“As much as I would like to do that, I have to do my duty as a super,” Kasey signed.
“As much as I would like to do that, I have to do my duty as a super,” Kasey signed.
"You're not the only super, Kasey," Liam frowned a little, "If you have a real reason to go into hiding then you should be able to do so without feeling guilty."
Kasey fidgeted with her fingers. Liam did have a point… Once she got Matt down, she should at least take a break from being a super for a while.
“Okay,” she agreed with a nod.
Liam let out a relieved sigh, glad Kasey was doing something for her own well being, "Good. You going to come with me while I burn this thing?"
“Um… Yes. But I’m not looking at it again,” Kasey murmured with a shudder. “But we need to be careful. Very, very careful.”
Liam sighed and nodded, pressing a kiss to the top of her head, “We’ll head out of the city, then. Just to get rid of it and then we’ll come straight back.”
“Okay. That’s probably a good idea,” Kasey agreed with a nod. “Do you think we should maybe find somewhere else to stay…?”
Liam sighed, "As much as I want to say no, it would probably be a good idea. If Matt knows where we are then it could lead to.. gifts worse then an eye."
Kasey nodded again. “We should discuss it somewhere else…” she murmured, lowering her voice. “He could have planted things around the apartment.”
"Probably a good idea. We can talk about it more in the car," He kissed the top of her head, "Let's change and head out real quick."
“Okay,” Kasey agreed, smiling a bit at the kiss he gave her. “I’ll grab my clothes and change in the bathroom.”
“Okay baby.” Liam took her hand, leading them into the bedroom, “If you’re changing in the bathroom I’ll change in here.”
“All right,” Kasey said as she grabbed a new set of clothes. “I’ll knock when I’m finished.”
"Okay." He replied. Liam opened his own draws, pulling out a change of clothes for himself.
Kasey finished changing and knocked on the door to let Liam know she was finished. “I’m done,” she called. “You ready?”
Liam had just finished dressing and pulling on his shoes when Kasey knocked, "Yeah, I'm ready, you can come in."
Kasey stepped out in just jeans and a T-shirt. “Let’s go,” she sighed, giving him a resigned smile.
Liam returned it, grabbing his car keys, "Yeah. Let's get it over with." He shook his head a little, heading out into the living room to grab the box the eye was in.
Kasey took Liam’s arm in her hand. As they stepped out the door, she closed and locked it behind them. It wasn’t long before they were at the car, and they both buckled in.
Liam started the car up, heading immediately towards the outskirts of the city. Luckily it didn't seem like the drive would take forever as the traffic wasn't terrible. It didn't take long before he was pulling up to the side of the road of an old field way out of the city.
“So… are we just dropping it off here, or should we burn it?” Kasey asked, glancing at the box and cringing.
"We should probably burn it.. in case anyone randomly comes across the thing." Liam replied, "There's a lighter in the back of the car."
Kasey nodded and got out to go around to the back of the car. She looked for the lighter and grabbed it, then waited outside the car for Liam.
Liam climbed out, holding the box in both of his hands and shutting the door with his hip. He looked to Kasey before heading out a little ways into the feild.
Kasey wrapped her arms around herself tightly. She followed Liam through the field, trying not to jump at every rattle and swish she heard.
