(Aha, I’m still here, wish I could sleep tho)
(College is so weird. Like you get all this free time, so you have to decide how to use it wisely. I just found I sleep way too much. Like I don’t even go out and party instead of studying. I sleep.)
(Sleeping is good, I love it even though I’m awake until 3 am some nights)
(Anyone on?)
(I'm on now.)
(I’ll have to go to bed soon, but I’m here for now.)
Valkyrie had come back to the village on Valhalla, a little frightened but otherwise alright. She went to her house and began working on Mara’s armor.
After hours of going through books, Mara figured she found all the hand written ones. "Riven, let's go!" She heard back to her place and put the bag of books in her room for safe keeping. "I can't wait to go through these and read them all." She would have to go tell the others she got them all first. What with you and knowledge? Riven found it weird that someone was wanted to knowing everything, but he just figured Mara was a weird girl.
Aurelius in the meantime tried to spread word to little avail, then had gone on patrol, and after a few hours, he came back to the village with nothing to report. He was tired and feeling almost paranoid, but he knew he wasn’t the only one who knew bad things were coming.
(god damn it, sorry i haven't been on school and home have been killing me.)
(I understand. You definitely need to take care of real life stuff first.)
Eventually, Aurelius ran back into Mara. "You got what we needed?" he asked anxiously. He crossed his arms a little. "People are having a very hard time believing something's going to happen. Maybe it's because I, of all people, have been spreading the word, but… I'm not sure. After all, the signs are undeniable."
Farron walked over to Aurelius and Mara, arms crossed, “Do you guys have any luck your end because I certainly didn’t.” He grumbled.
"Nope. People are in denial, and I don't have the reports from the borders to back it up. There's nothing there," Aurelius muttered. He was quite irritated.
"I did!" She waved her hand for them to come inside her house. "I have a whole bag full of books." She closed the door behind them and walked into her room and brought the bag out for them to take a look at.
“Of course there isn’t, because that’s just how our luck has to go, doesn’t it.” Farron grumbled, rubbing at his face.
"Awesome, Mara. At this rate, it looks like we'll have to leave for sure," Aurelius said, "As soon as Val finishes your armor and weapon, we should get out."
"I know, I'm pretty amazing." She winked at the boys then laughed. She sat on her couch and went through the bag of books. "I even found some that were pretty well hidden about each elder, cool right?"
"Yes. They may be old and crazy, but most of them have accomplished a lot in their lifetimes. Many of them used to be great warriors and scholars," Aurelius explained, "Back in their day, they were widely loved and respected, even as normal citizens."
Valkyrie momentarily stopped her work when she saw Mara, Aurelius, and Farron go into Mara's house across the row. She went over to join them and assess the situation.
"Hey. I patrolled for a bit. There was nothing out of the ordinary. We still leaving?"
"Yeah," Aurelius replied, "When will you have that armor done?"
"About two days from now. We should probably leave the dawn after so she has her armor, but we get to rest."
“Not to be pushy but can you get it done any quicker?” Farron asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I have other orders too, you know," Valkyrie spat, "I'm trying to make hers priority, but I also have to make a living. Besides, quality armor takes time to make. Plus, if she wants me to make her a weapon, that could add more time to it. And she needs a weapon."
"Mara could always buy a weapon," Aurelius suggested, "People sell them pre-made. No need for a custom job."
"It's up to her, really."
Mara had thought they had enough time, so she wasn't to worried about it. Riven was sleeping outside in the small garden area already, he was tired from waking up from that dream. "How long do you think we have?" Who ever was after her, she didn't want to meet.
Aurelius felt a chill go down his spine. "Less than a week almost for sure. But three days should be alright, hopefully."
Valkyrie waved her hand. "It'll be okay. As long as we're prepared and don't stall beyond that."
"I wish this wasn't going to happen, I've never once seen a dead body in my life. I might just throw up." Mara warned them. She looked through more books, just casually reading them, soaking in as much as she could.
"It hurts a bit at first," Aurelius admitted, "but when you're under attack, you can usually brush it aside enough to get yourself out of there and freak out later. We'll make sure that if anything happens, that someone is with you."
