Kasey continued to run her fingers through his hair, gently rubbing his scalp as she did so. It was so nice to just lay there with him, doing nothing but enjoying each other’s presence.

Liam let his eyes fall closed again, enjoying the gentle touches she was giving him. If only everyday could be like this. Calm.
“Don’t fall back asleep on me,” Kasey murmured with a soft laugh.
Liam huffed a laugh, opening one eye, "I'm not, but it's relaxing so I can't help it."
Kasey laughed softly and pulled her hand out of his hair. “How much longer do you think we can lay here?”
Liam hummed a little, “Five more minutes. Then we should get up and work.”
“Sounds wonderful,” Kasey sighed contentedly. She buried her face in his neck, curling up as close to him as she could.
Liam chuckled lightly, holding her close. That was, until, there was a knock on the door.
Kasey stiffened when she heard the knock. Who would be there at this time of day?
“Who do you think that is?” she asked in a whisper.
Liam shrugged, kissing Kasey on the head before he pulled away, "Dunno. I'll go check it out."
“I can come with you,” Kasey said, sitting up. “Just in case, ya know?”
Liam looked like he was going to protest but nodded anyway, "Okay." He said, heading to the door.
Kasey stood up and followed him out of the room. With her arms tightly wrapped around her middle, she stood close behind him as they reached the door.
Liam was cautious as he headed to the door. They weren't expecting any visitors so who could it be? When Liam opened the door, there was no one there, just a small box by the door.
“What… Liam, be careful,” Kasey whispered, coming out from behind him. She looked down the hall, but she didn’t see anyone.
“I am,” Liam mumbled. He knelt down, gently nudging the box to see if anything would happen. Nothing did.
“Should we bring it inside? I don’t know if that would be safe,” Kasey whispered, eyeing it warily.
Liam frowned, “I don’t trust it, whatever it is… you think Matt would be crazy enough to send us a bomb?”
Kasey shook her head slowly. “I wouldn't put it past him… What should we do with it, then?”
Liam shrugged a shoulder, “Dunno… it might not even be a bomb… we don’t know till we open it.”
Kasey chewed on her lip as she looked at the box, her arms wrapped tightly around her waist. “Let’s just bring it in. We’re getting nowhere just standing here staring at it.”
Liam looked back at her for a moment before he nodded, "Okay." He picked up the box gently, standing and turning around to bring it inside.
Kasey closed the door behind him, then followed him to the dining room. “Let’s set it on the table,” she suggested.
Liam did as she said, gently placing the box on the dining table. He took a step back, crossing his arms over his chest, "You think it's from Matt?"
“Who else would leave a box at our door without a word and with no note attached?” Kasey questioned with a shrug. “I think it has to be from him.”
