"Shadow it is, then." Blake laughed. "C'mon, let's go find other life."
"Shadow it is, then." Blake laughed. "C'mon, let's go find other life."
John's call was answered by a shrill voice "Polo!" there was a little giggle after that along with the ear-splitting sound of a knives being drawn across each other.
well, its nice to know that someone is here… He fell down, kneeling, because of the noise. He only covered his right ear, and when it stopped, his right ear was ringing. his left was not.
"Just making sure." Tempest smiled back, having to shift into his canine like form so he wouldn't freeze. In that form he grew a couple of inches, his muscle mass was lean unlike his almost scrawny frame he had while a normal human. "I guess we'll have to make some sort of tool to fish or use my sword or something." He chuckled a bit at the thought of that
As Blake was walking, she was examining the mark on her hand. "What is this? I've read about these marks, people used to call 'em Roman Numerals. This one's…. seven, I think. What's seven supposed to mean? Am I the seventh fighter in some arena?" Blake stopped. "If I am, there must be other people." Blake took a breath, then yelled with all her might, "Hello? Anyone out there?"
John faintly heard a shout behind him. that must be… about 3 miles away. John stood up. Oh, Why not. John started running a small trail off towards what he heard. As long as he doesn't move, i should be there in 20 minutes
John heard another little giggle and unpleasant sound of scraping knives across each other "You seem lost…prey." the voice called out, almost busting out laughing, as if they found this funny. They didn't seem to have any trouble keeping up with John and remaining just out of sight
Shadow looked up at Blake, little bits of shredded pinecone falling from his muzzle. He wondered why she was yelling. did she feel unsafe? His pure white eyes darted around the forest, he didn't seem to be made of any of that gunk when he wasn't threatened but instead had ink black fur. The fur itself was still not very warm to the touch yet.
"If someone heard me, they'll probably just come to me. I guess I'll just stay here." Blake opened her palm, somehow igniting a small fire in her hand. She melted a small circle of snow around her, and sat on the dry ground.
Shadow decided to lie down too, resting his front paws in her lap along with his head.
John stopped. prey…so i AM in some crazy killer's game John drew his sword, listening for any movement through the bushes, trees, and leaves. He heard a rusle of leaves above him. "no…" he jumped forward quickly, and looked back to see, something
Blake stroked Shadow's head, glancing around the trees.
That something John had seen was a person who was made of the at this point familiar black bile substance. The voice was definitely male. His skin tone was a dark grey, unlike the ferals his eyes were black with white pupils that were tiny pinpricks. He wore a ragged medieval jester outfit that was stained with old crimson stains. He held leaf shaped knives in each hand and seemed to have missed a surprise attack for just a moment he looked annoyed. Just as quickly the smile returned.
Shadow's head picked up for a second as he smelled one of Zerack's men but he wasn't that close to them so they were safe for now, so he just nuzzled Blake's hand gently
"You smell somethin', Shadow?" Blake looked around the trees, but saw nothing, so went back to petting Shadow.
Shadow let out a happy little whine. He leaned his muzzle up and licked Blake's nose, his tail wagging happily at what he considered to be his new master. Yes he liked the woman with a fake leg. She was good to him and that's all that mattered to him.
Blake laughed. "I think people used to call creatures like you pets. I've decided I like pets."
Dare shrank back slightly at Tempest’s transformation, unnerved by the sight of a human voice coming out of a wolf’s muzzle. “Haha, yeah. A tool or something,” she echoed nervously. “Hey, is there anything else in these woods to be worried about? Or anyone?”
"Yes indeed you are. I don't believe we're in any danger right now. Zerack will be getting used to the hunting grounds before he himself goes after any of us." Ember tried to assure them.
"Zerack? Hunted? And what did you do with your hand? Where am I?" Erika was panicking, biting the interior of her cheek, trying to think clearly.
He held leaf shaped knives in each hand and seemed to have missed a surprise attack for just a moment he looked annoyed. Just as quickly the smile returned.
well great. first a cage, now a COLWN? WHYYYY!!!
John held his sword out defensively, waiting for an attack.
He'll be much harder to kill than the wolf from earlier. this should be no problem, but those knives certainly will be
Tempest's ears flattened against his head as he picked up Dare's nerves. "Sorry it's umm just…kinda cold out here." He pulled down at his shirt as they continued the path that Tempest thought he heard running water
Shadow knew that night would fall soon so he stood and tugged on the hem of Blake's shirt, knowing that that they couldn't sit around too long or…the fur on the back of Shadows' neck stood up as he heard the crunch of snow.
At Ember's makeshift camp she answered all the questions asked. in order:
"A part demon. He and his men are going to hunt us and…the flame was magic." She then started to peel an apple with a hunting knife as she sat by the fire she had started
The shadow man that was in front of John faked a rush forward and laughed once more before throwing the two knives at John at breakneck speeds, both aimed at his midsection.
(thats where my sword is)
the knives hit the sword, and John knew that if he didn't let go, it would break his sword. the sword flew out of his hands. im not going to survive, am i?
(i gotta go, ill be back tomorrow)
(I know that's where it was and see ya later then)
"Oh pity pity your big knife doesn't do any good on the ground." he had to stifle a giggle as another knife slid from his sleeve and into his hand "That's why I carry spares."
Blake stood up at the sound, staring in the direction it had come from. Her voice was a shaky whisper. "Shadow, let's go." Blake started to run in he opposite direction of the sound, her light footfalls making little noise.
A thin jagged arrow grazed Shadow, which caused him to yelp and dash to catch up to Blake, though was ready to fight whatever was back there if it came down to that.
