“No, no. It wasn’t your fault. It’s just that.. I-I can’t… I’m sorry.” Liam’s voice became quieter as he spoke and a tear fell down his face.
“No, no. It wasn’t your fault. It’s just that.. I-I can’t… I’m sorry.” Liam’s voice became quieter as he spoke and a tear fell down his face.
Kasey looked over at Liam and bit her lip when she saw the tear. She reached up to gently brush it away, then offered Liam her hand.
"It's okay. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," she said softly.
“I shouldn’t keep secrets from you but… I’m not sure.” Liam took her hand gently, his own shaking slightly.
Kasey gently squeezed his hand, giving him a sympathetic smile.
"Really, it's okay. If anyone understands about secrets, it's me," she said softly.
Liam let out a chuckle, “I guess that’s true.”
"It is true. Do you know how hard it was to keep that from you?" Kasey asked, half joking but also serious.
Liam shook his head and a small smile appeared, “No, I don’t know how hard it was.”
"It was terrible," Kasey said with a smile. "I wanted to tell you so badly, but I was terrified of you finding out. I thought you would hate me for keeping it a secret, and that you wouldn't want to speak to me anymore."
Liam shook his head, “I would never hate you. Could never hate you. You had your reasons for keeping it a secret.”
"Yeah, but…" Kasey sighed and looked down with a slight laugh. She looked back up, her cheeks heating up and her smile somewhat sheepish. "That was a while before we were dating."
Liam blinked once and then smiled, "How'd I get so lucky to have you in my life?"
Kasey's smile slowly grew less embarrassed, and she shrugged.
"I could ask the same thing about you," she said quietly.
Andion kissed her gently on the cheek, "It's getting late, you should head home if you have classes tomorrow."
Kasey clicked her tongue when she checked her phone. He was right, it was getting late, and Harper would start to worry if she was gone for much longer.
"All right. I'll see you later, then," she said with a small smile as she stood.
Liam nodded and gave her a smile back, "Text me when you can. I don't think I'll be leaving here anytime soon."
"You'd better not leave!" Kasey teasingly threatened with a laugh. "I'll text you as soon as I can, I promise."
Liam laughed a little, "Alright, see you later."
"Later, Liam," Kasey said with a smile as she headed out the door and crossed the hallway to her suit.
(Should we skip to the next day or something?)
(That sounds good)
Liam hadn't slept well again that night and was up early. He walked to the kitchen to grab a glass of water and some pain meds before deciding against them, heading to watch the telly instead.
Kasey had an early class that morning, so she was up fairly early as well. She quickly made herself breakfast, just a bowl of cereal, before wolfing it down. After changing into a pale pink t-shirt and dark skinny jeans, she made sure she had everything she would need for the day before walking out the door. She sighed as she headed toward her car, hoping that it wouldn't be a long day.
The day past slowly. At least it felt like it did to Liam. Having nothing to do, he spent most of the day watching films, working or song writing. The last, he was currently doing, trying to anyway. Liam had made a few notes and practiced a few chords but not much was coming to mind.
After a few of her classes, Kasey was finally free. She sighed and sat at a table, pulling her phone out of her pocket.
KASEY: Hey, Liam. I finally caught a break. How are you?
Liam was chewing on the end of his pencil when his home pinged with Kasey’s message and his eyes lit up. He smiled and replied to the text.
LIAM: I’m alright but sore and struggling with writers block. Hbu?
Kasey smiled sympathetically at her phone.
KASEY: Exhausted. My brain has been filled with both very useful and utterly useless information. And I'm starving, but lunch doesn't start until after my next class.
Liam chuckled.
LIAM: Aha, that must suck. At least you’re out of your apartment, even if it is school. I think I’m going to die of boredom by the end of the week.
