Liam chuckled, "Yeah, it is a good way to celebrate." He said, placing an arm around Kasey.
Liam chuckled, "Yeah, it is a good way to celebrate." He said, placing an arm around Kasey.
Kasey smiled and relaxed into his side. She tossed a few pieces of popcorn into her mouth as the movie started.
(Skip?)
(The Hunger Games series is stressful.)
(I've never seen them…)
Liam had fallen asleep nearer the end of the film, his head resting gently on Kasey's. His breathing was slow and steady and he showed no sign of discomfort, either mentally or physically.
(Neither have I, but I'm reading the books for the first time basically.)
Kasey was content to stay as she was, cuddled up close to Liam as he slept. It was a nice change from the hospital bed.
The movie had finished a few minutes ago, but Kasey didn't want to wake Liam. He just seemed so peaceful in his sleep, even if she couldn't see his face. She gently lifted his head off of her own and moved him a bit so that she could sit more comfortably.
(Ah, I've never read them either)
Liam moved slightly more after Kasey did but didn't wake. He breathed in deeply and then let it out slowly. Even if the couch was slightly uncomfortable, it was much better the the hospital.
Kasey watched Liam for a moment, a small smile playing on her lips. She sighed and looked around wondering what she should do. Maybe she should just sleep? Yeah, sleep sounded good.
Moving to the other end of the couch, she curled up. She grabbed a pillow and laid her head on it, a few random thoughts floating through her mind before she fell asleep.
Liam woke up a few hours later. The sun had fainally gone down and he rubbed his face. Standing slowly as to not wake Kasey, he headed to the kitchen to grab a glass of water and some pain meds.
He quietly grabbed a glass and the meds and took the quickly. He sighed and lent on the countertop, regaining his balance.
Kasey stretched out and, not feeling Liam where he was supposed to be, opened her eyes a crack. When she didn't see him on the couch, she sat up and rubbed her eyes before making her way to the kitchen.
"Hey," she greeted him sleepily with a small smile.
"Hey, sleep well?" He replied, returning the smile she had given him, placing the glass in the sink to wash up later.
"Yeah, I did. What about you?" Kasey asked. Had he had any nightmares? She hoped they hadn't returned…
Liam shrugged, "Apart from my back hurting, I did, surprisingly." He hadn't had any dreams at all, which he guessed was a blessing.
Kasey smiled a bit wider. "Good, I'm glad."
She sighed and looked around the kitchen before asking, "What do you have for food?"
Liam shrugged, "It depends what's in the fridge," He walked to the fridge, "I can do french toast, toasted sandwiches, uh… what do you fancy?"
"Ooh, French toast sounds good," Kasey said, stepping farther into the kitchen.
“Cools, I can actually make that.” Liam smiled and pulled out the milk and the eggs for the mixture, placing them on the counter before turning on the toasted sandwich maker.
"Can I help?" Kasey asked as she watched Liam get food out.
“Uh… can you get a bowl out and crack the eggs?” He asked, trying to find the spatula.
"Sure. Where are the bowls?" Kasey looked around the kitchen for where the object in question might be.
“Uh, top draw right where you’re standing.” Liam replied, grabbing the other necessary ingredients.
"Got it, thanks," Kasey said as she reached up to get a bowl. She grabbed the eggs from Liam and cracked them into the bowl.
“Thanks, now we just need the milk…” He measured out the milk and poured it in, “Can you stir that while I defrost the bread?”
"Sure," Kasey said, grabbing a fork to stir the mixture.
Liam hummed to himself as he deforested the bread then came over to Kasey, "That looks good." He then dunked the bread into the mixture and placed it on the sandwich maker.
"Mm… I'm excited. It's been so long since I've had French toast," Kasey said.
