Kasey took a shaking breath and the napkin fell back down silently. She closed her eyes, trying to focus on calming down.
"Sorry. I just can't believe he did that…" she whispered.
Kasey took a shaking breath and the napkin fell back down silently. She closed her eyes, trying to focus on calming down.
"Sorry. I just can't believe he did that…" she whispered.
“I didn’t think he would either. We were both wrong but it’s a lesson learnt.” Liam replied quietly.
"I would rather have not learned it at all," Kasey sighed, leaning her head on Liam's shoulder.
"I know, me neither. But it's what happened and we'll deal with it. Together." Liam gave her a smile and took her hand in his own
"Yeah. Together," Kasey agreed softly, intertwining their fingers with a smile.
(Should we skip to when he's released?)
(Yeah, sure thing)
“Alright, Liam? You’re free to go.” The Doctor said after she had accessed his injuries and deemed him able to leave.
“Really? Thank you.” He said, already trying to stand.
(Ugh, sorry I'm so scattered today. I was just freed from socializing…)
Kasey had just finished her last class for the day and was on her way to visit Liam. She made her way up to his room and knocked on the door before entering. Noticing the doctor, she gave her a polite smile and nod.
"How is he, Doctor?" she asked, giving Liam a smile.
(Aha, tha’s fine. And I have to go in a min but I’ll be on and off later)
The Doctor looked over at Kasey and smiled, “Well, he’s better. He’ll have to be careful and take it easy for the next week or so but he’s free to leave.”
Liam stood, using the bed to balance himself for a moment, “Thank-you for all the help.”
“Don’t worry about it. I’m just doing my job.”
(Oof. Okay. Hopefully I'll be on then.)
"Do you need a ride home, Liam? Because I'd be glad to drive you," Kasey offered.
“Yes, if you don’t mind.” He said, as the Doctor walked out and started to change into the clothes the Doctor had brought him.
Kasey slightly averted her gaze as Liam changed, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.
"Okay, cool. If you want, you can come hang out at my place and meet Quake," she suggested.
Liam put his shoes on and smiled, “I’d love that.” He said, walking over to Kasey.
"To my apartment, then?" Kasey asked, holding out her hand for Liam to take.
Liam took it and interlaced their fingers, “Yup, to your apartment we go.”
Kasey smiled and squeezed his hand before leading him out to the car. Once they arrived at the apartment complex, she turned to him.
"Are you okay to take the stairs?" she asked.
Liam nodded, “Yeah, but I’ll just have to take them slow.” He said, holding onto the railing as he slowly made his way up the staircase.
"I'll be right next to you if you need me," Kasey said, her grip on his hand tightening ever-so-slightly.
Liam smiled, “I know, I know.”
Gradually, with the help of Kasey and the railing, Liam made it up the stairs in one piece. It did take longer then expected but he did it.
Kasey smiled at Liam before leading him to her suit. Once there, she unlocked her door and let them both inside. Harper was sitting at the dining room table eating a bowl of cereal, and he looked up when he heard them come in.
"Hey, Liam. Welcome back," he greeted him.
"Thanks. It feels nice to be outta that hospital." He said, giving the older guy a small smile.
"I'm sure it does," Harper chuckled. "That's never a fun place to be."
"Exactly. Hey, have you seen Quake anywhere?" Kasey asked, looking around the room.
Almost as if she had heard her name, the kitten barreled into the room. She wound herself around Kasey's legs, who laughed and bent down to pick her up.
"Liam, meet Quake, my little troublemaker," she laughed, turning to her boyfriend.
"Awww… she's so cute." Liam said, smiling at the adorable kitten and scratched round it's ear for a few moments, "I love her, she's so small and cute."
"Isn't she?" Kasey grinned before pressing a light kiss to the top of the kitten's head. The tortoiseshell cat purred at the attention and reached out a paw to bap Liam's hand.
"Hey! What was that for?" He laughed slightly and patted the cat's head before putting his hand carefully in his pocket.
"I think she just likes you," Kasey laughed.
She pet the kitten a bit longer, then set her down. Quake stayed near her, walking around and between her legs and Liam's.
"You are going to get underfoot, kitty," she chuckled.
