Farron?
Farron cracked an eye open and looked up at his dragon, “Yeah, What’s wrong?”
Do you ever think we’ll leave this village? Go off on our own? Maybe travel North…
Farron gave his dragon a small smile, “Maybe, who knows, why do you ask? Is that what you want to do?”
Ysethen huffed and looked Northward, Possibly, I just thought that… wothhs always being more reserved and all, maybe going off by ourselves would be better then staying.
“Well, we’ll discuss it some other time when I’m not so tired.” Ysethen nodded his big head and grunted in agreement.
Valkyrie stiffened a little bit at the physical contact, but she tried to smile anyway. "You're welcome. Rest well."
She placed her measurements somewhere she would remember, then changed and climbed into bed.
Valkyrie, do you still not feel at home? Valhalla grumbled, Not after all you've done here?
"How could I? I'm only here to feed my family. After all, this place owes us for lending a hand to pulling my family apart."
Do you still not trust poor, old me?
"I… I'm not sure."
Smart girl. Now, did I ever tell you that there is a faction of humans allied with dragons to destroy dragons? That is what you want, isn't it?
"Wait… why would dragons agree?"
The dragons involved wish to avoid all human contact in the future. They believe only the strong dragons should survive at the hands of hunters- but that's because they won't even be seeing hunters in the first place.
"Valhalla, I know what you're suggesting, but I can't… I can't do my family like that."
What about Siegfried?
"I hate that you're right… It's the right thing to do, isn't it? We shouldn't encourage dragons to get close to humans. They're not compatible with each other at all. In fact, if they get close to civilization, it should be seen as a threat."
Mhm. Well, if you want to know more…
"I'd be interested to hear it."
(Did y'all want to time skip to morning? At this point, dragons will have started receiving ominous omens.)
Aurelius woke up to a heavy weight on his chest. Nox had her head laid on him.
Auri… Auri please… she whimpered.
"Nox, what's the matter?"
She clumsily threw her head to the side, knocking Aurelius into the wall. Everything… burning… a-and the screams…
Aurelius held her tight. "Love, it's okay. It was just a dream, right?"
It's never just a dream with us dragons.
"I-I know. I had just hoped…"
I'm scared… Everything was destroyed. There was blood everywhere, dead dragons…
"Alright. Let's go talk to someone about it then."
You don't mean the council?
"I'm not sure. Let's just… let's just go for now."
Aurelius led the way outside, and there was a strange feeling in the air already.
(Can Zander, be one of the people to attack the town? I feel this would be a good moment to bring him in.)
“Aurelius!” Farron sprinted up to him, his breathing heavy and concern clouded his face.
(Can Zander, be one of the people to attack the town? I feel this would be a good moment to bring him in.)
(Yes, but the attack doesn't happen until later in the week, after the elders choose to ignore signs. Maybe Zander and Valkyrie meet, and that's part of how she's finally swayed?)
"What's wrong?" Aurelius asked Farron, keeping a hand on Nox to reassure her.
(Sounds good.)
Riven awoke with a jump and knocked Mara out of bed. Get up! Mara immediately jumped on Riven, even though she was still tired, but if something was wrong she wasn't going to take her time to get out of there. As soon as they stepped out of the house they saw Aurelius, Nox and Farron. "Riven there's nothing happening." The twin was quiet and It was still a bit dark out but the sun peaked over the mountains.
(I have to go. Goodnight!)
"What's wrong?" Aurelius asked Farron, keeping a hand on Nox to reassure her.
”It’s… It’s Ysethen. He woke up from… a dream but dragons don’t get dreams so it must have been a vision and he’s really restless and scared and I don’t know what to do.” Farron was nervous himself, which was knew to him. He ran a shaky hand through his hair.
"Farron?" Mara hadn't seen him like this. "What's going on?" She slipped off Riven. "Riven woke me up all freaked out." She knew something was wrong. Something is coming.
“I’m not sure what going on. Ysethen is… he had some sort of vision about the Elders but…” He sighed and rubbed his face, trying to calm himself.
"Ysethen too? Nox had a vision. She wouldn't put it into coherent words, but from what I understand, there was destruction as far as the eye can see, and people and dragons were dying," Aurelius explained.
Quincy was trying to calm Jade down after she had woken up thrashing. The dragon wouldn't calm down until Quincy had packed all of her belongings into bags that could easily be transported around. With a long sigh the pair left the house, all there belongings on them, "Was this really necessary?"
Yes.
(Can cerulean be teamed with Valkyrie?)
First was growling and whimpering in her sleep. “Frost?” Lucky asked tentatively. Frost growled and blew a puff of cold air in her direction
“What’s going with them?” Farron asked
"Well, dragons have an aptitude for predicting the future. These visions are likely glimpses of the things to come. How soon, we can't be sure," Aurelius said, "Dragons can also see the ancient past, but for so many to see it at once, it must be something in the nearer future."
Farron nodded, “Alright… so that means that something terrible is going to happen to the village then, right? If all out dragons are seeing visions of the future then… then it must be close.”
"That's my guess," Aurelius confirmed, "Seems like the only logical explanation. So I think we need to prepare and warn people. Anyone who will listen."
