing down. Suddenly, a column of fire erupted from her palm, blasting downward and melting a circle of snow.
Giovanni seemed to have let his guard down, his shoulders relaxing and a small smile spread across his face. 'that's pretty impressive yourself ' he signed before picking the charm back up and replacing it around the countless other charms around his neck
Ember nodded and thought for a bit then made a motion as if she was turning a school locker combination
(I…totally didn't hit writers' block…)
"Uh, what are you doing? I'm not necessarily following all of this." Erika looked at the female questioningly.
She sighed, "I can fight, but I prefer not to. What all can I do if I'm not magical, anyways?"
Ember grinned a bit and stuck her hand into something, her hand vanishing for a second before pulling out a long thing metal bat. She held it out to Erika and gave a smile "well…take it." And while she put on a confident face her eyes had a tired look in them now
“Wow, I’m sorry. I’ll try to make sure that doesn’t happen again, ok?” Dare was seriously freaked.
In a forest full of snow, she couldn’t afford one of her new teammates losing it around water, so she was going to have to be careful. “I’m going to scout the area around us and see if there’s anything useful. Or dangerous,” she said wryly. To be honest, she didn’t like being in an area she know nothing about and wanted to get a better feel for the terrain. “I’ll shout if I need anything.”
(Yo, would it be ok if Dare accidentally ran into one of Zerack’s lieutenants?)
Yumi shook herself, running up to her teammate. “Y-You can’t go alone… we need to stick together, so we can protect each other! I-I don’t want you all to leave…”
Yumi wrapped her arms around Dare’s arm, looking somewhat sad. “P-Please… let me go with you…”
Yumi was already attached to the two, she didn’t want them to get separated, or worse, one gets hurt. Although Yumi wasn’t a fighter, she was still somewhat strong, and acts as a tactician to some degree.
(it would be fine by me but Yumi is making it hard to split up ^^ heh)
Ember grinned a bit and stuck her hand into something, her hand vanishing for a second before pulling out a long thin metal bat. She held it out to Erika and gave a smile "well…take it." And while she put on a confident face, her eyes had a tired look in them now.
Erika's mouth was agape and she smiled, taking the bat and twirling it in her palm. "Nice. Thanks. Where do we start hitting things and running for our lives?"
"As soon as one of those ferals or Soldiers show up." Ember told Erika. They would hear rustling in the brush around them, causing Ember to sling a bow from her shoulder and notch an arrow, shooting to her feet
(May wait for Oliver after this.)
Erika gritted her teeth, clenching the bat like her life depended on it–because it did.
"So, are we being killed for sport, or is there a reasoning behind all of this?" Erika asked quietly through her teeth.
Dare laughed awkwardly, patting Yumi’s arm. “It’s ok, Yumi. I’ll only be gone for like five minutes, and it’ll be safer if I go alone. Less likely to let anyone know we’re here.” She really needed some time alone, honestly. Spending this much time with others was something she did rather rarely, and Dare wanted to recharge.
(Yumi is super clingy lol)
Yumi reluctantly let go of Dare’s arm. “But you could get hurt… it’s not safe… I-I don’t like when people go places alone…”
Yumi looked down at the ground, she got easily attached to others. It was a bane of hers, besides her cowardly attitude. “I’m sorry… be safe…”
Yumi walked back over to the lake, she looked somewhat upset from her encounter.
Tempest looked over and started over to Yumi after saying to Dare "Just be careful and check for the symbol on the back people's hands if you see anyone else." He looked a little worried but knew it was best not to be an ass because well…Dare seemed like an introvert and being around others would wear on her quickly, so he understood a moment of solitude was needed. After Dare had left Tempest pulled something else from his bag: A colorful 3x3 rubik's cube. He knelt by Yumi's side "You ever seen one of these. They're pretty old but I still love these little puzzles."
(gotta pick who Dare encounters post and I'll have figured it out by then)
(I’m just as clingy as Yumi lol, and I can’t wait to see who you pick!)
“Hey, Yumi, I’m sorry, I don’t want to freak you out,” Dare called after the retreating girl. She needed her allies to be at full mental capacity if she was going to get through this, but she really needed her alone time too. Dare nodded at Tempest to show her understanding and started walking past the lake, her sword tucked into her belt loop. She continued forward through the trees, her shoes crunching in the pristine snow as she counted her paces. “500, 501, 502…” she muttered softly.
As Tempest tired to comfort Yumi Dare would discover soon enough that she was not alone. She would hear footsteps that were just off from hers.
Dare heard strange footsteps echoing her own, and paused in her tracks. Maybe Yumi was following her to make sure she was ok? She slowly pulled out her sword in case it was a foe instead of a friend. “Hello?” she called, turning around in a circle to try and catch a glimpse of whatever was behind her.
"Are you all alone out here?" A voice said from the brush. Someone of something was getting closer but stopped after a while as if listening before continuing
