“Depends whether you want to follow the rules or not,” Aurelius replied, “We should wait a little to make sure we’ve gathered all the information we can, but otherwise, we’re talking about the demise of a species and need to get on it.”
"I'll help in any way that I can. You just have to tell me what to do." She started scribbling down everything she could, many wouldn't be able to read it, but she could and for now that's what's important. "I need a journal, do you have a journal?" Keeping all these papers with her all the time would be hard.
Aurelius slung his backpack into the table and pulled out some parchment, ink, and a quill.
“Will this do?”
"Y-Yeah." She held out her left hand and still writting with her right. She didn't stop for a minute until she was satisfied with what she had, it was almost as if her surroundings blurred together and it was just her and the books.
Aurelius in the meantime went to gather some books on the region that Riven was likely from. He set them all on the table for the others to help him read.
“Auri, I can’t read these things. Get any picture books?” Valkyrie joked.
“Val, there might be a couple of illustrated journals, but you don’t have to help if you don’t think you can.”
She sat back and messed with her hairbow. “It’s probably best I don’t. I don’t want to skip anything important on the basis of not understanding it.”
(Idek what to do)
(I guess they’re all reading books?)
(Well they were reading books on drakes, but now Aurelius has pulled down books on the region that he believes Riven is from so that they can see what they would need to do and where they would need to go in order to make a journey there)
(Ok lol)
Lucky grabbed a book from the pile and started reading. Frost was laying on the floor and she decided to lay against her.
Aurelius flipped through one of the books. "Anything about other Dragoncaller settlements would be helpful. We're looking in the province of Eisheim mostly. That's where we believe Riven's species is from. I figure we should first consult people in the area who are knowledgeable about drakes."
"Done!" Mara let out a breath. She wrote everything she thought would be important in the journal and slid it in her bag. "Wow, that was a lot to take in." She laughed. Did you get everything you wanted? Mara nodded. Shenwas surprised at how fast she went through those books a d wrote everything down.
Aurelius smiled a little. He was pleased that Mara was finding everything was working out- at least, as much as it could in this kind of situation. He took note of a few things in his book and drew out a quick sketch of the continent map, then marking on it landmarks and important places they might have to study more.
"So, at this rate, we can probably head out in about a week if we don't consult the elders. We need to prep some before we go, but that should be about it," Aurelius told Mara.
"So we are going without permission. Living dangerously, I see," Valkyrie snorted.
"I'm grateful to the elders for giving me a place to stay, but they don't own me or my dragon. People are not theres to own, so if we want to level we should be allowed to, I would know this first hand." Mara walked over to Aurelius and looked him dead in the eye. "They also don't own you, so you should do as you please." Mara always and trouble listening to rules and doing as people say, because of how she was raised. She was definitely more of a free spirited person. "Do you understand?" She wasn't trying to be mean about it, she was just worried and didn't want anyone to feel like how she did growing up. Even if she is small, Mara is pretty fierce.
“Yeah. I’ve just tried to stay in good standing up to now in hopes that they’ll let up, but it’s no use. It’s time I make my own decisions,” Aurelius said.
"That's the spirit!" Mara got on Riven's back and exited the library. "What are we going to need?" She wanted to start gathering things as soon as possible so they don't have to worry about it later.
“Well, I suggest you get fitted for armor and get weapons if you don’t have any, but if you don’t have the money for that, I can cover you for now, and you can slowly pay me back once you’re established here,” Aurelius offered as he ran after her out of the library.
“I can make the weapons and armor and do them for a reduced rate,” Valkyrie suggested from where she stood in the doorway, “Besides, we want to keep this mission under wraps, don’t we?”
“That’d be great. We also need provisions, but that’s one of the last things we should gather.”
(Hey bec want to join the Rp with Uriah and sparrow?)
(I can’t really do it today I don’t think, but if it’s still open later, sure)
(It will say one on one with StarkSpangledBanner but you can join whenever.)
"Where can I go to get armor, and does Riven get some as well?" Mara will have to look for a job really soon. And if Valkyrie makes weapons for her, she'll have to pay her back as well. I dont want armor. Mara rolled her eyes. "You don't get a choice, sorry."
"You can get armor from almost any blacksmith," Quincy responded, "It costs more to get custom made stuff then to just buy a set. Though my suggestion is go to people you are acquainted with since the quality will be more reliable and you can sometimes bargain for a discount."
“Again, I can take care of armor and weapons to some extent, and whatever I can’t do, I can find someone else to help,” Valkyrie offered, “And Riven can get armor, but that’s a personal decision. The only dragons that really need armor are ones indending to go into battle. In little skirmishes, usually dragon scale is more than enough.”
