(Ok here it is now that I got some sleep, lol)
For the next several hours, Delia was busy with tests and X-rays. The shower had felt like heaven and she stood there until the water ran cold, washing herself off while Leo took a nap. Clothes were the trickiest part, getting her old clothes off without messing with her leg, and getting new clothes on. She thought about Jay every do often as well, what he was doing and if he was alright. They put an actual cast on her leg and gave her real crutches, though she kept the wooden ones Jay had given her just in case as well. Leo stuck with her the whole time, making the nurses and doctors smile while they did their tests. Delia's least favorite part was when they were done though. She had gotten to keep all her supplies, though they did take her extra clothes and promised to return them when they were washed if she wanted.
Caspian was the one they called down to take her to where the civilians 'lived'. He led her down a different hallway of the base, ignoring Leo, who growled from his place in the sling across her chest. Thinking of meeting Jay again sounded amazing and she smiled, the backpack on her pack not even bothering her as she looked around the huge mess hall Caspian led her too.

(alright lol)

Jay had taken each test unflinchingly with his chin held high. He knew that if he behaved like he had something to hide, they would look for whatever he was hiding. Luckily, they seemed to have no idea about the Killswitch operation, about what he was and what he would do. So they simply commented on his unusual hair color, and moved on. Their scans picked up nothing unusual in his brain, and he was escorted to the mess hall without incident. He looked around for Delia, crossing his arms uncomfortably.

@gracehustle

"Jay!" Delia called out happily when she noticed him across the mess hall, hurrying over and leaving Caspian where he stood, "How did the tests go?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay spotted her, and walked over, meeting her halfway. "They went well. Apparently they don't know about…" He tugged at a strand of his hair. "So. I'm okay so long as the programming isnt activated." He gavr a small smile. "And you?" Leo barked happily, wagging his tail.

@gracehustle

She shrugged, smiling slightly, "Pretty good, the shower felt amazing, I got a real cast on my leg, clean clothes, and do you see the sheer amount of food they have here? I feel like I'm in heaven." Delia looked at Leo and she reached up to pet him, "This little fluff ball charmed all of the nurses and doctors, he also got a checkup and a bath, which he wasn't very fond of."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He laughed softly. "Well, that's good." He replied. "And yes, the showers were nice." He stretched a little. Leo wagged his tail, squirming happily. Jay reached out and picked him up. "I'm stealing him." He told Delia, holding the squirmy little puppy.

@gracehustle

"Go ahead, he's probably sick of me anyway," She replied, watching with a happy look on her face, "Now, I'm in the mood to try some of this food they have, want anything? I also still have to figure out where they're assigning me to sleep and put my stuff at."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay smiled. "Yes, food sounds delicious." He agreed. "And I can help you with that later, if you want." He said, heading towards the food line with Leo in his arms. The puppy squirmed happily, licking at Jay's face.

@gracehustle

Delia nodded and smiled, following after him towards the smell of food. She glanced at Caspian only once as he left, slightly relieved that he left and they were alone besides the other civilians in the mess hall.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay got in line to get food, then looked down at Leo, who was hungrily sniffing the air. "I think I should put him back in the sling before we get to the food…do you want to carry him still, or do you want me to?"

@gracehustle

"Could you carry him?" She asked, nodding her head, "Please? I can give you the sling." Her stomach growled and she felt herself blush slightly, not wanting to show how hungry she was.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded, and took the sling, putting it on and setting the puppy inside. Leo squirmed happily, poking his head out so he could still look around. Jay smiled at the puppy, then at Delia. "Sounds like we better get that stomach of yours something to eat."

@gracehustle

Delia shrugged, smiling again, "I think it's protesting being so near food and not eating." She reached over and pet Leo before moving with the line, seeming much more relaxed than when they first got to the base.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay chuckled, and nodded. "Ah." He sighed softly. "So how was Caspian?" He asked in an almost guarded tone. Was he… jealous? No, of course not. No way was he jealous…right? He shook his head slightly.

@gracehustle

"Actually, he was acting a lot nicer than in the truck," She said, not really paying attention to his tone, "He offered to carry my backpack for a while, though I turned him down." Her eyes were wandering around the mess hall as she took in just the amount of people and the varying age range that was there.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded as they moved forward in line. "Ah. I see." He replied calmly. Leo wriggled, barking softly at the smell of food, nearly squirming out of the sling in excitement. Jay gently held the puppy still. "Shhh, calm down, little guy. You can have some food in a bit."

@gracehustle

Delia smiled as they finally reached where some volunteers were serving food, giving each person a small tray of already pre proportioned food. "Thank you," She said, taking the tray in one hand before frowning and realizing her predicament.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay smiled, and took his tray in one hand, then took hers. "Here, I'll carry it." He told her with a smile. He looked at the volunteers. "Hey, can we get a small bowl of just scraps or something for the puppy?" He gestured with his chin at Leo.

@gracehustle

One of the worker behind the counter nodded, "If you set those trays down first and come back up, I'll give you what I can find."
She nodded in thanks to Jay and looked around for an empty place to sit, seeing one that could fit the two of them and Leo and heading towards it.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded, and followed Delia, setting the trays down on the table. Leo wiggled, trying to get at the trays. Jay sighed, and held the puppy still, walking back to the counter.

@gracehustle

"Thanks," She said before sitting down, setting her backpack and crutches down on the floor next to her before pulling her tray over and looking at the variety of food on the plate.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded. He came back with a bowl of scraps for Leo, and set the bowl down on the floor, then set the wriggling puppy down as well. Leo wagged his tail, and started devouring the food happily. Jay smiled, and began eating his own food.

@gracehustle

Delia looked around, shoving the food into her mouth like she hadn’t eaten in forever, which was partly true. “So, how did your tests and everything go?” She asked between bites, smiling at Leo devouring his food.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay shrugged. "Fine, I guess." He replied. "And yours?" He ate carefully, pacing himself. It had been a while since he had had this much food; he didn't want to throw it all back up.

@gracehustle

'They went good, though I didn't like when they had to mess with my leg and everything," She replied, not thinking to eat slowly and already feeling the consequences of a starting to ache stomach.
