"Thank goodness, because I also might pass out. Who knows what will happen." Mara seemed pretty calm right at this moment not to worried. "Anyway, Riven will be there for me if something happens."
"Thank goodness, because I also might pass out. Who knows what will happen." Mara seemed pretty calm right at this moment not to worried. "Anyway, Riven will be there for me if something happens."
"That's right. Dragons are highly intelligent. More so than humans. And Riven is a very caring type, too, so I'm sure he'll keep you from harm."
Valkyrie changed the subject. "What kind of weapon were you looking at?"
"I'll take her shopping for one. You worry about the armor," Aurelius insisted.
"Were going to go shopping?" She closed the book she was reading and stood. "When?" It would be a good time to look around town as well. See if everyone is acting weird and may no something, for all she knew someone could be working with the attackers.
"Whenever you're ready. I'm not busy," Aurelius said, "You do need a weapon, don't you? And I can start collecting provisions while we're out."
“I’ll come too,” Farron said, crossing his arms, “I’ve got nothing better to do.”
Mara grabbed her bag with her journal in it and walked to the door. "Let's go now." She held the door open for him with a smile on her face. "What kind of weapon would fit me?"
"Hard to say. We can test out weapons. It'll make things easier because they're pre-made. You probably would like something light, like maybe a lance or some sort of sword," Aurelius suggested. He started towards the door.
"Guess I'll get back to work," Valkyrie said, leaving ahead of everyone else and returning to her house.
“Maybe daggers?” Farron suggested, “I think you might fit daggers, Mara but,” He shrugged, “Who knows.”
"Maybe some duel daggers." She made slicing sounds as she swung her arms around pretending to hold some daggers. Mara knew she probably looked ridiculous. "I can have anything to heavy, because you know, I'm small."
"It's always nice to have one if you're caught on foot, but on dragonback, you have to have that reach. I mean, you see Val walking around with that giant halberd strapped across her back. It's honestly a great weapon, but you've got to be strong to wield it," Aurelius explained. He pulled out his sword. "I stick to this. Want to hold it for a second, see how it feels?"
Mara looked at the him then the sword. Hesitantly she took it in her hands, it was a lot lighter than she thought it was going to be. "It's really light." She held it in the air with one hand. "I like this."
"It's a bastard sword," he replied, "It has a long hilt if you like two-handed use and more power behind swings, but it's light enough that one-handed use is easy. I dabbled in shortswords for a while, but I find that slashing is much easier than stabbing when you're on a dragon, and you can do it without having to go with a zweihander or greatsword. Of course, I'm sure we'll find a lot of variations, and you can find whatever suits you."
"Wow, you know so much about swords." She wanted to know more now. "Think you could teach me more about them?" Looking around, the streets were lively and many people were smiling, Mara loved it. Although now she knows something was coming, she just couldn't look at it the same way.
"Maybe. Most of what I know is from a little bit of reading and a lot of trying out new weapons because I've got the arms of a child and I'm very… picky on what I use for combat," Aurelius admitted with a laugh. For just a split second, he could somewhat ignore the impending doom of the village because this was actually kind of fun for him. It had been some time since he was able to teach a newcomer about the village.
(Ahhh geez it's 3:30 am here. I'll talk to you guys later.)
(Night.)
(Hey)
(Hi.)
(Did you want to get back to the RP?)
Many stands were out that were selling food and jewelry. "How pretty." She picked up a necklace that had pearls all around and had a white feather that glittered in the sun. "Sorry, got distracted."
Aurelius had been at one of the stands buying food while Mara observed the jewelry. He glanced over. "The place we're going to get your weapon is at the end of the row. Just follow me."
She laid down the necklace and followed behind Aurelius. "I can't wait to have a weapon of my own." She wanted something that was going to be easy to use.
"It's fun, but honestly, it's better if you don't have to use it- besides training, anyway," Aurelius said. He walked up to the woman running the weapons stand and introduced Mara.
Mara walked through the shop and looked at many things, nothing really caught her eye, till she saw a door at the back of the shop. "Where does this door go?" It was a dark wood with a lock, which could only mean something was in here that they didn't want people to know about.
"I store more weapons through there. Mostly unfinished models and prototypes that aren't ready to be used yet," the saleswoman explained, "I like to experiment with new things, so I keep them under lock and key lest someone try to steal my ideas."
"You do have brilliant weapons. Would be a shame if someone took your ideas before you could perfect them," Aurelius muttered, mostly to himself.
